packed for fans. many people who could not score a ticket this was the place to be at game time. many people came here to watch from the park. others brought radios to keep up with the action. but many, including those eating dinner and those who came from sacramento said this was the place to enjoy the game. >> because we didn't have take tickets to get in. it was a nice day and we wanted to be out here with the crowd. >> it's just being around the crowd, you feel you're here supporting the team. >> just the comradery, talking to people. talking about why they are here. you know and it's just having fun, seeing some of the antics of the people around here. >> reporter: and to make sure the people out here to make sure they were part of the

from the violent clashes that took place a year ago. they met around 7:00 this morning then marched through downtown oakland for about an hour. closing streets before finally winding up at frank igawa plaza there at 14th and broadway. we have team coverage, cara liu spoke to a man who was injured there one year ago. but we begin with amber lee who was there with protesters as they were marching. >> reporter: we're at frank igawa where protesters have gathered after having marched for two hourless. h o ur -- after having marched for two hours. at 7:00, protesters celebrated one year of the occupy movement.

protesters told us the occupy movement is still alive and has motivated them to improve their life. >> i was homeless and unemployed. >> and now. >> i ve an apartment and a job. >> what do you want to happen from here on out. >> i want to see everybody else get employed and get change. >> people who didn't know each other came together and decided that this system was messed up and decided to set up and fight against it. that's different, that's unusual. it didn't happen like that. this has never happened. >> reporter: around 8:30, protesters arrived near headquarters where they were met by about 50 officers who turned them away. police told us they arrested one man for throwing a rock at an officer. back here live you can see there are police officers monitoring the situation here at city hall and frank ogawa plaza. reporting live, amber lee, ktvu channel 2 news.

>> from amber we go now to cara liu with more on the occupy anniversary, cara. >> reporter: amongst the nearly 200 people who are out here marching tonight from this plaza one face in the crowd stood out. a young man in a wheelchair who was hurt during the demonstration almost exactly a year ago. in this crowd of demonstrators marching through downtown oak -- oakland is scott olson. one year ago, olson became one of the faces of the local movement. the iraq war veteran was severely injured after a projectile hit him in the head. police recently confirmed that projectile was a bean bag fired by an oakland police officer. >> i still have a hard time believing that oakland police officers would shoot a veteran who is doing nothing wrong. i still have a hard time believing that. we're here to hold them accountable tonight and to make them answer for their ages. >> reporter: olsen says he is still recovering from a

we have new revelations to tell you about tonight from our ongoing ktvu investigation into the spending of public money by top officials at the part of oakland. we've now uncovered hundreds of dollars in billed expenses at a late night private room kareoke bar that some say is a front for prostitution. in tonight's special report ktvu's eric rasmussen questions spending by yet another port official. >> reporter: for several nights

we recorded a parade of scantily clad women many dropped off all at once from a mini van going into this bar. it's a familiar scene neighbors say they've been concerned about for years. >> the first thing that i thought was that there's just too many of them to be waitresses in this place. >> reporter: cafe juliette, a business that bills itself as a kareoke is the place where dunnigan charged $550. on his expense report, dunnigan wrote it was a business meeting. >> you're like what's going on down there? is this a weird prostitution thing going on? >> reporter: when we visited the bar a regular there told us, you can get girls here. in an online review for the

same location a customer said he was shown six women and was asked which one do you want. >> can you tell us what kind of business is being run here? >> kareoke bar. >> reporter: we found the bar's manager john in the front. >> reporter: what about all the girls we've seen coming in here tonight. >> have you seen any girls coming in? >> reporter: we've seen girls. >> it's a kareoke bar. we have a love connection here. >> reporter: you have a love connection here? is anybody paying to be with these girls? >> no, no. that's all i know, i don't know. >> reporter: much like quan, we found dunnigan was reimbursed thousands of dollars reimbursed

hundreds of dollars. same as quan, dunnigan made repeat visits to the 768 club in china. >> reporter: shouldn't the port already known about these expenses. >> certainly there's a shock and dismay, we're going to get to the bottom of this. >> reporter: the port now sites an ongoing investigation. >> reporter: we're going to get to the bottom of this matter. >> reporter: why would the port approve these expenses. >> this is all part of the investigation, we're going to get to the pot testimony of the matter. >> reporter: marvin gray is author of a group called corporate integrity. he says changing the culture at the port of oakland goes beyond putting a few executives on paid leave. >> most people do what they think is right considering the

