well, good morning. welcome to "mornings on 2." i'm dave clark. >> i'm tori campbell. tuesday april 30th. this morning a san jose starbucks is doing business a differently after a poisoning attempt. ktvu's janine de la vega just talked with starbucks' management and has their reaction to a frightening incident. >> reporter: good morning, tori. starbucks tell me, the number one priority is the safety of its customers and its employees. they've removed all of the bottled orange juices from the shelves until further notice. they've also advised other stores to check to make through bottles have not been tampered with. police say the manager of this starbucks on fellville called 911 after a woman acting suspicious. she took two bottles of

evolution fresh orange juice from the shelf and swapped them out with the same bottles of orange juice and put them on the sheff. she left the store. the employees smelled the orange juices that she put on the shelf. one had smelled like gas, the other smelled like the chemical tuesdayed in fingernail polish remove. >> i'm so glad they caught this. that's such a weird thing to do. >> reporter: an employee took down the woman's also name and police attacked her to a home four and a half miles away. police arrested the 50-year-old woman booked for tellny poisoning. we're -- felony poisoning. we're expecting to learn more

about this news because police will be holding a news conference around 10:30 and we'll have more coming up later in the newscast. janine de la vega, ktvu channel 2 news. >> thank you. oakland police are investigating a deadly shooting last night. an unidentified victim was found on parker avenue near macarthur boulevard around 10:00. stray bullets hit an ac transit bus and possibly a nearby home but police tell ktvu no one on the bus was hurt. the investigation continues. no arrests have been made. continuing coverage on the killing of 8-year-old leila fowler in calaveras county. she was stabbed to death in her home on saturday. but so far, there are no suspects. the search for her killer continues. authorities say they will not rest, though, until the person who killed the little girl is brought to justice. coming up at 7:30 alex savidge will join us live from calaveras county with details on a vigil being held tonight in leila's honor.

new information about the arrest of an oregon man accused of carjackings in marin and mona counties. police say a -- sonoma counties. police say a loaded rifle and bullets were found in a car he was driving. brian flores is live in rohnert park right now with more details of this arrest. >> reporter: good morning. rohnert park police arrested 30- year-old jeffrey bois last night he's accused of a carjacking here yesterday afternoon. when police caught up with him, he had devil bullets, six 30- round magazines, a load-bearing vest and a .22 caliber rifle in the back. the victim was just leaving a store on golf course drive around 4:30. bois ordered the man to drive him to a church. when nobody was there, he told him to drive to mountain

shadows plaza. the victim was unable to escape and he was unloading the guns and ammos he had into the victim's car. >> there was a flier put out and said his mom called and was supposed to be on the way to the russian consulate in san francisco and he had firearms on him. and she was concerned. >> reporter: and then he struck again in green bray, where police pointed an ak-47 rifle at a woman when she was from her truck. he ran away after hearing voices and getting spooked. he was possibly headed to the russian consulate in san francisco to seek ai lum. it's -- asylum. it's also reported that he was a sympathizer for the boston marathon bombing suspects. police are asking for the public's help for information on boys on-- on bois.

brian flores, ktvu channel 2 news. an israeli air strike killed a palestinian gan in the gaza strip today. the -- man in the gaza strip today. the man was a 29-year-old police officer riding a motorcycle at the time he was killed. however, israeli tv says the air strike was targeting an islamic militant involved in a recent rocket attack on southern israel. this was a deadly air strike, the first one since the november cease fire. and a powerful explosion in central damascus killed at least 13 people and injured 70. coming up at 7:30, how the obama administration is responding to calls about taking a more active role in that conflict. a record-breaking game at the oakland coliseum. it started at 7:00 last night.

sank. mexican authorities found negligence on the owners and crew and also said the passengers were not instructed about boat safety. newer beach in marin county is getting ready to close for several months starting in june. the independent journal reports the beach's parking lot and restrooms will be replaced over the summer e the work should be done. the work should be done by november. this is aimed at restoring a fresh water lagoon and also reducing flooding in that area. 7:12. new information on the boston marathon bombing case. what was found on one of the bombs that could turn the entire investigation upside down. another deadly bombing in syria. 13 people killed. the reason the capital city of damascus is becoming a bigger target. ♪ alright, let's go.

