. hundreds expected to start arriving in a few minutes. the community getting ready to say good-bye to two fallen officers. it happened just hours ago. a chilling new threat from the government of north korea. it involves nuclear weapons and

the united states. >> we are live in san francisco where two stabbings happened with in an hour of each other in the same neighborhood. we will tell you if police believe they are connected. >> rain showers drifting closer to the coastline. when the rain starts in your neighborhood. mornings on 2 starts right now. >> compete bay area news coverage starts right now. this is ktvu mornings on two. >> good morning. welcome to mornings on two. i'm dave clark. >> i'm tori campbell. we start with a public memorial seldom seen in the bay area. today's service is in honor of two fallen heroes from santa cruz. the two officers were killed in the line of duty last week. detective baker was getting ready to retire after serving 28 years with the police department. detective butler was a ten year veteran who had worked as a

patrol officer and hostage negotiator. sal will cover the memorial procession from santa cruz to san jose. we are in san grows -- we start with claudine in santa cruz. >> reporter: we are standing at the start of the procession. the folks told to gather here starting about seven this morning and in the last several minutes we have seen activity. take a look to the side of me. you can see three buses that are lined up along this street. they have the santa cruz police emblem on them and a sign. we assume possibly members of the department will ride these buses down the procession. i want to show you what's happening in this parking lot just near the boardwalk here. you can see motor officers starting to line up their motorcycles. they will stage there and then move to the start of the procession. this procession, ready to leave about 8:45 but everybody was told to gather about seven this

morning so it'll just get busier. the morning has started in this community. everybody is still trying to dumb to terms with the loss of the two officers. there was a memorial last night at the santa cruz memorial funeral home. just a chance for people, friends, family, strangers to come. there is a private viewing earlier this week for fellow officers and family members. when you talk about this procession they say they are expecting at least two hundred vehicles to be involved but that's just from with in santa cruz county. the county deputy sheriff said that the -- they could have many more and they expect a lot of people as well along the route. >> i expect there will be people in the street waving flags, kids waving, people paying respects over bridges, it's the longest procession i have been in and i think this will be a really good example of -- of the dedication and their career here.

>> reporter: back live out here in santa cruz. you are taking a look at some of the officers lining up, getting ready to stage and getting in to place for this procession that leaves? just about 90 minutes. they have cones set up throughout this parking lot and beyond and again the procession itself is going to stretch two miles as it makes that 33-mile trek to san jose and the hp pavilion. of course that is the only place they said was large enough to hold the tens of thousands of people expected to come to pay tribute and that is where we find jenene. >> reporter: it'll be an emotional day here at the hp pavilion. later today traffic will be stopped along autumn street because that's where the procession will come through and then it'll go into the parking lot here at the shark tank. the hp pavilion here can hold nearly 20,000 people and that is why santa cruz police decided to move the memorial to

san jose because of all the people expected. the service will be honoring sergeant lauren baker and elizabeth butler. she was with the department for ten years and worked in hostage negotiations, a drug agent, also in patrol and investigations. she graduated from santa cruz and leaves behind her boyfriend and their two young sons. sergeant baker was a 28 year veteran and leaves a wife, two daughters and a son. the chief has described him as his m entor. he told us that baker would be happy that the service was being held at the hp pavilion. >> he had tickets to the sharks games, he spent a lot of time there. he loved hockey. he was a big san francisco giants fan. he had season tickets to the games. he loved nascar and he did have that -- that south bay connection over the hill. >> reporter: the chief said there will be law enforcement from all over the state and

across the country in attendance. there will be a helicopter fly over and a performance by an american idol singer after a request of the fallen officer's family. the former defense secretary, california attorney general and l coming today to pay their respects. again we don't really have a number of people who are going to show up but it's estimated maybe between 12 to 15,000 people will be here. coming back out here live, you are looking at a picture. we see a police car there, not sure if that's from the santa cruz police department or san jose police department but here for the preparations, for the memorial service in a few hours here. again many people expected to show up and that's bound to tie up traffic on all the highways. for that part of the story we go to sal. >> reporter: thank you. here is a map of the procession route from santa cruz to san

jose. the 200 car motorcade will leave at about 8:45 though it could be a little later. that's around the time it'll leave. the trip is about 33 miles, a procession is expected to travel about 30 miles an hour over highway 17. drivers will not be allowed to pass on the motorcade and there will be some big delays on 17, 85a and 87. we will cover it for you all morning. this is probably a good area to avoid during those hours because there will be significant delays. let's go back to the desk. >> thank you. stay with us all day long for special coverage of today's memorial. we have team coverage during the next two hours here on mornings on 2. the coverage of the memorial then starts at 11:00 with the service starting at noon. it's 7:07. happening now the un scout

