9:00 am
. hello, everybody, i'm beth prout. we're going to get this week started with some great videos "right this minute." [ music playing ] >> dangerously off course, accepting two drivers into the rapids. >> you can hear the spectators right away, saying there's one, where's the other? >> see the agonizing wait for the lost driver to surface. he hikes over molten lava to get this shot. >> you don't know how hot t. lava is still hot underneath.
9:01 am
>> why burned feet was a small price to pay for some amazeing images. this guy really, really, really likes "ironman 3." now he's the man behind one elaborate suit. >> michael, be honest, do you put this suit on and jump around your room and presend you are ironman? >> yes, well, why not? >> and a real class prank in the park. >> you got to stabilize the line over there. >> the guy who had them running from an imaginary lion. >> please stay calm. >> the 29th annual jet boat race in riggin idaho on the salmon river. it's a 3-day event. here we see two competitors going through the area of the course that has the most extreme rapids. now, keep your eye on this boat that is trailing at this point. this first one comes whizzing
9:02 am
by. you can see them moving. now, watch this dreamboat. as can you see, he was trying to pass in this sort of dangerous area two all these rapids, completely gets out of shape, goes to the left, runs into the rocks. as you saw, there are a lot of people watching this, which is why we have another angle of this crash. there are two people on each of tease boats. watch this one, a green boat crashes into the rocks. deep your eye on the people in there. the boat flipped. now, they're in the water. you see one guy's head pop up immediately, but apparently the other guy spent 45 seconds to reach the surface. >> yeah! [ cheers ] >> he said, it was the longest he's ever held his breath and if he was down there one more second, it would have been his last. >> oh, you're kidding. was he pinned inside his boat? >> he got crashed in his boat. he had helmet on.

he has his gear on. >> heavy pressure on the water. consider get all that moving water pressed against that boat. >> it could have been holding. >> if it went down perpendicular, so you got that flowing water pushing uconnstantly in. >> now the guy that uploaded this video said he did see both of tease guys walkling around after the event. they were in good spirits. apparently shlt they were both okay, but no word on the boat. this is the moment that sumpter county bus driver says she was attacked by a 17-year-old student. this is under surveillance footage from inside the school bus. the 17-year-old student is the one who has her arms out at this school bus driver. >> oh. >> that bus driver is 61-year-old dolores rainwater. and she lost her job as a result of this scuffle. now, stories differ on what actually started this fight. according to rainwater, her coat was missing from the seat of the
9:04 am
bus. she tirned around to the -- turned around to the 17-year-old student and said, "what did you do with my coat?" the 17-year-old student says she said some insuggest things to her, that's why you have no friends or if you were my child, i would pete your behind. of course, i'm paraphrasing here. either way, when the bus driver stood up, the 17-year-old did physically attack the bus driver. rainwater did appeal her termination to the school district and they have said the termination will stand because rainwater's story and some of the evidence don't match up. however, the 17-year-old was taken into custody and she could face simple assault charges. >> it should never even come close to this, though. if you are having that much beef as a bus driver, you have to keep your mouth shut, document it, turn it in. >> we spoke to the bus driver, this is what she said. >> i lay in my bed for two hours

9:06 am
instruction at all, you run the very serious risk of falling into the ocean or getting carried away by the lava. >> in order to get some of these shots, have you get uper early in the morning and hike for two hours to get from. >> we get into the lava flow until 4:00 a.m. we would shoot very hard. >> you see his shirt, he's at the edge. >> the wave was coming up to about waist height. i didn't think anything about it. the burns was scalding hot. >> it's the risk you take. the picks he is getting -- >> there spectacular. >> this is my favorite one i t dar ou explosion of lava as the water is hitting the lava when it comes out. >> there aren't too many better views on the planet. >> what do you call when you have a cat in the tree? you call the doomsville fire department and this specific
9:07 am
example. you can see them there with the ladder truck. there is a cat stuck in the tree 30-feet up. apparently, this american tab b w -- tabby, was rescued. who rescued the cat? >> a nocturnal beast? >> the fire fighter rescued him. >> the cat rescued itself. >> you can see a cat fight, i'm out of here. and then listen...he runs across the street, scampers away, looks like she climbs into another tree and runs off into bush zbs maybe the cat wants to be up there. how do we know what it wastying. maybe it wanted to see what it wanted to see up there. >> these new jersey cats are tough, maybe, wait, let me get the heck out of here.