mostly sunny. a little cooler. by tonight, everything says sunshine -- well, by this evening as the wind picks up and tomorrow is sunny, warmer, windy. high fire danger. we now continue tower coverage of the boston marathon bombings. the fbi has female dna on the fragment of one of the two bombs that went off in the attack two weeks ago. investigators say the dna could have come from a marathon spectator or a clerk who sold the bomb-making materials. but they say it's also possible that dna came from a female accomplice. this news could be tied to some fbi activity in rhode island yesterday. agents left the family home of katherine russell, the widow of bombing suspect, tamerlan tsarnaev, and they were carrying samples of her dna. russell's attorney insists she knew nothing of the boston bombings and is doing

everything possible to help in the investigation. the lawyers representing the boston bombing suspect are getting help from san francisco attorney, judy clark. she's toning the defense team. she's gotten life sentences for several high-profile clients facing death sentences. those clients include the shooter in arizona and the unibomber. we're getting more information about the crisis in syria. some members of congress want thing about to get more involved. here's more. >> reporter: some lawmakers are pressing alabama to take action against syrian president's regime for the suspected use of chemical weapons. we expect the president to talk with syria in about 15 minutes with reporters. today, an explosion in damascus killed at least 13 people and

injured 70 more according to state-run television there. new video shows some of the chaos shortly after the blast. this was the second pomming to hit damascus. as the violence rises, defense secretary chuck hagel confirmed there's evidence that chemical agent seran was used. it's unclear who used it and under what circumstances. >> there's much more to be done to verify conclusively that the redline that the resident has talked about has been -- president has talked about has been crossed. >> reporter: the president says that's a redline for intervention. president assad's regime denies it uses or possesses chemical weapons. back to you. 7:17. we're following developing news from afghanistan this morning. u.s.-led coalition says a roadside bomb was just killed

federal investigators are looking into why two private planes collided over northern los angeles county yesterday afternoon. the pilot was killed and it started a small fire. the other plane made an emergency landing on a nearby golf course. all of those people survived, three of them, survived with minor injuries. no one on the ground was injured. a teenager who fell count into a ventilation shaft and broke his arm may be facing charges. it's reported that the 16-year- old fell 35 feet down into an old military bunker yesterday. firefighters rescued him by cutting through a steel

barricade. well, investigators now say the teenager was trying to break into that bunker. he may now face charges of disorderly conduct, destruction of government property and trespassing. it's 7:26. i want to check in with sal and seep what's happening on 280. northbound 280 set go -- is getting more crowded. the south bay commute has woken up. some people may avoid 101. we had a couple of earlier problems there. i want to show you the santa cruz mountains, northbound 17. we had earlier problems in the mountains if you are coming in over the hill, you will see longer delay times getting down to los gatos. and our highway 24 camera now, westbound on 24, right through la fayette here. it doesn't look bad. you can see driving along here, the traffic is getting a little bit slower. but it's not bad for the morning commute as you head to the caldecott tunnel.

it looks like now -- he started slowing down a little bit, didn't he? changing lanes. but traffic is crowded on la fayette on highway 24. 7:25. let's go back to steve. well, mostly sunny here this morning. weak little front going by. slight component of coastal fog but there it is. you can see those high clouds, not a big dealen to the front. that's for sure. but coming in behind that. high pressure will be really showing itself. the system is splitting. it will give us a slightly cooler pattern today. but the warnings and advisories start tonight 6:00 p.m. wind advisory. 50s on the temperatures slightly cooler than yesterday. you can see the ridge of high pressure. it's really building into the north. it will kick in tonight, tomorrow and probably thursday. mostly sunny, patchy coast fog. not a lot. turning very windy tonight. 60s, 70s, 80s. but then we that doesn't last very long.