council is voting on if they will increase sanctions on north korea. this is a live picture out of the united nations. this would be the 4th round of sanctions they have imposed on north korea. coming up at 7:35, the threat north korea is making against the united states this morning in revenge for the increased sanctions. >> back here at home new this morning san francisco police investigating two separate stabbings overnight. the first one was near mission and 17th street. the other was at 25th and folsom. we are in the neighborhood and the stabbings happened with in a couple blocks much each other. >> reporter: yes and they happened with in only an hour of each other actually. sadly folks we have talked to say they aren't surprised by this. they say violence is a way of life here in the mission and you always have to be on your guard. the most recent stabbing happened here at 25th around 3:30 this morning.

police say two suspects approached a man, stabbed him and ran. the 30-year-old victim is at the hospital. his injuries considered nonlife threatening. about an hour later, earlier i should say off mission street near 17th violence broke out in an alley. a 32-year-old was involved in a fight. he was stabbed in the stomach. we aren't sure how many times and then everybody scattered. police say that the victim is in surgery. still in critical condition. they have a suspect in custody. he is being questioned right now. we are waiting to hear if he will be arrested. he is only described as a latino. there may be one other suspect still outstanding also described as latino but police do not believe that the stabbing is gang related. authorities do not believe that the two stabbings are connected in any way but we will stay on top of this for you this morning, let you know if there are any updates on the condition of that victim and any updates on arrests. we are live in san francisco.

ktvu channel 2news. >> thank you. it's 7:09. want to check in with sal telling us about trouble near the bridge. >> that's right. just west of the bridge a truck lost a load of scaffolding. this is reported by bill, who use to be the fire spokesman and was driving from vallejo down to the main part of the bay area, down to oakland and saw this on the way. just after the bridge. he said that a truck lost a load and it is in many of the lanes and traffic is beginning just now to slow. not sure if chp knows about this yet. right now 80 westbound is going to be slow as you drive through that area. then slow after that as well. driving from -- because of earlier problems in berkeley which have been cleared. 80 isn't a great drive right now as you drive west. let's go to the toll plaza where you will see a back up here at the toll plaza. eight to ten minutes which is lighter than usual.

driving in san jose, northbound 280 looks good, so does 101, 85, and 17. >> good morning. here is the live camera looking toward the bay. most of the bay area so far this morning on the dry side. just lots of cloud cover and cool temperatures, that will be changing later on today. here you can see a live storm tracker 2. we have been watching this cluster of rain showers since 4:30. they haven't been moving to much. liting bit of activity moving in to parts of marin. we will come in tight closer to point reyes and just outside of the nevado area to the north and west. with that the rain source, we have a chance this morning and then increasing chances for later this morning and into the afternoon. as far as temperatures, not to much day can. upper 30s to the 40s. san francisco downtown 46, haywood 43, livermore in the upper 30s at 38 degrees. the weather system out here. this will be the source of rain for today and the chance of a

few thunderstorms, this is on track toward southern california to move toward southern california tonight and tomorrow. between now and then showers developing here in the bay area. there is a chance of a thunderstorm and with that cold air in place the local snow levels coming down to about 3,000 feet. this forecast model by ten showing you the increase in the rain coverage especially near the coast, toward san francisco. basically toward the western third of the bay area and increasing in coverage early this afternoon and still scattered showers at five. we will scale back on some of the activity throughout the evening, especially by late tonight and into tomorrow morning. still starting out friday morning with plenty of clouds, for today this morning there is that chance of a shower at eight and then we will bump up the chances, showers and once again there is that chance of a thunderstorm and temperatures maxing out. not to much of a warm up. 53 to 58 trees for afternoon highs. here is the look ahead. the five-day forecast into friday, starting outo the day with more cloud cover, partly cloudy into the afternoon.

rain will work through the forecast this afternoon. >> it's 7:15. new this morning the un security council is demanding the immediate release of 21un peace keepers being held by rebels in syria. in this video they sightly will hold the peace keepers until the government troops withdraw from the area. the peace keepers are from the philippines. they are part of a force that monitoring the cease fire between israeli and syrian troops along the border. later today the president will sign renew 58 of the violence against [inaudible] act. it was expanded to give protection to gays. it also gives tribal courts the power to prosecute nonindians who attack their native american partners on tribal land. >> the united states senate now back to official business this morning, after very unexpected night.

