been cut that directly impact patient care. the report documents skyrocketing executive pay to under sanitized facilities and everyone from state senator leland 83 to board of supervisors here and nurses and patients say what is happening here is not right. >> what we are saying is they need not eliminate the jobs but actually need to increase staffing. they have been dinged with problems with wrong medication, increased bed sores and the jobs they eliminated would actually take care of these problems, instead they are making the problem worse. >> now you ucsf medical officer ken jones says we plan to improve the efficiency of them and negotiate with them, however more than half of our expenses are for our employees and we must also address these costs. now the union here is the largest collective bargaining unit within the university of california system, representing

traffic near downtown oakland was blocked this morning by a downed power pole and live wires. police say something in the back of a truck may have snagged the wires and pulled the power line down.

cancelled classes as they searched the campusing south kingstown, they have not found anyone but have extra security. it was in an office that has classrooms and those. he fights for his life in a hospital there. the paramedic was shot at a stop sign in the oakland hills tuesday found. he was found in his car down a ravine, police have not released any information on a motive or a suspect. right now he remains in critical condition at highland hospital. a sheriff's office official says a young woman lost in a forest for days has been rescued, this is video we just got in. kendall jack was missing for

days after her companion was found last night. they were found there again both missing hikers have now been found. just minutes from now the cal women's basketball team will head to new orleans for their first ever appearance in the final 4, sal castaneda is live on the cal campus where the team got a big send off this morning. good afternoon, sal. >> reporter: good afternoon, tory, yeah, the rain could not dampen anyone spirits here as the women's team from cal prepared for its first ever final 4. now the cal band, the spirit squad and dozens of fans came to hoss pavilion for a morning rally to send the team off. this is the first time a woman's team have gone to the final 4, many fans say they were aware it was predicteded to do well in the tournament with even the president picking the golden bears to be in the final 4. >> president obama and kobe

stocks edging higher on wall street as investors took advantage of a slump to get back into the market and do bargain hunt in, the dow up 30, the nasdaq down 1, s&p up three. we want to take you back live to a process at uc san francisco. this is a campus at the avenue over proposed lay offs, police are standing by and we did see protesters blocking the street and also see police in the street standing by. we do have a reporter on the scene and will continue to cover this both on ktvu.com as well as our later newscasts at channel -- here on channel 2 at 5:00 and 6:00. looks like police are starting to moving right now, so again
