on thursday, february 28th. here's some amazing images of the eruption. as you can see, smoke, lava, debris all flying. videos of this eruption are popping up all over the internet. as you can see in this video, close-up footage of rolling stones down the side of mt. etna. you can see the lavya underneath. you can see the lava within the stones. no evacuations of cities were required due to mt. etna's eruption. this is one of the most active volcanos on our planet and very rarely causes damage to surrounding communities. some of the people who got close to mt. etna had to deal with something a little different. something i never seen before. small stones are falling from the sky on to these people. >> no wonder they're wearing helmets. >> we've seen a couple of mt.

etna videos the past couple of weeks should we be concerned? >> no. >> this particular eruption is spewing all kinds of rocks. >> thank you, professor. i love that you are not concerned at all about an erupting volcano. >> she's our volcano expert. she loves this stuff. this is one of the most active vol tcanos around the world. this kind of eruption is not something that scares the residents. this is just the earth at work. we've seen firefighters rescue dogs from pipes, cats from trees, but i've never seen a bird rescued from a tree. >> aren't birds supposed to be in trees? this is a pet parakeet. at first they tried the water can. that didn't work. then they tried the booster line. it couldn't reach. >> it's weird, because they'll shoot the bird with water. it will fly away. >> unless it has clipped wings

domestic violence. apparently police say he broke into his exgirlfriend's house attacking her roommate, leaving that guy with a broken foot. he escaped and police chased him to the street. >> so his answer is to scurry up a tree? >> mm-hmm. >> where did he think he was going to go once he got up there? >> not a horrible plan if there are leaves on the tree. you kind of stick out. >> his name is victor mason. he had previously been charged and served time for attempted robbery in the first degree and assault in the third degree. he had just been released from jail back in april of 2012. there were a ton of police and firefighters at the bottom waiting for him to fall. look at the trees, they're thin. at any given point he could come crashing down. after three hours of being up there, he eventually climbed
