rescue to go and help these hikers. four of them were able to walk down the mountain but the injured hiker had to spend the night on the mountain with two rescuers. they are using something that's called the agilite injured person carrier. >> he's on his back like a backpack. >> to tell us more about this rescue, we have tim jones, the leader for the north shore rescue. tim, tell us what this rescue was like for your team. >> it was pretty standard type of rescue that we do. the only thing that was different on this call was that we use the special body strap that were developed by the israeli special forces. >> how many different guys did it take to carry this one man out? >> we only used one. we only had to move this individual down about 100 meters vertical to an extraction point where we took the injured subject out the next morning by helicopter. >> what's the most difficult part about a rescue like this

for your team? >> it was to have a second incident where another hiker would trip and fall and break their leg or break their ankle. >> they caught up with the injured hiker and this is what he said. >> do you want to thank the guys that plucked you off the mountain there? >> i thank dale. he's the one who carried me down. >> tim, do you think that the man that was rescued was a bit ungrateful to you guys? >> it's hard to tell where he was. i think he was appreciative, he just didn't maybe know how to say it. >> how often do you have to execute nighttime rescues? >> most of our operations are at night because people run into trouble at night or they get stuck and we can't get to them. >> thank you so much for taking the time to jump on skype with us. >> i learned all about skype too. >> we all win. somebody broke into two pet stores and stole puppies, nine of them total. >> oh, man, who steals a puppy?

>> the thieves broke into two petlands in texas in collin county, one in plano, the other in frisco. >> they were hit within a half hour of each other. they got in and got out pretty quickly. >> the owner of one of the petlands talked to cw 33. >> they came through the doors. at this point they split up. one went that way, one came here. >> as you can see in the video, the suspects had a piece of luggage and a laundry basket to complete the crime. >> opened up this kennel and unloaded the puppies that were in this kennel, carried them out. down to his friend that was on the other end because his friend had both the suitcase and laundry basket. >> see the puppies in the laundry basket? >> in this kennel we had the english bulldog and the terrier. those were taken out and put in the suitcase. >> the manager at the stores think it's somebody that's been here before. they kicked in the door to get into the shop and went directly for the puppies. >> is there a black market for

puppies or is this renegade we're going to do good for the puppies and get them out of a pet store kid of act? >> those puppies are probably pretty expensive so they steal them and get maybe $400 or $500 on the street wherejf at the ste somebody would probably pay north of $1,000. >> puppy raid. >> weird. >> can't think of much worse sdmnch. this is one of those videos that makes you so mad. surveillance video from downtown pittsburgh, 3:30 p.m. keep an eye on the top right corner of your screen. group of students, and one sucker punches a teacher. that is a creative and performing arts english teacher. he fell lifeless, unconscious on the ground. looks like his face even hits the curb. and if you watch closely in the video, it even looks like they're laughing as they walk away. >> oh, my goodness. >> a bystander called police. this guy is jim adlesburger.

students describe him as well liked, they have fun in his class. he suffered contusions and lacerations to his face, head and hands. when police got there he was dazed. police have i.d.ed a teenage suspect. he'll face simple assault charges. it appears as though his parents are the ones who brought him to the police. >> that's awesome. way to go, parents. that's good news that his parents were responsible. >> and the best news of all, the teacher is okay and looksfá lik he'll be back in school within a couple of days. surveillance video in brussels, belgium, catching a different type of incident. watch closely. sunday morning, early hours. the front of a convenience store through the glass doors. all the way through the back of the store pinning somebody underneath some debris. that person was not serious low injured, believe it or not. what makes this shocking is this

is a professional soccer player from belgium. he's 25 years old and just says, oops, i hit the gas instead of the brake. he claims he was only mildly intoxicated. >> it looks like he stood on the gas. he didn't just go through the front of the store, he went all the way to the back. >> caused about $325,000 worth of damage. >> i hope he has to pay for the damage that he caused to this place. >> he does vow to make good on the damages and says he's going t take responsibility for his actions. >> there you go. maybe that's what happened when he became mildly sober. a charlotte, north carolina, man says that he is lucky to be alive after an incident that was caught on camera. let me warn you, this is tough to watch. but again, the man is okay. the map you're seeing running across the street is shawn lewis. early on sunday mondrning he wa headed to work. obviously it looks like a pretty clear street but watch what happens. >> oh!

>> you see the car come down the middle of the street. shawn lewis stops, turns around and looks at the car directly. the car hits him. he flies on top of the hood of the car and is thrown back onto the road. the driver gets out of the car to check on lewis, but the driver gets back in the car and then drives away. >> was this on purpose? >> this was just an accident. it happened to be caught on camera by a surveillance camera. six minutes later you also see on camera shawn lewis get up and walk away. he spoke to wsoc tv in charlotte. he says he doesn't remember the accident but that he certainly is blessed. >> i'm glad god had my back. that's all i know. god was looking out for me. >> it looks like he was running in the mstreet. my mind says if the car hit him, that person wouldn't have gotten in trouble if they would have just stayed there because he wasn't in a crosswalk. but the person shouldn't have left. >> but it's 4:00 in the morning.