a 13 hour filibuster by a senator protesting the use of drones in the united states and also the nominee to be the director of the cia. scott mcfarland was on captain million hill and he is back with us live this morning. >> reporter: it began at about noon yesterday, ended well after midnight. ran paul stayed on his feet the entire time talking about his concerns that the united states is using drones, about that man, the nominee to be leader of the cia. he also criticized the administration for not handing over enough information about him. >> here is a guy who the president promotes as being transparent, and wanting to give a lot of information to the american people, he won't respond to a united states senator. >> it's possible there will be a vote on the nomination saturday. that information being passed along to us in just the last

somewhere in silicon valley not menlo park. they are expanding to silicon valley since 12% of all new applications come from that area. new york city mayor is urging head phone users to turn down the music. the mayor and the health department are joininger fuses on a new health initiative. they are developing a campaign to inform people how to safely use personal music devices. the health department said ear buds cause more damage to ears because of how they are worn. music lovers say they just don't need the city's help with this issue. >> a federal jury awarded more than a million dollars to the former manager of a san francisco radio shack store. frank allen was fired after running the store for 12 years. according to his age discrimination lawsuit he had more than doubled the store's sales and one awards as well as performance bonuses. he was forced out just weeks

after the 23-year-old manager of another store called him and said that the company wanted some younger ideas. laughing out loud in his own house could cost a man in new york. that is robert, he said his neighbor called the police because he was laughing to loud. now he has been given two tickets for disturbing the peace. each carries a 250-dollar fine or 15 days in jail. he said he will fight the tickets. >> i won't be bullied or pushed around or told what to do. >> he said that he and his neighbor never got along. i said his neighbor is always mocking him and making rude comments. >> we have breaking news from new york city. the united nations, that is -- the ambassador susan rice and un security council has just

approved new sanctions against north korea for had the latest nuclear test. >> this resolution will also counter efforts to abuse diplomatic privileges, to advance it's nuclear activities. it'll now be much harder for such diplomats to get technology or divert funds to the nuclear program without being detected and expelled. resolution 2094 further bans the transfer to and from north korea of specific ballistic missile, nuclear and chemical weapons related technology. it lists new prohibited items and calls on states to block any item at all that could contribute to the activities. it names additional. >> you have been listening live to the ambassador to the un susan rice talking about some of the sanctions the

. there is a big change ahead for the nation's largest railroad. they use diesel fuel more than any other company in the nation but for the united states navy. the railroad is planning to switch from that to natural gas. it's only a 4th of the cost. it's probably more plentiful to. but some say that the change is a mixed blessing. >> natural gas gives you a benefit over some of the heavy dirty oils and over coal. the problem is its price is so low that investment and other technologies that we will need in the coming years looks less site exciting to many. >> it's not clear if natural gas will bridge or block the use of cleaner fuels. the canada national railroad started a natural gas project

six months ago. american railroads haven't announced yet when they will start. >> the numbers are in and this year the bay area has had one of its cleanest air quality seasons. a regional pollution agency said reduced wood burning is partly responsible. they say another factor is an increased awareness about the spare the air program. sonoma has the most violation and marin was second but had the most complaints. the bay area started the program 22 years ago. want to check in with sal and see what's happening on the roads, problems? >> we do have some slow traffic. we have a problem just off the bridge. a truck lost a load of scaffolding west 80 near the crockett exit, westbound traffic is going to be slow. i think the bigger problem is -- we have a lot of slow traffic because of an earlier

problem in berkeley. those problems are gone but the traffic on 80 is very slow. when you get to the bay bridge toll plaza it's very slow. it's about a 20 minute delay at the plaza now. if you are driving in the east bay on 880 north and south bound this traffic is moderate. >> good morning to you. lots of cloud cover so far. not much in the way of rain but it's closing n at least the rain shower activity closing in on the shoreline. here you can seat loop over the past hour, the most recent majeure i'm watching some of this green approaching the coastline out toward point reyes. with that rain source, coverage on the increase, chance this morning and a better bet late this morning and into the afternoon. here is a look at five-day. another round of rain for today with the chance of a few thunderstorms, more clouds for friday morning, partly cloudy by the afternoon with the weekend always in view. no rain threat.