we turn it around. possible record highs. will be cooler on saturday. it looks much cooler sunday/monday. a fire in the east bay trapped a woman right in her home. what her husband and her neighbor did when they saw those flames. >> reporter: it will be another sad day here as this -- at this calaveras county school as students count to mourn the loss of a classmate. what investigators are saying for the search for the man who killed 8-year-old leila fowler.

we continue our coverage on the killing of an 8-year-old girl in calaveras county. she was stabbed to death in her own home over the weekend. and her killer has still not been found. ktvu's alex sz sz is live in calaveras county where a -- ail -- ktvu's alex savidge is live in calaveras county where a vigil is planned. >> reporter: authorities in this area are not taking any chances whatsoever, with a vigil being planned tonight. students are arriving here for class. sheriff's deputies are patrolling just like they were yesterday as the search continues for leila fowler, a popular third grader here at jenny lin elementary school.

there will be grief counselors and they will stay here as long as needed according to the superintendent. the 8-year-old was stabbed to death over the weekend by an unknown commuter. tonight at 7:00, people will come together for a vigil in leila's honor here in her on thisser and the district superintendent told me losing a student in this way makes -- makes it much more difficult. >> this is acceptsless and tragic. i think -- senseless and tragic. i think what adds to all of this is the assailant is still at large. so that brings more anxiety. >> reporter: sheriff's investigators held a news conference and updated a search for the killer. the 8-year-old's parents were there but they decided to was too difficult to speak out. she was attacked on saturday afternoon, stabbed inside her family's home here in valley

springs. her 12-year-old brother was home at the time, he reported seeing a man with long, gray hair running from the house. investigators are checking in with all registered sex offenders and parolees in this area. as we come back out here live. classes are about to get started here at jenny lind elementary school. at 7:00 this will be -- this will be the spot where the vigil will take place. the superintendent told me a short time ago, he believes that leila's importants will be here for that vigil as -- parents will be here for that vigil as well. alex savidge, ktvu channel 2 news. you can get the latest information on that story. you will find details on the memorial fund for leila under web links. 7:32. in hayward, the investigation goes on into a fire that killed a 76-year-old woman last night. the fire started about 7:30 at an apartment on cypress avenue.

firefighters say the woman was trapped in a bedroom. her husband and a neighbor tried to rescue her. but they could not. both of them were treated for smoke inhalation. later today, san jose city leaders will be presented with an annual report. it tracks complaints against police officers. the independent police auditor released a 2012 year-end report online. according to that report, complaints against police officers fell by 7% last year. the report made several recommendations including reinstating a policy of documenting the race and ethnicity of everyone who is detained and searched. game 5 is tonight and warrior fans are counting down the hours this evening's big game in denver. the warriors could advance to the next round of the playoffs with a victory against the nuggets tonight. fred ingles joins us by phone with the pepsi center in

fire danger means no fog, temperatures going up. could see record highs going up. that wind advisory or red flag warning for almost everyone here. 50s on the temperatures. lows are running cooler this morning. that's the system that's all that's left of it. as it moves into the rockies. high pressure builds in. a little cooler today under mostly sunny skies and then tonight that wind machine turns on and the wind cranks up and that's when the wind kicks in. some patchy coastal fog. but again, tonight, that looks like a wind event kicking up. 60s, 70s and low to mid-80s for most. some locations will be a little warmer when we were in the 90s for many or upper 80s. the wind and the record high temperatures. the wind will decrease but not until friday. things back off. the west wind kicks in. it will be a cooler weekend.

as steve just mentioned, hot temperatures, low humidity, high winds may cause the bay area to get a red flag warning. the fire officials say the fire season is approaching. after four months of little lane -- of little rain, it's very dry. yesterday views in vacaville spent three hours trying to -- crews in vacaville spent three hours trying to control this fire. >> there was a small control burn a resident was doing. amber got away from him and -- emmer got away from him and -- ember got away from him and burned up the hill. >> chief rogers says people should clear the debris around their home. the only red flag warning is for the north and east bay hills above 1,000 feet. and that lasts through tomorrow night. in other parts of the country, april has been unusually cold. for several cities, this month has been the snowiest.

