moving along pretty nicely all the way up to the downtown area. we have developing news in san jose where firefighters faced a big struggle trying to reach a room stuck in her car. janine de la vega is in the year. tell us what may have played a factor in this crash. >> reporter: we're at the intersection. right here behind me you can see that black suv involved in this accident is about to be towed away. this is a bad accident. the car is completely smashed up and a woman was stuck inside. there is still remnant and broke -- remnants and broken glass on the ground. let's go to video we took earlier this morning. this accident happened at 2:00 a.m.. the blabbings was traveling southbound on ruby when it broadsided a dodge status.

the female driver was trapped inside. it took nearly 458 minute for the fire department to extra cater. he was conscious and was transported to the hospital. two passengers were in the other car. they were also taken to the hospital with minor injuries. police say at least one of the cars ran a red light. they are trying to determine which one of them did. and they also say that both drivers may have been drinking alcohol. they smelled it on one of the driver's breath. the other driver in the dodge stratus apparently did not do well when they did a field sobriety test. it looks like both of them may be getting dui's. this road was blocked the intersection of aborn and ruby was blocked for the last hour. the tow truck is hauling away this gmc yukon. the damage is really bad. you can see where they had to

extra date the door. they will have this road clear in the next half hour or so. reporting live janine de la vega ktvu channel 2 news. we have the first pictures of an earthquake. a magnitude 5.7 quake hit in the community of greenville. evergreen market in greenville posted surveillance video of its store on the facebook page. take a look. they show dozens of items falling off the shelves. the store posted a message that reads in part what a shake. lots of big aftershocks. you can still hear the rumbling. there was also damage but nothing too serious. the market will open at 7:30 this morning. the colors on this map show and describe how people feel about the shaking and how they describe it.

as you would expect people categorize the intensity as strong. however no reports of any injuries. ktvu viewers posted comments about the quake as our facebook page. some as far away as antioch and san francisco felt that. russia was also rocked by a powerful earthquake overnight. that was 8.3. it was centered off the eastern coast of russia but felt as far away as moscow. there are no reports of any deaths or serious damage. earthquakes rarely felt in moscow. the last time was in 1977. the rescue operation is over a a bridge collapse in washington that sent three cars into a cold river. now a team from the national transportation safety board is being called in to investigation. yesterday afternoon a portion of the bridge north of seattle gave way. cars plunged 40 feet into the skagit river below. rescue teams and divers were

able to pull three people from the water. no one died or seriously injured. >> when the dust hit i saw the bridge start to blow. momentum carried us over. as you saw the water approaching you hold on as tight as you can. >> a washington state trooper says it appears part of an 18 wheeler clipped part of the bridge which made it collapse. meanwhile the ohio company that has made those bolts for the bay bridge is responding. in overnight news oakland police are looking for three men accused of robbing a group of people and they shot one of them apparently. ktvu channel 2 reporter tara moriarty is at the police station with more. >> reporter: police left the scene about 20 minutes ago. they just received word the victim was out of the operating room and was now in recovery.

that crime scene not a homicide scene, thankfully. this man this victim was taken by ambulance around 12:30 this morning. he was in critical condition. authorities tell us he was shot in torso after three teenagers robbed him. the victim was on the sidewalk with three other friends walking home after celebrating his birthday at a nearby club. this happened on the 1900 block of san pablo. police say that the teen stole a woman's coat with her wallet and credit cards and cash from another person they are only described as young african american male teenagerrers there is surveillance video we noticed earlier. investigators say they will look at that to get any clues and of course they will be tracking the credit cards to see if they can try to find their suspects that way as well. live from oakland tara moriarty. british police are trying to determine if the two men accused of a murder of -- he

was a ceremonial drummer and afghan war veteran. the two men accused of attacking him were shot by police and are in the hospital. police also searched several homes yesterday and arrested another man and a woman be it's not clear what their connection to the killing may be. police in moore say they misspoke when saying only 1200 homes were destroyed. authorities have estimated the damage to cost around $2 billion. 24 people were killed including ten children. a memorial for all the victims is scheduled for this sunday and president obama will travel to oklahoma the same day to meet with survivors. bart will run a longer test of bikes on board trains before making any permanent changes. survey shows an overwhelming majority of bart riders don't

goulet on a sexual assault charge. >> while being shot at and under deadly attack, four bridge and courageous law enforcement officers walked through the gates of hell, discharged their firearms, as they have been trained to do so under such circumstances and ended this horrific event. >> officers then made a disturbing discovery after the shootout. goulet was wearing body armor and carrying the guns he had taken from the two fallen officers. the ohio company that made the bolts that failed on the bay bridge has finally broken its silence. however the first public state could just fuel the bridge bolt controversy. the company says some top engineers issued a report just two weeks ago that concluded the bolts that snapped met all of cal tran's specifications. and dye son says that report exonerates it from any blame. we are getting our first close up look at the work to fix those broken bolts.

cal tran invited reporters to watch the project. it's designed to make sure the new bridge will be able to withstand a huge earthquake. cal tran is meeting later to decide if the opening day will have to be changed to a later date. the sheriffs office says it will no longer hand over certain illegal immigrants to the government. but it does not apply to drunk driving and domestic violence charges. the sheriffs office is still working with a legal department to figure out when the new policy can go into effect. japan's airways says it will resume service with its dream liner jets a few days than planned. they will use the jets on five flights. the airline says it's already run 170 training flights. it will resume full service of the boeing 787s on june 1st. that includes flights to and

4:48 is the time. sal has an update on the serious crash in san jose. >> that is right. we do have an update on that crash pam and brian. i want to show you video we took last night. this crash that happened at about 2:00 until the morning in san jose at the intersection of ruby and aborn. a woman was driving this black suv was trapped in this car for about 45 minutes. two drivers at the scene were not doing well it came for being tested for driving under the influence. there you see the woman who was finally taken out after 45 minutes. the car was completely damaged after it wrapped itself around a pole and again this is at at the intersection of ruby and aborn. just moments ago they towed this car away but there still may be some remanence of activity at the scene in san jose. let's go to the bay bridge toll plaza westbound. the traffic is moving along

it's still unclear who is at fault in a deadly collision between a bicyclist and a garbage truck. it happened in san francisco during the busy morning commute yesterday. police say the cyclist who was not wearing a helmet died on the scene. cyclists says the area is dangerous because there are no bike lanes at the intersection. fire house one was built to comply with the americans with disabilities act. that means it has three wheelchair accessible bathrooms
