scene this is east 18th street. >> we pulled up about 15th after the 911 call and heavy smoke was blowing into the parking lot making it very difficult to breathe. fire crews are on the scene. behind me you can see the bakery sign. it's been whipping up wedding cakes and pies for more than 50 years. now it looks like it will be closed for awhile. we have exclusive video we want to show you. the biggest flames were shooting out of the back of the building. the 911 call came in around 2:45 this morning and they were able to knock it out within 45 minutes. 32 firefighters tackled the flames that enveloped two floors. crews were putting on their oxygen tanks because of the toxic smoke. >> we had fire coming from the far side of the building and as well as the first floor.

>> reporter: i could see the smoke billowing and it was hard to breathe. >> yeah. that usually indicates some type of plastics. some type of ventilation. most of that was coming from the second floor. >> reporter: now a couple people called 911 we talked to one of them. the fire investigator is now on scene trying to figure out how this fire started. five years ago there was another we'll tell you about that coming up. i'm tara moriarty county ktvu ktvu channel 2 news. just before 9:00 last night, someone opened fire at mel rose and 50th avenue. investigators say the gunmen fired several dozen rounds. friends drove the victim to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. the bullet went through the

floss on the back door. none of the stations eight firefighters were hurt. they just returned from an unrelated call. just hours ago a berkeley intersection reopened but that is following a crash that seriously injured a pedestrian. it happened at 8:20 last night. at tenth and university. a driver in a small sedan struck a man at the intersection at this point investigators say it's unclear whether or not the victim was in a crosswalk. >> the pedestrian was transported by the fire department to a local hospital. he is in critical condition. >> police say the driver stopped and is cooperating with investigators. they say they are looking into whether drugs or alcohol played a factor. today the brothers arrested at a house where three missing women were found are expected

to be interviewed by investigators. they were found alive monday after berry escaped from the cleveland home. the three women were just teens when they were kidnapped between the years of 2002 and 2004. since then investigators have been combing through the house. >> there is two ways to this story. i'm happy because the girls were found. and i'm sorry the damage was done by a member of our family. >> cleveland police are also facing questions about how it handled the case. neighbors report seeing strange things at the house but police never entered the home to investigate. jc dugard is talking about the discovery of the three women in cleveland. >> i want to say what man amazing time to be talking -- what an amazing time to be talking about hope with everything that has happened. >> dugard and her mother were in washington, d.c. last night

where she was honored with her work supporting kidnapped victims. she wants the three women to know that the the kidnapping abuse is. several survivors and relatives of those who died told the san francisco chronicle that orval ricky brown was slow to react and he did little to help the women as they tried to escape the flames. brown says he did everything possible to help. and he feels terrible about the fire. the coroners office has released the names of all five women who died in that fire. 31-year-old naris is a fojas was the newlywed. michelle was a coworker and friend. jenny lived in dublin and had

we are hearing the radio communications between the first responders to the fire. the tapes made it clear they were dealing with a very serious situation. >> a vehicle fire westbound 92. report of a vehicle fire limo was possible entrapment. >> both locations people trapped. one limo heavily involved. limo on the west side of that high-rise. we've got report of people trapped. >> the limo caught fire on the far western end of the bridge which made it difficult for first responders to get there. the limo driver says he does not think there is a current fear extinguisher inside the limo and current law does not

traffic looks good on the east shore freeway getting out to the toll plaza with no major delays. also the morning commute looks good at the toll plaza and until problems getting into san francisco. i want to mention the traffic in san jose also looks good on 280 and 101. this is a good time to take advantage of these light commutes. now let's go to steve. our little low is on the way out of the picture. still you can see in the four corners the wrap around giving rain up in the sierra nevada. we are done with any rain. the low clouds and high clouds continue to spill off. kind of bleed off to the west. morning, fog, clouds. 60s and 70s to mid 70s. high pressure is on its way. it took a little break when that low came in. it will be warmer on the

weekend but really a little bit above average. 50s on the temps there. much cooler for most. it's a little cooler pattern. some of that rain looks like it's a little bit done. it looks like everything is about done. last check i saw observations. and also fog at blue canyon. this will spin out of the area. now it's kind of almost out of the picture. morning fog. 41 up in tahoe. 50 in ukiah. raining in fresno by the way as that system rotates in. that's about done. it will move into southern california. a little warmer today after some of that fog. thicker morning fog so be careful. 60s and 70s on the temps. few upper 70s and near 80 degrees. it looks like by tomorrow we will get a few more.

brand name guns in its first person shooter game. the move is seen as retaliation for the national rifle association. the golden gate bridge toll could be going up. the bridge authority faces a $29 million short fall. they will discuss the budget and the possible toll hike at its finance committee. the last toll increase was nearly five years ago. time now 4:55. sal, how sit looking? >> i think it looks okay. right now we're looking at the commute and right now traffic is moving along pretty well if you are driving in the south bay, for example. this is a look at 237 and that traffic is moving along very nicely. no major problems driving through. the traffic continues to look good. if you are driving to the bay bridge toll plaza, it has been nice as well.

the morning commute continues to look good on the dumbarton bridge. it's 4:55 let's go to steve. thank you. a lot of low clouds in place. fog. high pressure is starting to nose in. yesterday the fog was way up here. pockets of it. mainly in the hills. still rain in california. thousand it's rotating east of us going through the sierra. central sierra. 50s to near 60. that is actually 53 in livermore. i don't know where that 60 came from. there goes that low. 60s and 70s to mid 70s or upper 70s today. by the weekend we will see a little bit warmer temps. a lot of 70s by the bay. as this system rotates out. morning, fog, sunny. just a little warm. thicker fog though. temperatures 60s to 70s. upper 70s and it looks like a pattern where each day will come up a little bit on these temps. not a huge jump.
