happy new year. i'm beth troutman. we're giving you one last look at our favorite videos from 2 2 new ones from 2013. let's get started "right this minute." ♪ fire on the water. as smoke billows from a boat. >> but wait. >> you're about to see another boat go all james bond to save the day. >> 911 emergency. where is your emergency? >> a frightened 12-year-old tries to hide from a mad man. >> the intruder was inside her home. >> what he didn't know, this kid was packing heat. hear her amazing story.

a woman is shaking her booty but not in a good way. >> i don't think it's supposed to do that. >> the hashock and awful video after a botched surgery. >> shouldn't it be secure and sewn into place? >> who wins the clash of the titans over. >> a good looking doe. >> how do they have enough energy to get it on. >> never too tired, nerve. >> bad day for boaters. easy to say why. a huge boat fire on lake lyndon on the south island of new zealand. lots of black smoke. lots of flames. the captain tried to start this thing after it died in the middle of the lake and he bailed because you can see a fire started and there's two big gas containers on board. it's toast at this point. but wait. somebody is coming to the rescue. >> what are you doing? >> no! no! >> this speed boat comes by and launches a ton of water.

does that quick turn. basically i sends a wave over this thing. boat ends up doing four passes in all. keep watching. it's working. that's the second pass there. you see less and less smoke. no more black smoke. you don't see the flames anymore. here he comes again for the third pass. superboater, you know? he should be wearing a cape. eventually they come by for the fourth pass, by the end of the video, there is still some smoke but considerably better from where the video began. if you look at it here, compared to here, completely crazy. four passes and with that speed boat got this thing somewhat under control. >> it's a risky move for him because that water's shallow in that area. he could have done damage to his boat. had to be fun. >> spraying water on your friend. >> they're out there, looks like a remote, desolate area. to get the firefighters there would probably take forever. this guy sprung into action, used his boat as a fire

extinguisher. >> do you think they teach this in boating class. >> ever see a fire around the lake, this is what you do. >> this is not stuff you learn in the classroom. this is stuff you do from the gut. >> kendra st. claire is a brave little 12-year-old and she's even being called a hero. ktn caught up with her to talk with her about what happened when an intruder tried to break foo h into her home while she was there by herself. watching tv when she heard someone ring the doorbell. she went to look through the blinds, didn't recognize the man that was there. he started pounding on the door. she got really scared, called her mom. >> i said go get the gun and get in my closet now and call 911. >> which is exactly what she did. >> 911 emergency. where is your emergency? >> i'm at my house.

someone's trying to get in my house, i do not know who they are. >> i have a deputy en route. stay on the phone with me. >> okay. i think they're in the house. >> the intruder was inside her home. >> like a horror movie. >> please! >> have your mom's gun there? >> i do. i have it in my hands. >> listen to what she said she did next. >> when he turned the door handle i shot toward him with the gun and hit him right here in the arm. >> did you shoot the gun, honey? >> yes. >> she shot through the door? >> she shot through the closet door where she was at when she saw the doorknob shaking. >> officers are outside now. i need you to put the gun down. the suspect is no longer inside the house. they're out side with the suspect. put the gun down okay? >> okay. it's all right.

the very cute little girl we're looking at is nearly 7-month-old maya. she looks very happy. take a look at those picture. right away you notice her face is red, swollen. you won't believe this. what looked like a string e-americans from the swollen area. maya's pediatrician found a two-inch long feather from her next. >> like a bird's fet. >> a feather that looked like it fell out of your pillow. >> a feather she swallow or inhaled. >> they don't know when enit

happened. we have one down pillow but hardly use it. we have her parents and maya joining us. what was the moment like when you realized it was a feter? >> when the doctor pulled out, she was shocked. a feather. a feather? what do you mean? >> did you save the feather? >> here in the specimen jar. >> what was going through your mind? >> my wife thought it was a spider bite. i thought it was a swollen node. when we woke up, it was 1 1/2 times bigger a pimple looking thing. the doctored used a need toll drain. it wouldn't drain. a specialist game and he nicked the scab. he's like it looks like it's going to break up. five minutes later we started to seeing a half inch string thing sticking out and her pediatrician showed up, what is that? her thinking she either inhaled it, swallowed it, it got lodged in the throat and the body

rejected it and slowly pushing it out the side of her neck. >> doctors have any explanation? is this like anything they've seen before. >> a specialist one time seen something else similar but it wasn't a feather. >> you did good. >> did maya appear irritated? agitated? >> you wouldn't have known there was something in her next. only time she'd cry she'd see a nurse, she got poked, five, six times. we noticed sheet starred pulling. we didn't know if it was signs of an ear infection. >> imagine learning the story later in life? >> if she's a trooper, she's going to think serious street cred. >> get a line up here. >> smoke and flames on the l.a. streets early in the morning. this dash cam approaching the fire. you can see fire trucks already on scene. the fire blazing from the building coming from a gas station.

the urgency maybe up just a notch. spark you see blasting from the front of the building are the fefighters trying to grind off tsecuri window. they're having a tough time gaining access. that's not the only thing keeping firefighters at bay. two security dogs that are also nearby. the fire's coming from the market. that is attached to the gas station and one of the auto base. firefighters also have to contend with a woman who is distraught over the two dogs that she believes are trapped in the fire. she comes wheeling up to the front of the building right in front of the fire truck and drives over their hoses. >> geez. >> who is this woman? is she a worker at the gas station? how does she even know about the dog? >> i believe one of the owners of one of the businesses. she fears the dogs may have been killed. but look closely and in slow motion you see the dogs running out of the yard next to the

fire. thankfully, both dogs were okay. nobody was injured in the fire. and the firefighters took 40 minutes to get it under control, did not spread. >> this video's really making the rounds online. no pun intended. you'll see why. let this be a warning to all ladies out there, don't do this. >> this is my implant slipping backwards. >> what? what? >> that is a botched implant gone wrong. >> i thought her butt was pressed up against a piece of glass or something. >> that is her butt cheek with an implant that basically inverted itself inside her butt. what's supposed to be the nice round bulgy part is inside and the flat part is now outside. >> she's trying to -- >> with her own hand starts maneuvering it and fixing it so

about cameron? >> a friend of mine, tannia, is one of the owners of the random acts of christmas. she was talking about how they like to help these kids and jokingly, i said that if she wanted to make a 13-year-old with down syndrome happy all she had to do was have ironman land in your yard. we received an e-mail that she said operation ironman is in motion. she sent out a call and several people replied. and this ironman, matthew, took his energy and effort to create this. amazing. >> what did that feel like to see your son's face light up when he saw this message? >> i see him smile from that, it was just tears. the whole time in the video he had a smile bigger than this. >> brian, what would you like to say to the community as a whole? >> i would tell them that random act of christmas is excellent.