costumes. happening right now, president obama is speaking at a news conference at the white house. let's listen in. >> a couple of questionsen national security. on syria, you said that the redline was not just about chemical weapons being used or spread and it was a game changer. it seemed cut and dry. and now your administration seems to be indicating that line is not clear. do you risk u.s. credibility if you do not take military action? and then on benghazi, there are some survivors who want to come forward and testify, some in your state statement who said they've been blocked. will you allow them to testify? >> first of all, on syria, i think it's important to understand that for several years now what we've been seeing a slowly unfolding disaster for the syrian people.

and this is not a situation in which we've been simply bystanders to what's been happening. by policy -- by policy from the beginning has been -- my policy from the beginning has been that president assad lost credibility, that he attacked his own people, has killed his own people, unleashed a military against innocent civilians and that the only way to bring stability and peace to syria will be for assad to step down and to move forward on a political transition. in pursuit of that tragedy, we've organized the international community. we are the largest humanitarian donor. we've worked to strengthen the on possession. we've -- opposition. we've applied sanctions on syria. so there are a whole host of steps we've been taking precisely because even separate from the chemical weapons

issue, what's happening in syria is a blemish on the international community generally and we've gotta make sure we're doing everything we can to protect the vir reian people -- syrian people. in that context what i've also said is the u.s. of chemical weapons would be a game changer. not only for the united states but for the international community. the reason for that, we've established international law that says when you use these types of weapons you have the potential of killing mass numbers of people in the most inhumane way hospital and the proliferationics are so significant, we don't want that jeanne out of the bottle. so that was not a position unique to the united states and it shouldn't have been a surprise, when i said that. what we now have is evidence

that chemical weapons have been used inside of syria but we don't know how they were used, when they were used, who used them. we don't have a chain of custody that establishes what exactly happened and when i am making decisions about america's national security and the potential for taking additional action in response to chemical weapon use, i've gotta make sure i got the facts. that's what the american people would expect. and if we end up rushing to judgment without hard, perspective evidence, then we can find ourselves in the position where we can't mobilize the international community to support what we do. there may be objections even among some in the region who are sympathetic to the opposition if we take action.

so it's important for us to do this in a prudent way. what i've said to my team is we've gotta do everything we can to investigate and establish with some certainty what exactly has happened in syria, what is happening in syria, we will use all of the assets and resources we use at our disposal. we'll work with the neighboring countries to see whether we can establish a clear base line of facts and we've also called on the united nations to investigate. the important point i want to make here is we already are deeply engaged to bring about a solution in syria. it's a difficult problem but even if chemical weapons were not being used in syria, we still be thinking about tens of thousands of people, innocent civil ups, women, children, killed by a regime more concerned about staying in

power than it is about the well being of its people. so we are already deeply invested in trying to find a solution here. what's true, though, is that if i can establish in a way that not only the united states but also the international community feel confident is the use of chemical weapons by the assad regime, then that's a game changer because what that portends is potentially even more devastating attacks on civilians and it raises the strong possibility that those chemical weapons can fall in the wrong hands and get disseminated in ways that would threat the u.s. security. >> by game changer you mean the u.s. allies? >> i mean we could have to rethink the range of options that are available to us.

we're already -- as i said we're already invested in trying to bring back a -- a solution inside of syria. obviously, there are options that are available to me that are on the self-right now that we've not -- shelf right now that we've not deployed. that's a spectrum of options as early as last year, i asked the pentagon, our military, our intelligence officials to prepare for me what options might be available. and i won't go into the details of what the options might be but, you know, clearly that would be an escalation in our view of the threat to if the security of the international community, our allies, and the united states and that means that there's omoptions that we might -- options that we might not otherwise exercise that we would strongly consider.

and on the benghazi story, there are people in your state department who are saying they've been blocked from coming forward. they survived the attack and want to come forward. >> i'm not aware of anyone being blocked. so i will find out what it is that you are efreferring to. what -- referring to. what i've been very clear about from the start is our job with respect to benghazi is to find out exactly what happened, to make sure that u.s. embassies not just in the middle east but around the world are secure. but i will find out what you are referring to. >> they have hired an attorney because they said they are being blocked -- >> i'm not farm with that. jessica -- familiar with that.

