tomorrow. live in the area, back to you. a search for a missing patient. delta called 911 and they say the patient ran out of the hospital and jumped into the contra costa canal. some ran into after him trying to rescue him but they could not. firefighters searched downstream with a helicopter and they could not find him but it is presumed he is dead. a crime order takes affect in response to the reason gun violence. he was shot and killed sunday night while sitting in a car. two other teens, ages 15 and 16 were hurt and since january there have been firearms. much of the violence is ranked

. all right, we want to continue our coverage for what is going on in oklahoma this morning and the search continues, time now 6:15 and also this is not the first tornado of moore oklahoma and it was devastated by a powerful tornado before. it killed more than 40 people and caused more than 40 billion in damage. it had winds up to 40 miles per hour. and they covered that storm 14 years ago and here is what he found >> reporter: people on this house say they own this truck but they say they have no idea who owns this truck but they are sure it came from the sky. >> it is unusual for a tornado

to track the same path but look at the five deadliest tornadoes in u.s. history and the most destructive happened on 1925 stretched into illinois and missouri and new york and that killed 695 people. and then 317 people died in mississippi and in may of 1896, 255 people were killed. now the 4th and 5th deadliest tornado happened one day apart in april in 1956 and in tupelo, the next one in gainesville georgia and the 6th deadliest happened in oklahoma back in 1947. happening right now, we want to take you live this is a

about the tucson shooting from two years ago. they are expected to release more than 300 photos taken after the shooting. 13 people were wounded including congresswoman gabrielle giffords. -- former congresswoman gabrielle giffords. jared loughner was sentenced to consecutive life sentences after being convicted in the case. they are loud performances being considered and several hotels and stores in the area have complained about street performers and if approved they would still get a permit and it will respect how long they can -- it will restrict how long they can perform in addition to the noise level.

and it is a much cooler windy pattern and sonoma county airports are already 46 degrees and winds are out of the west, fso west at 26 and up know there are some gusts stronger and severe weather is just blowing up. the line is keeping an eye on us and this is painted and watch for the next fume and this low is really pumping in some snow and rain and we get the partly cooler temperatures and we get 60s and 70s and no 80s for about five to seven days and temperatures stay very cool all the way to the upcoming weekend.

it is tuesday, may 21st, i am dave clark. thank you for joining us, it is now 6:30, we just got out of a major development involving tornadoes and the medical examiner has brought the death toll down and at least 40 people are known to be dead. earlier this morning there was at least 50 people an elementary school was right in the path of that tornado and a lot of the dead are children. one man talked about what he saw as a tornado hit his house. >> i could hear the roof going and others were talking about installation falling on me and i could see the swirl of the tornado as it goes by. >> they declared a major disaster and right now the

destruction. a massive tornado at times raised oklahoma and the storm raised two schools were in the twister's path including towers in the city of moore. resident crew crews worked to pull survivors from the debris. one seven-year-old describe is the moment the storm hit. >> i was hanging on to one of the desks, and i fell back and all of the dirt was getting in my eyes on my close. >> he is accepting that to rescue. >> search and rescue efforts went throughout the night to find if anybody was buried

underneath the debris by the school. at least 21 children have died. >> they were supposed to be there during the tornado drill and the roofed collapsed on top of them and they suspect water lines went out and they suspect they drowned because they could not get out from underneath the debris. >> you probably saw ariels and a two story hospital with that second story and everybody out of that hospital was able to make it out alive. let me show you this tent. basically people lost everything and he put out attend outside what is left of his house because at this point he doesn't know what to do, he is waiting on insurance adjustors, everything is up in the air not knowing what the

looks like the clear front- runner. happening right now, hospital workers are on strike at five uc medical center. tara moriarty joins us from outside ucf and they are looking into the affects of the strikes on patients. >> reporter: ucf officials say children are not able to get their heart surgery for today and tomorrow because of this strike and speaking about union executives says a judge ordered enough staffing so medical procedures could go on as planned. you can see many are striking there and they are going strong and police are standing by right here in front of ucf. they are expecting to walk off the job and the judge did issue an injunction and are declaring
