gate bridge looks good and traffic on the san mateo bridge looks good heading out to the high-rise, let's go back to the desk. oakland police are investigating a deadly overnight shooting. it happened on hilton street near 57th avenue and alex savage is there live and has more on what police are looking into this morning. >> reporter: this could be a tough case for homicide police officers because they don't have a solid witness coming forward. they fired at close range and they collected shell casings. oakland police got at least one 911 call about gunfire. when they showed up they found a man with several gunshot wounds who was unresponsive. the man was transported to the hospital and died about a half

hour after he arrived there. they have not determined the identity of the victim in this case and they have not released it publically to us and i did ask the sergeant about a possible description of the shooter or getaway car and no information on either of those two issues but not a lot for them to work with as they investigate this shooting, alex savage ktvu channel 2 morning news. a shooting happened at 7:00 this morning and the shooter kept firing shots at the victim hitting cars and windows as well. the victim ran into the lobby of an apartment building. right now police are trying to figure out if there were multiple shooters. and it happened earlier this month and that incident, police say four men got out of

their car and opened fire. four men were rushed to the hospital and 40 shell casings were found at that scene. an arsonist may well have been captured in san jose. she was taken into custody after deliberately starting a fire. investigators are checking evidence that may link her to other fires. time is 6:02, we are getting more details about the suspected cause of the chevron fire. it sent thousands of people to the hospital. according to the san francisco chronicle, a small fire and last year there were concerns about the fire in richmond. they told safety workers this was taking a toll on the equipment. time now 603, the national

league continues in san francisco. allie, i know the fans expect something different in st. louis. they filed out of at&t park, they kept their chins up and heads held high and many are looking ahead to game 2 at the national championship. now it didn't seem to bother fans too much. cardinals led for the first three innings and finally in the 4th inning, giants made a come back but they didn't get any further than that. the final game was 6- 4 cardinals. hopefully we can take it to game two, but it is disappointing. >> we will be back, guaranteed this is game one, we will be back. >> we are going to get them the

on a computerized map system. you can see highway 4 and you can see quite a bit and if you look at the top of your screen you can see the pittsburgh area coming in through bay point. from antioch to pittsburgh it is slow and no problems heading south. bay bridge toll plaza, that traffic is backing up and metering lights go on 6:15 so a few minutes from now and we already have a backup getting into san francisco. if you are driving between hayward and fremont, traffic is moderate. already about 15 minute delays at san francisco airport but oakland is not reporting any delays for the time-being. first of all, if you are heading to game 2, it looks to be the worst. temperatures are mild this evening, in fact 60s and 70s on the high side.

we do have a lot to do with that fog and mainly 50s. in fact a few upper 50s, fog burns off and it will be hazy skies and it will be a little warmer. 60s and 70s and also 80s. that is squashing the fog and very shallow and dense in spots taking us to the 9:00 hour and it seems to be the old rule of thumb. i have looked at several days and there is something from that. allowing the fog to form as well. upper 50s for some, mid-50s for others and fog is reducing visibility as well. high clouds will give us hazy skies and today and tomorrow will be about the same and we

more information there. traffic is backed up beyond the 880 over crossing, let's go to steve. very thick fog, reducing visibility, it looks like a very warm week and it is not too bad of a day, mostly clear mild after game time. now the warm air a loss lost is not kicking in, in a tax -- aloft is not kicking in, in a big way. most of it will burn off. higher clouds stay to the north. it will be a warmer week as the high builds in and the seven day to 10 day outlook, looks quiet. maybe some 90s inland. we had a rather cold saturday morning and there is a lot of

moisture in the area and we will have some of that very thick fog and some mid-to low 80s, it looks a little warmer and temperatures are starting to keep up and we will continue that theme today and tomorrow and north winds will send temperatures on the coast to near 90 degrees. even though it is nice temperatures will doesn't over the weekend. we reported 1.1% in september which indicates higher consumer confidence. it was especially strong in appliances. numbers rose in every category. volume held relatively steady. and people who buy tablets will be surprised by a bonus. they will get a new feature

into the wild. and a boat crashed spilling hundreds of gallons of diesel fuel. the coast guard said the boat hit some roxanne one person was -- rocks and one person was on board. they are now recovering. a person who fell out of a second floor is now recovering. it happened on beverly drive. police say alcohol and horseplay was involved. he suffered a serious head injury but is said to be in stable condition. and the future of the radar tower is in the santa cruz mountains. the open space district will consider three options with that radar tower, taking it down, destroying everything but

police are now investigating a deadly shooting which happened on hilton street. alex savage you are there with more questions that still have to be answered. >> and there are a lot of them. it could make it an uphill battle and i was told several shots were fired at close range. >> reporter: they picked up shell casings on the 700 blood of hill street. they got several calls about gunfire. when they got there they found a man unresponsive suffering from gunshot wounds. he was transferred to the hospital where he died. they will not release his name publically and no arrests have

been made and no witnesses are coming forward and they spent the morning trying talk to folks as they search for the shooter in this case and they have no description on the shooter or the vehicle. police in santa clara are investigating a shooting. it happened during some kind of reception at freedom hall. right now police have not given us any information on the condition of the victim or any information about the suspect. investigations are underway after a man and woman were shot and killed in contra costa. they found the victims just before 5:30 on buchanan road and ventura drive. the man was pronounced dead at the scene and the woman died at a local hospital. they did see a get away car leave the area but

investigators have not released any information about the car. police in san leandro are searching for a man who stabbed a man who was trying to break up a fight between a man and a woman. it happened near route park. now they are searching for a 19 to 20-year-old man who they say was behind the stabbing. he was last seen wearing a baseball hat and if you have any information call san leandro police. a man was stabbed near candle stick park on his way to yesterday's 49ers game. police say the man from elk grove was with about five of his friends on the access road when two men approached him. there was an argument, one man pulled out a knife and stabbed the man in the torso. that man was wearing a dallas

crash on the bay bridge, sal? >> yes, we do have more information this crash and it -- more information about this crash. they have just removed it from the bridge and i am getting it from chp's auto mated dis-- automated dispatch system. you can see how slow it is come together pay gates. this was because the crash was up there and we did get lucky, they were able to move all those cars off the area and we are seeing a little bit better now that they are trying speed up the metering lights but it is going to be a terrible commute this morning on the bay bridge and the only ray of hope we have is that it will not be as bad as it was the last week when we had that injury crash.

up, maybe some 90s inland. today a lot of 50s, temperatures have come up compared to saturday morning and i can see my breath. first time that has happened in a long time. you can see the cloud cover skirting by and it will thin out and hardly anybody has a breeze and almost everyone stays foggy. once that burns off, it will be warm 70s and 80s and 90s. mainly lower 80s, it is a slow warmup and that fog can be really thick, not only coast but inland spots reducing visibility, once it is gone. temperatures start to warm up still okay on the weekend but temperatures start to slide down a little bit. >> time is 6:58, they are buying 70% of the third u.s.

. time now 6:55, stocks are opening higher after strong retail sales. it rose 1% and could reflect confidence in the economy and the dow jones industrial average is currently up 6 points, nasdaq up 2 and the s&p 500 is up just a fraction. a bay area man who vanished two years ago will be featured on a fox television show. the show, missing will be focusing on jackson miller. he vanished may 15th 2010. his family said he suffered from depression and was last seen near the golden gate bridge, but surveillance does not show anybody jumping from the bridge that day. the show missing airs right after ktvu channel 2 news at noon.