. good morning. we have developing news, this is on -- in san leandro. live pictures of a car that smashed in to a power pole. pretty badly damaged car can. the driver told police that it may have been because he fell asleep at the wheel. this is one of those things where the pole was severely damaged. some high tension lines on that pole. one customer was without -- is without power. briefly other people without power as well. you can see the pole is down and pg&e is on the scene. this is in san leandro near the corner of dutton and glenn drive. one person without power, several without power for a while. pg&e is fixing the problem

right now. let's go back to the desk. >> thank you. it's a day of mourning as two police officers honored a huge public memorial. lauren baker and elizabeth butler were killed in the line of duty. we are outside the hp pavilion where this morning's public memorial will be held. >> reporter: lots of tears are expected to be shed here at the pavilion. just in the last five minutes here on the screen behind me you will be able to see it as soon as this bus moves, they have put up a picture of both of the officers that were lost. now back out here further down the road on autumn street you can see a group of police officers have gathered, they are getting ready to prepare for this memorial service. we know that the motorcade will come down here on autumn street before it headss in to the pavilion. the two were both shot and

killed by a suspect last tuesday during an investigation. now baker was close to retiring after being with the department 28 years. he leaves a wife, two daughters and a son who worked at the police department. butler was with the force for ten years working in investigations, she leaves her boyfriend and her two young sons. now this is a first time the police department has lost an officer in the line of duty and the department has been experiencing lots of support from the community. in fact 12 to 15,000 people are expected to come to the pavilion for the memorial today. the procession from santa cruz to san jose is expected to tie up traffic this morning when it leaves at 8:45 a.m. chp particulars will stop traffic at each of the on-ramp that will travel at around 40 miles an hour. >> be patient because -- you know you will be stopped for a while. we are estimating a mile long procession, it could belonger. you will be stopped for a

while. please be patient. >> reporter: today in attendance at the memorial which starts at 12 will be the governor, california attorney general, santa cruz police chief and santa cruz county sheriff. former defense secretary will also be here at the memorial service. he represented the central coast for years. law enforcement from all over the state and country are expected. the families of the two actually made a request to have a performance by james durbin a santa cruz native and he competed on american idol. he will sing during the service. we will have much more and update you as to what is going on out here as mornings on 2 continues. reporting live. ktvu channel 2news. >> thank you. hundreds of people in santa cruz will not be able to make today's ceremony in san jose so they will attend a public

viewing, so they did attend a public viewing for the two officers last night. many were overcome with emotion as they saw the flag draped caskets of the officers killed in the line of duty last week. the arena in santa cruz will open its doors at ten for a live broadcast of the memorial and people can also watch the ceremony at the theater in downtown santa cruz. free parking will be available at the park. here is a map of the procession route. the 200 car motorcade escorting family members will leave around 8:45 this morning. the trip to the pavilion is about 33 miles up highway 17, the procession is expect expected to travel 30 to 40 miles an hour on highway 17. drivers will not be allowed to pass and they can expect delays. then more delays are expected this afternoon when the procession returns to santa cruz around 4:00 p.m.

new sanctions quickly this morning against north korea mainly in response to their nuclear tests. that test was on february 12th. north korea also threatened to cancel the 1953cease fire that ended the war with the south. despite the talk and rhetoric it's believed they are still years from having technology to launch a nuclear missile. south korea said they have noticed an increase in military drills. they said the drills unusually grand in scale. the secretary to the un spoke about the sanctions just moments ago. here is what she said >> this resolution lists a number of luxury goods that cannot be sold to north korea. as a result north korea's ruling elite who have been living large while hurting their people will pay a direct

price for this nuclear test. >> north korea accuses the united states of using joint military drills with the south as a launch pad for nuclear war. despite the threats the military went ahead with the training course. wording in the sanctions is also said to hurt the activities of banks in north korea that funnel money into the country. china also supports sanctions against the country. we will continue to follow this throughout the morning, for now i'm brian flores. >> all right. thank you. let's check in with sal on the drive. how are we holing up? >> doing well in most areas. we are looking at the east bay and looking at the traffic getting in to downtown oakland. little bit of slowing on 880 northbound. not a huge delay here driving up past the coliseum. the morning drive looks good. westbound bay bridge. it's backed up to the end of -- the 880 over crossing, about a ten to 15 minute delay.

