that deadly situation caused by huricane sandy and as many as 3,000 are being evacuated from bergen new jersey. now they are saying a bermuda overflowed and people have climbed on to their rooftops trying to get away from floodwaters. look as it on as you -- houses away from the jersey shore. they have caed them to be put on alert and this is not causing a public safety risk right now. then there is new york city especially hit hard by the big storm. hurricane force winds caused a facade in the chills i neighborhood and high winds left that, a crane is dangling in midtown manhattan and we

are not sure when the subway service will return. a woman was forced to abandon ship in rough waters off the coast of carolina. 14 other crew members were rescued yesterday from the h ms bounty but a woman was pulled from the water and later died at the hospital. it has been featured in several films. they have shut them down for a second day and coming up how the capital is coping. volunteers are lending a hand to relieve efforts. red cross sent us these pictures from the delaware coast and now she flew out three days ago and at times she has been visiting shelters and preparing supplies for the days

ahead. >> the roads are opened and we can go into communities where we will be delivering meals and snacks and continuing to operate the shelters in those communities. >> she tells us she also helped with relief efforts and it is time now to respond to sandy. the state denied their plan to split millions of dollars. sal legs -- alex savage is here to tell you why the legal fight is not over yet. schools here in the south bay, at issue millions of dollars in redevelopment funds and both sides have worked out an agreement but the state has worked out a deal.

they are certainly disappointed but it is still set to open on the other side. but the unify the district is open. they are ready to earn $45 million and they were earmarked as stadium officials are putting some of that money towards schools. they were open to the idea and an agreement was reached in august to split up the funds. they scrapped the redevelopment agencies and local schools and governments are planning next month for the state to overturn that decision and we will not get a final decision as this will all be worked out until

rain on thursday. i would say it will be here tomorrow and it certainly has no place to go but look at the size of the system on the east coast. i mean from the north all the way to the great lakes, it is wobbling towards the west and it is so massive. a little bit warmer than that what it was and it will bring us rain late wednesday more likely into thursday and you can see our cloud rain forecast and it is holding off on that rain but it simply runs into a wall and it will crawl into the northern part of the state late wednesday into thursday and temperatures are still nice. upper 50s to near 60 degrees and it will be gone usually it

rivered extensive damage and it is still unclear when they will be able to open. they have destroyed a raging fire in queens new york. it's still burning in breezy point and this is on the rockaway peninsular. flooding from super storm sandy slowed down the firefighters and also they had a problem with water pressure to put the fire out. 200 firefighters still have to check if anybody has been killed or trapped. it will take awhile to get the power back on to millions who have lost power. they are helping now to get the lights back on. the huge storm is affecting people here, hundreds of flights out of the bay area has been there and we will tell you

throughout west virginia. it has a lot of energy and it's going to be moving very slowly and our testimony is moving slowly as well. it is trying. 60s and 70s on the temperatures and it will be sunny after this fog burns off. it will be okay but there are some low clouds around. very similar to what we are seeing, that is offshore an extended has rain and here we go with your weekend already in view, hurricane sandy shows a look at some of the damage with significant flooding, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, well it's cold here in virginia beach and breezy as well and it is also calm and clear and that's a relief for folks in

this region. they have got more than 9 inches of rain and the ground is waterlogged and there is flooding in low-lying areas and power outages is something they are dealing with all over this region. they have wide range conditions including flooding fires and snow. a record 13-foot storm surge has left much of the area flooded. utility crews were forced to shut off power and have left thousands in the dark. they also had to be evacuated after many of them failed. >> the storm created a mass section of the its famed boardwalk that was destroyed. and in parts of connecticut, the state's government is

telling residents to seek hire ground after major flooding. >> reporter: this widespread super storm is urning its -- earning its title bring parts back to west virginia. >> the word has gotten out, you don't have to travel, take care of yourself, stay at home and make sure you are okay. >> the president was receiving updates throughout the night about the damage and he spoke with the governors of all the affected states and this morning he received another briefing on the east coast, i am jennifer davis, fox news, back to you. and a key ruling is coming today for the pipeline disaster and how this could them on the hook for bigger pay outs. there is a little bit of

the 6.2 after shock followed the 7.7 quake and that one prompted a tsunami warning in southern california. both are located off the queen charlotte islands. there was 6.3 in that same general area on sunday. back here at home, all lanes in what -- sonoma are closed because of a deadly accident which happened before 9:00 in the sea ranch area. chp said a car went over the road and burst into flames. the driver was pronounced dead at the scene and nobody else was hurt. let's check in with sal for traffic, sal? pam and dave, we have had some fog moving around the area and some areas are foggy and it's changing out to the toll