>> jessica? >> that's's reports that you've ordered a broad review of all of the jens gathering prior to the attack -- intelligence gathering prior to the attack. there's senators that say there's still not enough intelligence shared prior to the attack and now lindsey graham has said that benghazi and boston are both examples of the u.s. going back. is he right or did our intelligence miss something? >> no, mr. graham is not right on this issue. i'm sure it generated some headlines. i think that what we saw in boston was -- was state, local, federal officials, every agency rallying around a city that had been attacked. identifying the perpetrators

just hours after the scene had been examined. we now have one individual deceased, one in custody. charges have been brought. i think that all of our law enforcement officials performed in an exemplary fashion after the bombing had taken place and we should be very proud of their work as we're proud of the people in boston, the first responders and the mel personnel that helped save lives. what we also know that is -- is that the russian intelligence services had alerted u.s. intelligence about the older brother as well as the mother indicating that they might be sympathizers to extremists. the fbi investigated that older brother. it's not as if the fbi did

nothing. they not only investigated the older brother, they interviewed the older brother. they concluded that there were no signs when he was engaging in extremist activity. that much we know. and the question, then, is was there something that happened that triggered radicalization and actual -- and an actual decision bike the brother to engage in the -- by the brother to engage in the attack in boston. and are there additional things that could have been done in the interim that might have prevented them. now what director clamper is doing this standard procedure around here, which is when an event like this happens we want to go back and review every step taken, we want to lead no stone unturned. we want to see if, is there, in fact, additional protocols and procedures that could be put in place that would further

improve and enhance our ability to protect a potential attack. we don't know that until that review is completed. we won't know that until the actual crime is fully completed. that's still ongoing. but what i can say is that based on what i've seen so far, the fbi performed its duties, the department of homeland security did what it was supposed to be doing. but this is hard stuff. and i've said from -- for quite some time that because of the pressure that we've put on al qaeda, because of the pressure that we've put on these networks that are well-financed and more sophisticated and -- and can engage in and project

threats against the united states, one of the dangers that we now face are self- radicalized individuals who are already here in the united states, in some cases may not be part of any kind of network. but because of whatever warped, twisted, ideas they may have may decide to carry out an attack. and those are in some ways more difficult to prevent and so what i've done for months now is to indicate to our entire counterterrorism team. what more can we do on that threat that is looming on the horizon. are there more things that we can do whether it's engaging in -- engaging with communities where there is a potential for self-radicalization of this sort is there work that can be done in terms of detection?

but all of this has to be done in the context of our laws, due process and so part of what director clamper is doing is gonna be to see if we can determine any lessons learned from what happened. >> are -- >> you've been listening live to president obama live in washington, d.c. in the white house. this was a press conference announced this morning. he's been discussing syria, talking about the -- slowly unfolding disaster. he was specifically about whether the use of chemical weapons is a game changer. he said, yes. we do know we have evidence that chemical weapons have been used but we don't know who used them and then talk about the -- talking about the investigation into the bombings. he praised the investigation as swift and said the fbi looks like it's been doing a good job but they are still gonna be taking steps to make sure everything is done to improve

welcome back. a san jose woman is facing charges she allegedly left tainted juice at a starbucks store. janine de la vega is joining us liveout side -- outside of the store that was targeted. just got a mugshot. >> reporter: yeah, that's right. customers are reacting in

shock. we've been getting a lot of comments on twitter. it was not coffee. it was juice which is gone from the shelves today. i want to show you that mugshot that we just received. this is a 50-year-old ramaneh behpmaun. she was arrested. police say she walked in yesterday at 3:45 in the afternoon. she took two bottles of evolution fresh orange juice from the shelf and swapped it from the same bottles that she brought. a customer thought that was add and told employees who noticed the bottles had a toxic smell. police and the fire department responded and discovered that one contained rubbing alcohol and juice and the other had acetone in it. that's commonly used in fingernail polish. this is concerning since this is near a school.

