cove. the crew worked until midnight after monday's game after we got that torrential downpour, and then they were up bright and early with their squeegees pulling the tarp over the field. it's still there. now, both teams had light workouts yesterday afternoon. the world series logo is on place on the field and on the mound it will be barry zito verses justin verlander. many believe verlander is the best pitcher in mlb. so the giants know they have their work cut out for them. >> that's the great thing about baseball. you have to be able to go through the highs and the lows and try to keep the even kiel. >> that's the thing about baseball. when things are going good, the ball bounces your way. and then when things get bad --

some rituals are considered strange in baseball, in hopes of giving the giants that special boost they need to win. we'll talk to the giants about some of the special things they do. you can watch the world series today at 4:0 this afternoon. it is coming up on 7:05 this morning in contra costa county. the coroner is due back at the scene of a plane crash to remove two bodies. the plane went down yesterday afternoon at marsh creek road at byron highway at byron airport. at first, authorities thought only the pilot was on board. but then several hours after the crash they discovered a second body. neighbors remember hearing the engine sputter and then the engine exploded. >> i said, john, i think a

plane exploded on your property. you might want to get down there and see what happened. >> the coroner is expected to release the names of the pilot and the passenger today. mountain view police want your help to catch an attempted robbery on a jogging trail in stevens creek. janine de la vega has more. >> reporter: to give you an where we were, just steps away from the stevens creek trail. it's still dark right now. certain areas of this trail that, you know, you can't see very much. it was also dark when this attack occurred. let's take a closer look at the sketch of this man. he's described as a latino man in his mid-20s, 5'10" with medium to heavy build. he was wearing dark clothing and a dark baseball hat at the

time of the attack. police say last tuesday he was approaching by another man. officers say there was a struggle and they both fell to the ground. the victim was able to get away, went home and called 911. most people we spoke to this morning didn't know about the attack. while some were alarmed, others say it won't prompt them to change their route. >> only if it becomes prevalent do i work about it. >> reporter: but you won't strange your route? >> no, not unless there's some stronger reason. >> reporter: even if there was a stronger robbery and -- strong robbery with no represents used, police say this is rare. they say robberies and april estimated robberies just -- and attempted robberies just don't happen in mountain view. right now, i'm getting together

the statistics to show how rare these robberies are here. right now, you can see nobody is on the trail. we've seen many joggers and bicyclists using it. police want to warn all of them to be aware of your surroundings and of anyone suspicious and to give them a call and if they see anybody in the sketch. back to you. 7:07. new this morning now we're hearing about the man suspected of being involved in the u.s. consulate in libya is now in custody in tunisia. he's from tunisia. according to "the daily beast" he report posted reports on -- he reported daily reports. the u.s. tracked him after he left libya for turkey. he was detained in turkey and then tent to tunisia. that's where he's awaiting trial. so far, u.s. officials have not

"reuters" are reporting officials at the white house and the state department were told two hours after the attack on the libyan ambassador that an islamic group claimed credit. one of the e-mails obtained from government sources, it's report, was that they took responsibility for that attack. a new poll shows that the latest doe bait did not affect voters' opinions. 47% say president obama was the winner of the doe bait. while 31% say mitt romney won. but the president's favorability only increased to 1% and it was pretty much the same for romney whose paverrability picked up to 54%. the candidates are on a campaign -- favorability picked

the -- tougherred over -- turned over. both men have been placed on leave. 7:18. a texas highway opens today with the highest speed limit in america. it's 85 miles an hour on a 41- stretch of highway in texas. it's a toll road designed to take some of the pressure off between austin and san antonio. by the way, it will cost driver about 15 cents a mile to step on the gas. the massachusetts pharmacy that's the center of the deadly meningitis outbreak reportedly did not follow proper procedures. investigators say the new england center did not test equipment properly or wait for tests to come back from an outside lab before they processed at least 13 cases.

you to your job. northbound 280, you will see some slow traffic getting into the -- get into cupertino. we showed you 280. i want to show you 101 now. 101 is pretty slow. a minor accident. northbound 101 near trimble already on the shoulder. looking at the peninsula, the traffic is okay i would use -- i would use 280 if i could. hayward traffic southbound slows down to 238 to fremont. it's about a 25-minute delay. a lot of people come in for the world series, the bridge is likely to be crowded again. the best way to get to the game is public transportation, muni, b.a.r.t. and caltrain. all of those services are adding extra capacity to deal with the large crowd.

about 8:00 p.m. a man was walking on the trail with his backpack and the suspect approached him and both men fell to the ground. the victim was able to get up, he ran home and called 911. we showed the sketch at -- we showed the sketch to some people and they didn't recognize him but this does concern them. >> i see people around here -- women around here at 5:00. someone could jump them and they couldn't be able to get to gem. officers are encouraging trail useers to be aware of the surroundings and to be on the lookout for the man in the sketch and to call police if they see anything suspicious. plan the last hour, police said this doesn't happen in the city of mountain view.
