fire to an acre and a half and crews were also tend to a mobile home park as a precaution but no structures are threatened and at this point no word on what caused the fire. there are new details about the final moments before two police officers were shot and killed in february. ktvu's jade hernandez is in santa cruz and takes us through what happened. jade? >> reporter: the families of the two officers that were killed left notes open to the community. they are filled with words of sadness but today here at the police department the details about the day the officers died gives us insight to the sacrifices made on february 26. >> reporter: butch baker and elizabeth butler showed up to this home looking for jeremy goulet regarding a sex crime. after speaking with them, jeremy goulet met the officers

at his backdoor and then opened it. >> within three seconds jeremy goulet fired five rounds at the two officers. >> the shots came from his own gun. going butch baker and elizabeth butler lay wounded. >> at that point the suspect, jeremy goulet, walked over to the wounded sergeant butch baker fired two more rounds into him and took his weapon from him. >> jeremy goulet fired 9 rounds at the two police officers. some at point blank range. officers discovered jeremy goulet armed with his gun and body armor. >> jeremy goulet was found in the alley. started running with guns ablaze. shooting four witnesses, shoot

leader. he serves as the executive director of the port of long beach. the previous director resigned, as a result of a ktvu investigation into questionable expenses at a strip club in 2008. he is expected to start in july. police are looking for a man who exposed himself to two girls. the girls said they were walking behind a business when the driver blocked their path with his suv and exposed himself through the window. the girls say he was white, late 40ys. wearing an american flag baseball hat and a black sweat shirt and driving a yukon. bart's board of directors is set to make a decision on a policy for bicycle riders to get around easier on bart.

right now certain morning and afternoon trains don't allow bikes. bart ran week long tests in august and march and received positive feed back from riders. officials learned a lot from the trial periods and now making more room for bikes that will make it easier for all riders. >> the big issue is getting in and out of the cars cars and we don't want bicycles blocking the doors. it benefits everyone. >> no matter what they decide, bicycles will not be allowed on the first three cars. a bicyclist is dead after colliding with a garbage truck in san francisco this afternoon at 16th street. ktvu's ken pritchett is there tonight and talked to a witness about what he heard and saw.

ken? >> it was 6:45 a.m. this morning and the truck was making a right hand turn, the bicyclist was behind the truck or beside the truck. that is where the accident happened and bicyclists say if you look at the street you will see something missing a bike lane. not clear if that played a role in the crash. the police are investigating who is at fault. for the morning a mangled bicycle and its deceased rider lie in the street. an unsettling scene, even more so for him who saw the collision. >> the truck is in green light. he turned right. >> reporter: he heard a sickening rise and saw the bicyclist go down and the driver drove on. >> i don't think he feel

nothing. >> the bicyclist hit the career of the truck and the truck driver didn't realize there was a collision and continued. >> san francisco police say it driver returned when he heard people yelling. investigators reinstructed what happened. the victim was not wearing a helmet. bicyclists say this intersection is difficult. >> i feel so tension here. >> he rides here and he does so on the sidewalks. >> yeah. i think so because they don't have bike lanes. >> reporter: no bike lane and heavy traffic makes them uneasy. >> you have to be familiar with your surroundings. if there is a big truck you better just get out of the way. >> reporter: the name of the bicyclist who was killed here this morning hasn't been released. san francisco police say it is unclear when the investigation will be complete. in san francisco, ken

pritchett, ktvu channel 2 news. the driver and passengers on a bus have a frightening story to tell. the telephone line fell and hit the bus this morning. a window was shattered. people were kept in the vehicle as a precaution and were later transferred to another bus. no word on why that power line came down. now to the disaster in oklahoma. more severe weather, including thunderstorms slowed down the recovery effort in moore, oklahoma. storms brought hail, winds, rain and flash flood. the national weather service is warning of more storms tonight. also today officials increased the number of people injured to 353. 24 people were killed in the tornado. mean time more parents are giving praise to teachers there, including one who saved

friends say he was a model soldier and a drummer who served in afghanistan. he leaves behind a two-year-old son. the suspect is hospitalized and under arrest. not clear how a man and woman arrested today are connected. san francisco police are searching for a driver who crashed into a house. it happened last night about 7:30 p.m. in the mission district. you could see the damage there to the home that was caused as a result of the crash. the residents were evacuated. the driver drove away from the scene. both sides are claiming victory orpha two day -- after a two day strike at university of california medical centers. officials claimed workers crossed picket lines but the union claims they went on

to the navy till it leaves for its new home. new unemployment claims appear to show the job market is continuing to improve. they reported 340,000 new claims, that is down 23,000. four week average was 339,500. which was close to the 5 year low. on wall street today concerns over a weak manufacturing report from china sent stocks lower at the opening bell. they recovered somewhat as the day went on. the dow is down 12 to 15,294. the nasdaq is down 3 at 3,459. the s&p is down 4 to 1,650. rumors about a wearable watch like device from apple are putting the launch in 2014. an analyst claims apple may need more time to create

look at surveillance video to help them solve a bank robbery. three men stormed the credit union monday morning. you see here they were wearing black hoodies. the men ordered staff and customers to the ground and stole cash from the tellers. a $2,500 reward is offered in the case. group working on immigration reform in the house of representatives says they have overcome concerns that threaten to derail their work. republicans pressed for an agreement that undocumented immigrants would not receive healthcare paid for by the democrats, democrats said they were afraid they would include emergency case but republican said that is not the case. speaker of the house john boehner said he hopes to have an immigration reform bill by august. steering wheel problem is behind a recall by nissan.

a warning tonight that we could see more and more weather disasters like the tornado that hit oklahoma unless something is done now. ktvu's rob roth tells us why there is a sense of urgency. >> reporter: today governor jerry brown joined with scientists for a call to action on reversing climate change. >> this is not about science, this is about activism. >> he added his name to a