>> a lot of the kids will come and they buy their drinks and stuff like that. suppose somebody's kid had ingested that. that's not good. >> reporter: here's another look at that suspect. an employee actually took down her license plate number and that's how police tracked her down to a home that was four and a half miles away from the starbucks here on snell avenue. police believe she acted alone. in the meantime, starbucks has removed all of its bottled juices from the shelves here at the starbucks on snell avenue. they've also advised they should check for tampering, just as a safety precaution. the police conference is holding a news conference. they moved it up to 9:00. we're about to head that way to get some more information on this case. reporting live from san jose, janine de la vega, ktvu channel 2 news. >> thank you.

8:05. the oregon man cused of carjacks in marin and sonoma counties has been arrested. police say they found a loaded rifle and several hundred bullets in the truck the suspect was driving. ktvu channel 2 reporter brian flores is live in rohnert park now and just spoke with one of the victims. good morning, brian. >> reporter: good morning, tori. well, police arrested 30-year- old jeffrey boise last night. he's accused of attempting kidnapping of a woman in greenbrae as well as a carjacking here in rohnert park. when police caught up with him, he had several bullets, six 30- round magazine, a load-bearing vest and a .22 caliber in the back. police say he carjacked a man at gunpoint yesterday in rohnert park around 4:30. he was juvenile leaving a store on golf course. boise ordered him to drive him to a nearby church. when nobody was there, boise

told him to drive to mountain shadows. hours later, close to 7:00 at night, boise struck again, this time in greenbrae where police say he pointed a rifle at a woman. we spoke to her. her name is tina humphrey. she just moved here a year ago. she's the mother of three. she remained calm and said she was actually cable to calm down boise. >> he looked at me, and said you shouldn't have done that. i shade what would you want to do -- i said why would you want to do that? what is that gonna accomplish? >> it kind of shocks a community. we want our residents to feel safe in rohnert park and any time that something of this magnitude happens, people start to get worried. however, i think we responded

quickly. >> reporter: rohnert park police say they responded within a minute to the first calls. she says she was able to frag down another man and she was able to call police. she also says bpise got spooked. he was caught a short time later. it's also being reporteddic maaing his way down the coast. we just spoke with rohnert park police and they just told us that he was found with a loaded .45 pistol on his side when he was arrested. they are also investigating other crimes that he may be involved in this or rip again. brian flores, ktvu channel 2 news. >> thank you. a new study says bay area drivers involved in fatal pedestrian crashes rarely face serious consequences. the center for investigative

reporting looked at court records and found the majority of drivers were not charged even if a pedestrian was hit in a crosswalk. when the drivers were charged, punishment was often light and many of them kept their driver's licenses. the report also says many district attorneys don't bother to file charges because jurors often sympathize with the drivers. 8:09. let's check in with sal. that leads us right to you. how's highway 24 doing. >> it looks pretty good. we've been looking at it between walnut creek and oakland. again between the walnut creek and oakland area, it's a little bit slow in la fayette and or rib da. we checked ons caldecott. the completion date is 20 about tu -- but it says -- 2014 but caltrans is set to let traffic through in late 2013. i assume they mean that it will be good enough for traffic 2013 but then they still have

what happened. the child's mother says she ran after the suspect before he dropped the child and ran away. now, police released a sketch of the possible suspect. take a look at this. he's described as being in his 30s with blond hair, last seen wearing a green shirt and blue jeans. 8:15. new this morning, an israeli air strike killed a palestinian man in the gaza strip today. this is video of the after math of the air strike. hamas militants say the man was a 29-year-old police officer who was killed while riding a motorcycle. but israeli tv says the air strike targeted an islamic militant who was involved in a recent rocket attack on southern israel. today's attack was the first deadly air strike carried out by israel since a november cease fire. as you just heard on ktvu, the president confirmed the u.s. has evidence that chemical weapons have been used in syria but we don't know how the chemicals were used or by whom.

