under the hood. what is up? >> krista: he said he didn't have smoke in the cockpit. brought it down and looked at the hood. thought it was electrical but the smoke was rolling out of the hood. the crew chief thinks they may have a leak in the oil line. >> mike: a number of cars mitt pitstops. >> darrell: remember the hendrick engine earlier in the week in danica's car had an oil leak that they had to change the engine for. >> mike: next sunday nascar on fox, concrete and crab cakes. >> next week is fox's last race of the season. redried for the monster mile and all of the mayhem in dover. >> scary to race here. like a bad rollercoaster ride. >> the best glue tv closes out the season next sunday only on fox. mike we will be there with you

from dover delaware. the fed ex 400 benefiting autism speaks live on fox. 15 lead lap cars back to tony stewart who got the free pass on the caution. and still four cars trying to get from one lap back. and kasey kahne does not take off. it is kurt busch and kevin harvick leading the field into turn one! >> darrell: the 78 took off, though. he is long gone. >> larry: martin truex, jr. in the 56, he was all over the back of kasey kahne. not the first time that he didn't have a good restart tonight. had one earlier. >> darrell: spinning the tires earlier. i don't know what happened there. just didn't go it looked like. >> mike: the big loser there was martin truex lined up behind kasey kahne. truex is back to sixth place. matt, what happened to kahne? >> matt: just about every restart -- >> mike: trouble in the third straightaway. three wide. two cars pile hard into the wall!

>> darrell: a terrible wreck. mark martin into i think it was the 43 of almirola. came together. >> mike: three wide at the start-finish line and none of the three drivers would gave. jeff gordon along with aric almirola and marius payton hard crash. martin in a and bobby labonte also has damage. the window net is down and that is signal to safety crews that the driver is okay and going to climb out o of fuel under his own power. we will stop the cars here on the front straightaway. it all started at the start/finish line. >> darrell: i saw them coming through here three wide and kind of came together down here as you fan out to get down into turn one. you will see almirola. jeff gordon and almirola right in there. >> mike: and mark martin ahead

racing three wide and i mean that is going to happen when you -- i mean just going for the lucky dog and got to be aggressive back there. i got beat on the restart before that with ambrose and messd that one up. so i just aid we were even back there. had an awesome drive to end hunger chevrolet. love the patriotic colors on the car this weekend. a shame we were back there. we couldn't win, kasey is unbelievable but we had a top five car. >> jeff: glad you are all right. >> chris: you can hear the disappointment in his voice. kasey kahne currently is fourth. back to kevin harvick. 10th in points. a win this year but in 20 o of fuel 11 lid only two laps and won the coca-cola 600. the fewest laps ever led in a 600-mile race.

my favorite driver is jeff burton in the number 31 car. i'm a huge fan. >> i watched him develop through the circuit. denny always pushes it to the limits of nascar and consist independently is in the hunt and looking for the win. >> my favorite driver is tony stewart. because he is passionate about racing. has been racing all his life. >> ricky is my younger brother's best friend and i have known ricky since they were in high school. i couldn't be more proud of him and looking forward to his rookie of the year speech when wins this year. >> my favorite driver dale earnhardt, jr. as we see here. i don't need to say why. he is an earnhardt. that is all that needs to be said. earnhardts will always be number one in racing. don't believe me. the national guard side of it. a little more towards our side. junior is the best there is.

71 laps to go. just slightly over 100 miles. jeff burton who you just saw in the video gets the free pass. a look at charlotte motor speedway. nine caution flags tonight. debris. casey mears. debris, debris in the back straightaway. crash in turn number three. dale earnhardt, jr. lost an engine. debris in turn number one. up in turn four, landon cassill's crash and right there at the dog leg as they race three wide that is where the final caution came out. we have had nine of them. a total of nine of them tonight. not sure we are done. on a full moon sunday night in charlotte. >> darrell: i don't feel real good about us being done, mike. so aggressive and you heard every driver say, even harvick said the restarts are crazy this is when you make the moves and that is when you get in trouble. >> larry: ing is said it best and you said it darrell.

the race within the race. the race for the race lead but the race for the drivers trying to be the first driver one lap down to get back in the thing. >> mike: and that is what aric almirola said they were fighting for to be in the position to get the free pass and get back into contention and it is desperate time. >> darrell: but that is what the luckia dog does. puts you in traffic racing somebody that you are trying to get ahead of so if the caution comes out you just don't want to be the caution. but how many times have we seen it happen? >> mike: matt yocum? >> matt: to put a period on the 5 car of the kasey kahne restart issues they had several discussions before every restart of different things he might try so that he doesn't spin the tires. meanwhile, martin truex, jr. was concerned about possibly restarting behind the 5 as well because that messed up his restart the last time. he lost several positions. jeff? >> jeff: talk about spinning tires. what i want to focus on is what we talked about at the early part of the broadcast and how hard the race will be on

engines particularly. the main thing is this is not over with. i agree with darrell and larry as far as caution flags. i think we will see engine problems before all is said and steve? >> steve: kurt busch came in and they had to change the battery on the car. told the guys don't worry about this i'm used to things not being easy. i'm not going to give up now. >> mike: have to start at the tail end of the longest line but still on the lead lap. >> larry: still on the lead lap and four fresh tires. good job. pitted before pit road was open so that is the reason he has to start at the back. >> darrell: kurt really controlled himself well over here this week. disappointed at the all-star race. awesome race car tonight. got the battery problem. see if can he get back up there. >> mike: 16 cars on lead lap. kevin harvick is the leader. he elects the outside. ryan newman to the inside.