still a lot of slow traffic on 80 westbound as you drive toward the maze. now let's go to the weather. >> hi. we are taking a live look outside. lots of cloud cover. nice to see all the green hills, not a lot of rain but it helps out a little bit. we will take all we can get. mostly cloudy skies, since 4:30 we have been tracking the showers off shore. not moving to much but a few sprinkles, few showers. these are closer live storm tracker 2 and probably over the past 20 minutes, i had noticed the increase in the coverage out here to the west and we will come in tighter up in parts of the north bay, parts of marin and sonoma. light rain showers here and also out toward basically in the park area as well. there is a live doppler sweep showing you the current shower pattern and we have more activity in the forecast for today. as far as current temperatures not warming up to much just wet. upper 30s for santa rosa, napa,

oakland 47 and san jose currently checking in 41 degrees. the satellite, the radar, the circulation just to the west. this will be the source of rain for today and the possibility of a few thunderstorms this is on track to head toward southern california late tonight and tomorrow morning. a winter weather advisory in place just to the south of the bay area. we could have snow up above 3,000 feet. accumulating snow to the south for the hills of monterey. up above 3500 feet. potentially up higher. some of the rain showers on the increase. 10:00, favoring the coast and out towards. the western third of the bay area, not a lot of coverage for the inland spots and then into the afternoon hours we increase the rain chances and there is the chance of a thunderstorm throughout the day. with the cold air in place snow levels coming down to about

you. sal standing by. he is covering the route of the memorial procession from santa cruz to san jose. we are in san jose where the memorial will take place. we will start with claudine. >> reporter: this is where the procession will start. you can see police officers have brought their vehicles up and they are lining the streets. this is stretches from where we are standing down third street. the line of cars, just the beginning of what you will see in the procession, best estimates could be two miles long. the -- you know i talked to the deputy chief of the department. he was faulking about what it means to see this support. what does it mean to come together on such a difficult day? >> they are like our family. they are our brothers and sisters. this is what you would do for your family and the same in law

enforcement. this means a lot to officers, everybody wanted to be here. you know, that's why you see all the buses because it's for the over flow of families, friends, just people that support the police department. >> reporter: how will it go this morning? i know its estimated 200 vehicles in santa cruz county. how will it happen over the next hour? >> the next hour, around 8:30 you will see the limos come through with the family members. then once they come through, we will pull out about 8:45 and start going through the streets of assistantsa cruz to get to highway 17 and then slowly make our way over highway 17. lue see santa cruz police department, sheriff's office, the fire department, watsonville, you will see other agencies that are here. officers that used to work here. working in other agencies, come here because they knew them both and they want to pay

that is where we are standing by with preparations underway. >> reporter: here at the pavilion and just a couple of minutes they are about to make sure that the flag that you see right there is lowered to half mast. that's supposed to be happening in just a minutes . you can see autumn street has been blocked off to traffic. we know that the motorcade will come down here before it proceeds in to the pavilion. in the last half hour, they put up the two fallen officers pictures. they want to make sure they are definitely paying respect to these two fallen officers. sergeant baker and detective butler are being remembered today. baker was with the santa cruz department for 28 years, he leaves a wife and two daughters and a son who works at the department. butler was a veteran of the force for ten years. she leaves her partner and two young sons. both were shot last tuesday

during an investigation. there has been such a show of support for the department that a venue just wasn't big enough but the pavilion can hold up to 20,000 people. police officers are doing last minute preparations for the service. they are estimating a huge crowd. >> we are expecting from ten to 15,000. that is -- that is going to be a really good respect of showing for the sacrifice they made. i do do expect people to stand on freeway overpasses, lining the streets, making sure that we see them. >> reporter: the chief said there will be law enforcement from all over the state and across the country in attendance. there will be a helicopter fly over and a performance by american idol singer james durbin. that was at the request of the families. former defense secretary, california attorney general and the governor are all coming today to pay respects at the service today. out here live inside the

stabbed him and then ran. the 30-year-old was taken to the hospital. his injuries considered nonlife threatening. there is no description of any suspects. just an hour earlier blocks away off mission street near 17th street, violence broke out in an alley. a 32-year-old was involved in a fight, possibly with people he knew. police say he was stabbed in the stomach. we aren't sure how many times and then everybody scattered. >> i think it's crazy. i get scared coming out here at night and stuff. kind -- i'm new to the area. i'm still learning here and there. >> reporter: police say that the victim from the mission street stabbing had surgery this morning and is in serious condition. inspectors have detained a suspect and he is being questioned and could possibly be arrested. he is only described as latino, and there may be one other suspect still outstanding also describeddas latino. police don't believe that