tonight, leila fowler will be remembered with a candlelight vigil. alex savidge is in calaveras county this morning. he says the search goes on for leila's killer. >> reporter: good morning, dave. to give you a sense of how anxious parents here are at jenny lind elementary school, the principal told me yesterday, there were three times as many times absent compared to a normal day. parents tell me this morning that really it's nerve-racking knowing that a killer remains on the loose this morning. authorities are still trying to track down the man who stabbed leila fowler to death overert the weekend. the -- over the weekend. the 8-year-old was a third grader here. as students arrived, sheriff avenue deputies were on patrol. i'm told they will stay here as long as they were needed as lon as the -- as long ax the search continues -- as long as the

search continues. >> we're a town of 7,000. we don't even lock our doors and all of that has changed. in fact, we were out of town and our next door neighbor came and locked our house up while we were gone. >> last night sheriff avenue investigators held a news conference and talked about the ongoing search for the man who killed leila fowler. the 8-year-old's parents were there but they decided now to speak in the end. he was attacked on saturday afternoon. she was stabbed inside her family's home while her parents were away at a little league baseball game. her 12-year-old brother was home at the time. he reported seeing a man with long gray hair running from the house and investigators said last night, a second witness has come forward and said they saw a man with a similar description who was running from the scene. tonight at 7:00, people will come together for a big vigil in leila's honor. it will be here on the quad at the school.

and other companies interestinged down the markets. the markets look like they are coming back a little bit after good news of home prices on the rise. the dow is currently down 9. the nasdaq, though, is up 9 and s&p is up just slightly. apple is doing something it has not done in more than 20 years. it's selling bonds. that follows the lead of microsoft which sold nearly $2 billion in debt last week. investors are happy to get 2.5% interest. it's a way for companies to raise cash without bringing some of their overseas profits back to the u.s. and having to pay taxes on that income. let's bring you up to date on some of the other top stories we're following for you right now. last night was the longist as game ever at the coliseum. brandon moss there hit a home run two boughts in the bottom of the 19th -- outs in

the bottom of the 19th inning. the as won 10-8. that game lasted six hours and 32 minutes. the fbi has found female dna on a pregnant of one of the two bombs that went off at the boston marathon. investigators say the dna could have come from a marathon spectator or a clerk who sold the bomb making materials but they also say it's possible the dna came from a female accomplice. in over an hour, san jose police will talk about an alleged poisoning attempt at a starbucks. they arrested a woman accused of leaving behind tainted juice. ktvu's janine de la vega joining us live from the store on how starbucks is responding to all of this. good morning, janine. >> reporter: good morning, dave. we were at the store but we just moved to the san jose police department where in the next 15 minutes they are gonna be holding a news conference to talk about this case that they are taking very seriously. it wasn't coffee tainted.

police say the woman was lacing the orange juice that starbuck t's go a picture -- a picture of the suspect, this woman, arrested for poisoning, which is a felony. starbucks says she walked into their store on snell avenue near santa teresa around 3:45 yesterday afternoon and took two bottles of revolution orange juice from the shelf and swapped it with the ones she brought. a customer thought it was strange. told employees. they noticed a toxic smell. police and the fire department caout and determined one bol contained a mix of juice and rubbing alcohol. the other contained acetone. >> i could totally see someone just being able to put it back without, you know, anyone noticing. i'm so happy they were able to see it and do something about

welcome back. police continue to investigate an oregon man accused of carjackings and marin and sonoma counties. they found a rifle and several loaded rifles in the suspect's truck. here's more. >> reporter: police arrested 30-

year-old jeffrey bose. he's accused of carjacking and kidnapping two victimses in green bea yesterday afternoon. police caught up with him and he had several bullets, six 30- round magazines and a loaded bearing vest and a .22 rifle in the back. he had a loaded pistol on his side as well. police say this started at 4:30 yesterday afternoon who bois reported as mentally ill carjacked a man. he ordered him to a church. when nobody was there, he showed him to drive to mountain shadows. he was able to escape, the man. police say that he struck again and pointed an ak-45 style weapon. we spoke to her earlier this morning. he's what she said. she remained calm throughout the entire time. humphrey says she was able to
