and i want you to pay very close attention to the video. it comes to us from the dashcam of a charleston county sheriff's deputy in west ashley, south carolina. as you can hear, sirens were on and officials say lights going on too. the light is red, then watch. >> broad sided. >> broad sided. broad sided by a honda pilot. the 53-year-old deputy taken to the hospital, treated and released and so was the driver of the pilot. base even the evidence here, it doesn't look like she was paying attention. >> the officer still has the responsibility to clear the intersection before he just jumps out into it, no matter if he's got lights and sirens on. can't rely on other people around you to stop when they have the green light. >> but if you notice, he did do the right thing, lights and sirens on, does slow down, stops at the intersection, waits for the traffic to pass, and it seems this woman comes without ever putting on her brakes.
