desk. happening now, cal fire is still busy trying to control two wildfires in sonoma counties and we were there near highway 28 and it has now burned 125 acres and it's 50% contained. claudine wong is busy and you are out there along soda canyon road and they are there to give them some more answers, claudine? >> i want to give you a look at what is still burning and embers are still burning and there is a little bit of hot spots. if you pan over, i want to show you, you see that tree, that happens a lot with eucalyptus trees and they became crashing down with very little warning and they do not want to send crews down above as well as the

danger below. they have been fighting this fire off of soda springs road and soda canyon road and this is what it looks like, firefighters came out here about 60 of them right away and they hit it from the air and from the ground and they got most of it out in a short amount of time but it did make things difficult. we showed the embers still burning and it was on the hillside along the grove where all of this started. they believe this started with power lines and that sent the power lines down and high winds fueled it on the hillside. if you come here we can show you a little more about the area we are in. this is a place which used to be a popular place for years and years he to come and left

apartment on top of the store trying to find a cause to figure out why and now from this fire early this morning, from what we understand we spoke to the owner who did not want to be on camera and he actually lives on top of the store, he tells me he was awoke ended by an alarm -- awoken by an alarm and then shortly after he saw flames and people yelled at him to get out of the apartment complex from above so he was able to do that. this is the only market from what we understand for several miles and this is a big community market and we spoke with some neighbors who say they are shocked with what happened amount i see smoke and i am thinking it is fog and everything. next thing i know, i am going

and mission at 2:00 a.m. this morning. police chased the suspect where the car crashed. two were found -- two suspects were found and taken into custody. police used a police dog to look for the third person who at last checked is still on the loose. the victim is being treated for a gunshot wound to the leg. mayday clashes with protesters... now police are using flash bang grenades to break up the crowd and some say they smashed door windows and metal pipes at the poll. those officers had cuts and bruises and still no word on whether any of the protesters were hurt. back out here, we are told about the violence from recent

airlines plane and another plane collided while taking off. the tails were damaged and both did go back to their gates and passengers were taken off and the cause of that collision is under investigation. a five-year-old boy in kentucky accidentally shot and killed his two-year-old sister. it started with a rifle he got for his 5th birthday. the boy was playing with it on tuesday when it accidentally went off. the children's mother was there at the time and just stepped outside. the shooting has been rule under an accident. a mother who was fatally shot in front of her four-year- old son will be laid to rest. she was shot in her car last week and her son was in the back seat and was not hurt. the funeral for henderson starts at 11:00 a.m.

struggling economy. we will have more on how many americans rely on mexico when i see you next in my next update. there is controversy over the morning after pill and they are looking to change the ruling as the decision was made to lower the age to having the morning after pill and lower the age to 15 years of age. the department of corrections and rehabilitation must spell out how they will comply with a court order to produce -- reduce the prison population. they have to give this information by midnight and the goal is to reduce by nearly 10,000 inmates this year. actress lindsay lohan is expected to check into a new port beach rehabilitation and as part of a court ruling she will have to spend 90 days and

. nicholas is now being charged with felony drug possession and they found methamphetamine while they were out searching the mountains for him. he and a friend got lost in the wilderness and that hike cost them $50,000. in james town virginia, some of them may have resorted to eating human flesh to stay alive. the evidence is in the remains of a 14-year-old girl who has been nicknamed jane. her bones show clear signs she has what her flesh eaten. there is a special exhibit about james town at the smith sonian in washington d.c.

the day. right now 125 acres are boring north of calistoga. claudine wong joins us from napa where you just got an update from cal fire? >> reporter: yes, we are standing here on soda springs road where the fire actually stopped and if you take a look at this roadway, you can see it burned across into the roadway where it used to be an afternoon -- a through the resort area. you can see -- a flew want resort area. it started in a grove of eucalyptus trees and wind blew down what they think was some power lines and the wind swept up the hill and got to where we are now. this is only one area and it also stretches 800 feet in the

other direction and it was a decent fire head to deal with and there are 150 firefighters here and they did not do a lot at night because of the dangers posed by the fire and they just spoke about the dangers they were dealing with. >> we will hire the professionals to come in and cut the trees down to make them safe to reopen to the public. >> reporter: is there any reason to believe they will flair back up? >> there is always a potential to flair back up and we will do our best to keep it under control. >> reporter: you are looking at video from last night after the fire was called in and it was 6:30 when the fire was spotted and they got it under control 90 minutes or so later and they had to make sure it didn't spread. back out here live he was talking about getting these

trees knocked down, this tree fell into the wind and knocked into the rest of the trees. the danger was on the ground and the danger that eucalyptus -- eucalyptus trees could fall from above and they don't want to put their crew in danger to put out the hot spots. most of it will burn itself out and they will keep an eye on it and we will kind you updated coming up on mornings on 2. claudine wong ktvu channel 2 morning news. right now a huge wildfire is burning outside of los angeles and it's moving closer to somehowing developments at this point. this is video from overnight and winds reaching 29 miles per hour have been fueling flames and more than 400 firefighters have been called in to fight the fire and so far it is only 3 5% contained. stay with us as we monitor

these wildfires throughout california and we are keeping an eye on these fires and you can get information any time of day on www.ktvu.com and mobile ktvu. backyard fire in san jose almost burned down a house. it happened on willow street. firefighters were worried about smoke containing sulphuric add sid. the homeowner was charging a battery when it exploded. the garage and two rvs were affected but luckily nobody was hurt. a man is wanted and considered armed and dangerous. janine de la vega has the details on this hunt for didn't mitt tristorm -- dimitri storm.

>> reporter: they say he is considered armed and dangerous and has allude add authorities for the past month -- alluded authorities and tell us what they can do to catch him. they have the changing looks of 40-year-old dimitri storm. they are calling him a violent serial thief. law enforcement said he has been on a crime rampage stealing numerous vehicles and breaking into homes. there is even surveillance video showing him on the prowl. he is also wanted for assaulting a police officer and he has pulled weapons on some of his victims. he is committing crimes all the way to san mateo and has other crimes in marin and caramel island, santa cruz and ben loehmann's.

. time now 6:46, news chopper 2 is chasing a pursuit on southbound 101, the pursuit got off at mckey and they are chasing people on the streets and we will bring you details later on. earlier san francisco police chased three suspects to the candle stick park off ramp and they are searching now for a third suspect, the victim by the i was shot in the leg and was taken to the hospital for treatment. the latest fire started near soda canyon road and the yellow fire is still burning near calistoga.

which is good news and they have been out for at least a couple of hours and they are trying to quell a little bit of the smoke and trying to reduce that. this was shot shortly after this morning and you can see the heavy thick smoke and according to the fire department they got their first call at the market which is a small community market here in the city. there are two apartments above the store and the store has been here for eight years and we understand the owner is here in one of his apartments. he was awoke end throughout by another neighbor who knocked on his door and both were able to escape and we understand the family was out of town. whether the store is a complete loss, hear what firefighters say is the next process. >> the next process, we will

police just captured the suspects in that pursuit which took place on southbound 101 and the people they were chasing got off at mckees and then went on to service streets. just a few moments ago they captured the suspects and two are in custody and we are not sure why but again two suspects have just been captured san jose -- captured in san jose after a wild pursuit and we will bring you updates as soon as the information becomes available. 27-year-old christopher yang was a water polo coach for the girl's polo team. sheriff's deputies arrested him last week and he is facing 9 felony counts for having sexual relations with a minor.
