the catamaran is damaged and the team's future now uncertain. police will use the same team that investigated last year's fatal yacht crash. after that the coast guard tightened its regulations on racing. health and science editor john fowler ktvu channel 2 news. >> the america's cup teams had a hard time sailing in san francisco bay. oracle capsized in june 2011 on a windy day on the bay. the catamaran flipped over but the crew righted the vessel. >> last october a catamaran flipped again. the boat drifted to the bay. crews tried to tow it back to san francisco but a strong current pushed it under the golden gate bridge. 11 crew members were on board.

you see team members gathering here. this is a work shop area close to the water where they put the boats into the water. we seen several members here and each one of them looked stricken. all in shock over the death of their teammate andrew simpson. the artemis racing team identified british double gold medalist andrew simpson who was trapped under the boat this afternoon. the team ceo spoke briefly saying today was a tragic day for the whole team. >> our shots and prayers are with bart simpson, andrew simpson's family, wife and kids. and also with the teammates. >> he said for now the team is recovering from the shock of the development and for now the question as to how they will proceed is one of many concerns. >> the boat is under control. but it is not the first of our

word of another arrest in the case. robert? >> reporter: the scope of the investigation keeps getting wider with more suspects and victims. we were here as police arrested another suspect on a long list of charges. >> reporter: today police arrested another member of an identity theft ring. police consider one of the biggest ever in san jose. he was interviewed before being taken to jail, booked on 45 felony cowpats. >> grant theft -- felony counts. grand theft, possession of equipment to make frogulent i.d. cards. -- fraudulent i.d. cards. >> reporter: they appeared in court today and were given a date of june 5 for allegations including identity theft and counterfeit fitting. police say they burglarized