. stocks are rising on wall street again after the government reported another decrease in the number of people applying for unemployment benefits. retailers are reporting modest sales gains in february. while united states worker production shrank last quarter because of temporary factors. the dow is still in record territory after breaking through its previous all time high. the dow currently up 47 at 14, 343, nasdaq up three, s and p up two. new this morning the ntsb is released an update on its investigation into battery fires on this 787 dream liner. the ntsb is questioning whether the faa and boeing tested the batteries that caught fire on dream liners. the report released today doesn't pinpoint a cause for the fires. boeing gave its plan to deliver the risk of battery fires to the faa last month. the faa could approve the plan

have gotten information that it is actually the monterey county police who are patrolling santa cruz right now because obviously the entire department will be attending today's memorial in san jose. so, the monterey county police department took over late yesterday and they will continue to monitor santa cruz through early tomorrow morning. they are supplying six deputies, one sergeant as well as police vehicles and this is similar to what happened last week when the shootings happened that killed the two officers. obviously the santa cruz police department was in such shock and mourning that they weren't able to really do their probably job of monitoring keeping santa cruz safe. that's when some other -- i think the sheriff as well as the chp stepped into help watch and make sure it's still being policed. these are live pictures news chopper two as you can see some

rolling in to the pavilion. already earlier, before the profession started. they are all here to honor sergeant baker and detective butler who are being remembered today. baker was with the police department for 28 years, he leaves a wife, two daughters and a son who works in the department. butler was a veteran of sports for ten years, she leaves her long term boyfriend and their two young son, both were shot by a suspect last tuesday. there has been such a show of support for the department. the pavilion can hold up to 20,000 people. police officers are doing last minute preparations for the service. police and chp -- other agencies are coordinating the service here. back out here live we are looking at a picture of police directing traffic. that's because here on autumn street this is where the motorcade will becoming down.

traffic will betode up. they blocked off autumn street. lots of police cars and fire agencies, getting ready for the memorial service. reporting live from san jose, ktvu channel 2news. >> thank you. we want to take you back to santa cruz where the procession is just about to get underway. you can see some of the buses there and it looks like some of the cars, the vans, the limos. as they are about to head off for the long procession in highway 17 from santa cruz to san jose. they will be followed by hundreds of police officers, and firefighters and other emergency responders. again as we pan around you can see live look at all the patrol cars, lights flashing, huge, huge line of people lined up to honor and give their respects for the two fallen officers as well as their families. >> can you hear me?

miles an hour. it was -- first supposed to start about 8:45 and sometimes these -- it takes a little whilto get rolling but it looks like they are partly underway. we saw some of the motorcycle officers starting to move and it looks like they are starting to move here as well as they will start the long procession. >> and because of what you are talking about we want to bring sal to come on back because traffic will be affected in a number of ways by what we are watching. >> we saw it dave. people were trying to get over the hill before and 17 is already crowded with people realizing it'll go on between santa cruz and san jose. northbound 17, the route will be 17 north to 85 south. which is the street exit. in downtown san jose. there will be significant delays. at least 200 police cars in a long line. we mentioned after the service a lot of the cars will go back

down. these are live pictures of the cars getting ready. they are beginning to move now. we will see that procession reach downtown santa cruz and then highway 17 very shortly as you can see. this will create major traffic issues for the area and you will not be able to pass the motorcade. they won't let you. plan ahead, plan accordingly and try to stay off the road if you want to avoid major delays. >> that's good advice. we have claudine. she is also on the ground. set the scene for us. what are we watching? >> what you are looking at are all the vehicles getting ready to leave in the procession. you saw the two vehicles come forward, the black colored suv and the -- the humvee. those were the family members. the officers were given a 15 second warning to let them know the family would becoming by. they stood at attention and saluted the families.

we are just now seeing them start -- chp in the front of this procession. the family members and then members of the santa cruz police department that are -- lined up with lights flashing. it's getting ready to go at any moment. they are about 10 minutes passed that point. i'm looking at the streets where they are headed and -- there is an overpass, people standing there, just to let the officers know that this community is behind them, that they mourn today with them. i'm watching the chp vehicles at the very front of the line, starting to move so, picture you are look at all the vehicle that will be moving after this. this is a long procession. 200 vehicles estimated to be in it which means, it'll stretch about two miles long. the car is in front of us, starting to -- you will start to see the movement of the cars