beach. today she was identified as katie gui. a friend of hers saw a news report about the body and told the principal at albany high. the body was identified today through dental records. the investigation as to how she died is still going on. san mateo sheriff deputies have also released the picture of a man who is accused of kidnapping a girl from an elementary restroom. investigators say he grabbed the 9-year-old girl and carried her off campus but she managed to escape and run back to school. members of the roman catholic archdiocese of san francisco gathered to pray for peace. they held a vigil this morning at valencia for 19-year-old joseph escobar. the group said it is starting a victim's assistance ministry

program. the goal is to reach out to families of homicide victims in marin, san francisco and san mateo county. u.s. stock markets managed to post small games after losing ground for the last couple of days. the dow rose 26 points the nasdaq was up four. investors had to digest weak home sales. apple says it's looking for a record breaking holiday season. apple shares fell closing at $609 and change. then dropping a few cents more in afterhours trading. >> reporter: a possible move of apple sent pandora sales sharply lower today. pandora shares fell 11% amidst report that apple may launch its own online music service. high temperatures today

a house fire in san francisco spread to a home next door and displaced a dozen people. the fire was reported about 4:00 this afternoon at a home in andover street. firefighters say heavy flames in the attic spread to a neighbor's home. there were no injuries. the red cross is helping eight adults, four children and three

cats with temporary housing. a late night meeting is on the way. the board of trustees at city college is making the big decisions as it tries to climb out of a budget crisis. >> reporter: the marathon board of trustees meeting is still going on right now. at stake really is the financial history of city college of san francisco. for the more than 90,000 students and employees at city college of san francisco there's a lot at stake. the financial picture here is so bleak the college is in danger of losing its accreditation, being taken over by the state. possibly even forced to shut down. >> we're in a severe financial situation. >> reporter: against this backdrop the board of trustees is expected to approve a series of budget cuts to help close the $16 million shortfall and fix certain operating

deficiency mandated by the accreditation commission. the vast majority is getting teachers back to teach in the classrooms. >> this is something that's being done without consultation that there has been no transparency about how the plan has been put together and the impacts look tremendous. >> reporter: but the college says that move alone can save $2 million a year. the trustees also plan on closing at least five satellite sites around san francisco and a preschool in vernal heights which the college used at its child development curriculum. students worry that their funding is next. >> that's our worry here, that we're going to lose some of our funding to take care of students here. >> reporter: the trustees have until monday to come up with a plan to keep city college from losing its accreditation. rob roth, ktvu news. >> a reminder you can get ktvu news to go. click the live icon and you can watch all of our newscasts live

that man was wearing a mask and threw a rock at an officer. the officer was not hurt. other than that the protest has been peace -- peaceful. detectives in contra costa county have arrested three homicide suspect who is investigators say shot and killed two people near pittsburg. they arrested sheldon silas, reginald whetley and domain salas. the three are being he'll without bail on murder charges. a former -- according to the district attorney, dominguez double billed the charity which had hired him to keep young people off drugs.

we are following some developing news now, late word of an arrest in a homicide case out of castro valley where the

body of a woman was found last week inside a burning home. the alameda sheriff's department just told us they have made an arrest in the beating death of 58-year-old barbara laschey. they will release the name of the suspect during a conference tomorrow. she was found dead inside her burning home in san carlo avenue. just yesterday authorities released the sketch of the attacker based on witnesses descriptions. hoping for the best but planning for the worse. teachers and school staff across the state are bracing for a critical vote on proposition 30. a new poll shows support has slipped below 50% and now stands as 48%. 44% oppose the measure. ktvu's alex sadvige visited a school to find out how schools

they're going to be down in the low 40s. we're going to see upper 30s in the coolest locations. chilly right now, but when you wake up tomorrow most bay area cities are going to be in the 40s. as you head off to school or work you will notice it. you will require a jacket or cut the heat on in your car. a little bit warmer, warmer still as we head into the bay area weekend. not hot. upper 70s, everyone some low 80s as we head into the weekend but just a nice one. that rain we had good news. i doesn't take fire danger off the table but it helps out quite a bit. we always worry about it. but that rain went a long way in putting out the fire danger. here's how the forecast model keeps it with rain to the north. a few clouds try to move in. that low pressure is moving on, rain around here some areas got
