the age of 18 and one child was injured in the house along with an adult. we are staying intouch with investigators on the -- in touch with investigators on the scene and ktvu's maureen naylor is on her way to the scene. breaking news in san francisco. a man has been shot and killed in the city's bay view district. ktvu's ken pritchett just arrived on the scene and joins us now with what he learned. ken? >> reporter: information just coming out now, we talked to san francisco police and here is what they tell us, the shooting took place at 3:45 p.m. here in the bay view. as you said, one man shot and killed. we are hearing that san francisco police arrived on scene, transported the man to the hospital where he died. no description on the shooter. we have video that shows you a

look at the scene. where we are it is just over a hill. you can see evidence technicians, police officers looking at tags on it ground. evidence tags where the shooting took place. i talked to an officer on the scene, he says there is no suspect description at this point, they have a description of a suspect or suspects which they describe as vague. we talked to a neighbor here who says she heard six gun shots this afternoon here at this location. and she said she believes the person who was shot was a man in his 20s. again that is coming from neighbors. no confirmation yet on the age or identity of the victim at this point from san francisco police. reporting live from the bay view, ken pritchett, ktvu channel 2 news. a former director is facing a list of fallany charges for

allocation -- felony charges for allegations to bilk the university out of a lot of money. ktvu's john sasaki is live where word has students furious. john? >> reporter: frank, students are trying to wrap their heads around the idea that that official tried to help bilk the school out of millions. >> reporter: san francisco state. today the former director of the environmental health division appeared in court on a laundry list of felony charges. >> 128 felony counts. commercial bribery, accepting a bribe. >> reporter: he is head of a waste disposal firm. the district attorney said he gave him bribes over 7 years,

totaling $180,000 to over bill the school. >> after he left the university the billings went from $700,000 to $176,000 a year. >> reporter: his attorney said little. >> the case is complex so it will take a while. >> the district attis a graduate of sf state. >> official taking kick packs and adding on the university's dime, it is disturbing. >> reporter: students are offended by the scheme. >> that is money that could goo go to -- that could go to our education. ridiculous. >> to go to the classes we need to graduate, that is a big deal. >> reporter: the two men are in jail and will return to court

on friday. each could face 100 years behind bars if convicted. john sasaki, ktvu channel 2 news. bay bridge officials are debating two options to try to repair the broken bolts. ktvu's consumer editor tom vacar is live with what needs to get done before the bridge can open. tom? >> reporter: the bolts hold down a trailer hitch that holds the bridge together. one repair would put a caller around it, the other a saddle over it. >> reporter: it sounds unbelievable. >> all the testing was conducted. >> reporter: anchor bolts are deemed unsafe for use. 200 are working for now. >> we could recommend replacing them after we open the bridge to traffic because the current bolts are performing today. >> reporter: meanwhile caltrans

the owners of a closed preschool were arrested today on felony sex abuse charges. nazila sharaf and lida sharaf owned university preschool. officials shut it down last month for violations. the district attorney says the two women put babies in danger. this would restrict their ability to breathe comfortably and move. investigators say the sisters did it to try to force the babies to sleep. jury convicted man of hacking into cell phone accounts. investigators say he would access verizon and at&t accounts, order phones and ship them to bay area hotels from there authorities say the phones were set to russia. he faces 10 years in prison and

a $250,000 fine. to our continuing coverage of the boston marathon bombings. the streets arba open tonight. boylston street reopened for the first time since the bombings, this as the two suspects, tamerlan tsarnaev and dzhokar tsarnaev might have been planning to flee to new york. authorities are looking into claims by their uncle that tamerlan tsarnaev was brainwashed by a friend who had converted to islam. there are also reports that the parents of the brothers spoke to u.s. investigators today. in cambridge thousands of people gathered to pay respects today to fallen m.i.t. officer sean collier. >> the memorial service for the 27-year-old officer was held on the school's campus. law enforcement aofficers from all across the country --

we have new information on a developing story we brought you at the stop of this newscast. we know more about the injuries of a crash that sent a car into a home. a mother and five-year-old child was inside that home. the five-year-old has minor injuries. the mother more serious injuries. three people were in the car, they were also hurt. this happened two hours ago at lee hour and ann way. you are looking at video from news chopper 2. investigators tell ktvu the two cars may have been racing. they are going to get the battle of their lives. i am not going to give up till the last hour. >> a fired up governor jerry brown promising to bring it to

you right now we are at burke and third street here where you can see a muni train, this i am told from san francisco police is the t train, muni train, heading southbound when this delivery truck made a left turn in front of the muni train. the police department tells me that this happened, the call came in at 5:59 p.m., just a short time ago. we did about go about it till we were rolling back to the station after our previous record and we came on the accident scene. according to san francisco police, a handful of passengers were on the muni train, 5, 6 passengers. unknown on injuries but it doesn't appear to be anything significant in terms of any injuries if there were injuries to the 5, 6 emergencies on this muni train. again, t train, heading southbound on third street. what we are seeing is this was

i feel, as human beings, we need more training in basic social skills-- conversational distance. don't you hate people that talk into your mouth like you're a clown at a drive-thru? and handshakes is the worst. there's absolutely no guidelines for handshakes. you know how many people-- too strong, too weak. sometimes they give you the 3/4 handshake-- just the fingers. early release, late release. sometimes people will dispute your release. you've let go. they're hanging on. i have actually said to people, "hey, the handshake is over." too many pumps, coming in too high. too sweaty, from too far away. sometimes a guy will give you a strong grip, late release, and pull you in for the too-close conversation.
