bay marine works. >> reporter: they are hoisting it so that crews can assess the damage. a salvage company came to tow it after it ran aground yesterday. police arrested two women and a man on board after stealing the sailboat from the marina. they became suspicious after they refused help. these accused thieves did quite a bit of damage during their joyride. >> we know the rutter is bent and we know we are taking a bit of water and we assume we are taking it from the rutter shaft. as to what else we suspect the engine was burned up, we are pretty sure the propeller is

. welcome back, a winter storm is on the way for the sierra. many are bracing for more bad weather, heavy snow is expected to hit several states and it is already snowing in minnesota and late last night people stocked up to prepare for the storm. up to 10 inches of fresh snow is about to fall and could affect chicago's airport. back here we are also expecting snow and this is a live look where a winter storm warning is in effect. they have had the dryest january on record and if you are planning to head to the sierra don't forget to bring chains. hugo chavez's health is very delicate and they say he has a weak ended immune -- weak

low cloud formation is not quite as big as we saw yesterday morning and we are chillier with the cloud formation and here is that nice storm bringing some snow to the mountains and rain to our state but we have an entire day before the rain will enter the bay area. the winter storm warning is about 3,000 feet for the sierra and starts at 4:00 and will last into wednesday and there is an advisory around the lake that will start later today and we have a winter weather advisory. for snow and blowing snow, up to of 0 miles per hour -- 60 mile-per-hour gusts and how much snow do i see? anywhere from a foot to about a foot and a half. that is good news. the rain will stay north, most of it and we are not likely to need that umbrella and this is when the rain will develop, first over the north bay and

dealing with this problem. they are looking at that huge sinkhole which swallowed a man. they are trying to cover the hole but they are trying to figure out how big this hole really is. another hole opened three miles away and that's in a backyard and it is not threatening any lives or homes at this time. they found an assault rifle that was stolen from over the weekend. the semiautomatic was similar to this one. police say it was taken in an area south of market street. police have not said how or wear it was -- where it was recovered and more information is expected to be released sometime this weekend. a federal judge is named frasier and he will start march 12th. frasier is a baltimore police commissioner and spent 8 years with the police department. he asked to have the chief
