hello, everybody. i'm beth troutman. get ready for some great videos and the stories behind them "right this minute". it's worse than a needle in a haystack trying to reach an injured hiker in a dense forest. >> this is not an easy place for a helicopter to put down a rescuer. >> how they pulled it off and pulled her out. a snowmobiler needs to cross a pond so he decides -- >> to try to jump this snowmobile and skip it across. >> we got two words for you. glug glug. >> an octopus spots aasty

morsel. ases >> how the camera caught the underwater snack grab. >> a guy decides why buy butter when you can just -- >> shake some butter. >> shaking butter for the man is for the ladies too. >> it's funnier to watch you guys do it. >> you're looking at helmet cam video of a search and rescue team worker as he's being attached to a short haul system that is dangling from a sheriff's office helicopter. they're about to lift this search and rescue team member into the air. this rescuer is headed out to rescue a hiker that hurt herself while out with friends. local firefighters went on foot, but they needed to bring the helicopter in to lift her out of this area. as you watch this rescuer fly over this area, you see it's heavily wooded. you've got some steep terrain.

this is not an easy place for a helicopter to put down a rescuer. >> nor find the person. >> you see the spec, tiny red spec, close to the bank of the river and you watch from the first person perspective helmet cam as this rescuer is lowered down closer to this hiker. >> this guy needs a cape, flies down in. >> the other rescuers help attach the short haul dangling system to this woman. she's in a harness, well strapped in. and watch as they lift her up above this steep wooded terrain. >> only her eyes are peeking out, they have her wrapped up like she's in a cocoon. >> we still have the helmet cam rolling. once they land her softly in, they then load her into the helicopter and transported her to a local hospital for treatment. s this is why you don't go

off roading alone. if you get stuck in a giant swampy mud puddle you want your buddies nearby to you out. >> >> that's a muddy bank. i'm surprised the truck trying do any rescuing is getting any traction. >> it tries at first to pull it out and doesn't succeed. tries a couple more times and just gives it a good tug. lets the line go slack and guns it up the bank and eventually starts to loosen that big white truck from the mud. >> i was expecting a big fail but instead this actually turned into a win. they were able to pull this guy out. watch what happens when he opens the doors to this truck. >> oh, yeah. >> right out of there. >> all that muddy methane gas. >> that was a water win. this i guess you call a water fail. this is uploaded to mark freeman's youtube channel. that's scott v. on a snowmobile. no snow anywhere in sight. just lots of dirt and dust. he's going to try to jump this

snowmobile and skip it across a pond. the problem here is he fails right in the middle of the water. apparently a piece of rope got sucked up into the track of the snowmobile and he lost power and you see scott promptly glug, sings to the bottom. >> down like a ton of. >> and the guys on the jet ski made for water come by, told you dude, that's a snowmobile. >> hook a line to it and tow it out of the water. >> that might be a little rusty. stinks to get your bike stolen. that happened to casey. filmmaker, popular youtuber. he's had a show on hbo and an avid biker. he says he got his bike stolen because -- >> this is my office and there's nowhere to lock your bike. i have to put mine at the end of the block there. >> one day he was in a hurry and locked his bike up like this.

>> i locked my bike through the stem instead of the frame. >> any enterprising bike thief need only an iron wrench to release the stem from the fork, circumvent the lock and take the bike. >> casey had an idea. ordered something from the internet where you can get anything. casey received -- his own bike rack. he put on this construction outfit like he works for the city. looks official aside from his converse all stars. takes the bike rack in front of his building. >> you look official. you can get things done. >> actually, you see an nypd van come by as he's installing this. happy day. look at this. my own personal bike rack. he says a day after installing the bike rack i was told to remove it or face criminal and civil penalties, worst if the rack was not removed i would be evicted from my studio which was a bummer. you see him at the end of the

video taking the thing down. >> oh. >> a valiant effort from casey. >> what started off as a fun memorial day at the beach ended up as a massive brawl in florida. t the guy in the orange shorts. >> someone runs up behind him, smacks him and he falls to the ground and as he's laying there, someone else comes and stomps right at his neck it looks like. and then more people come, they start kicking him. stomping on him. punching him while he's down on the ground. you see some people running away but that man was really hurt. friends over at waws spoke to the family and they told us that the man in the orange shorts is 20-year-old anthony jones and he

didn't have to spend the night at the hospital, but apparently there were no serious injuries because of this brawl. >> were people arrested? >> police are looking into this but at this point no arrests have been made yet. >> the controversy is whether there were enough cops there at the scene. they did end up needing the help of three other departments to control the crowd. robert evans, he was one of the men that was there, and he talked about how scary the whole situation was. >> this could have turned into a full-blown riot where the cops, with the amount around here, would not have been able to handle it. there were hundred of people. >> you would never have enough cops anywhere to control this crowd. it's sad at the beginning of the video you see kids running away and no regard for anybody else at the beach. the family is trying to have a good time. be tough.stupid peo trying >> a race car driver spots trouble up ahead. >> he sees one of his competitors that has crashed.

he pulls his car off the track to go help. >> why this act of sportsmanship ends with a twist. >> it's a game of caps and windshield wipers. >> is it coming after me? what's going on? >> see how this kitten actually gets wiped out.

even though race car drivers are on the track by themselves there's still a ton of sportsmanship and teamwork involved. we're riding along with fill wang in his formula 1200 car out going along the back straightaway. sees one of his competitors that has rolled his open wheel race car off to the side. he notices other drivers had already come to that guy's rescue. pulls his car off the track to help andrew wearing. at least one other driver had gotten to help lift his car. you see andrew stuck underneath this car and a couple of the race marshalls come over and other drivers to help andrew get

unstuck. >> helping this guy out is far more important than any race. >> what's more remarkable than this save. andrew went on to win this very race. the race was stopped briefly because of this accident and andrew went on to win it. >> i hope maybe the other guys on the track were this is a good guy, let's let him win. >> i think he won it outright. >> nice sportsmanship. >> when going on a family trip sometimes you like to take the dog along for a ride. this family in russia, took the cat. the kitten on the dashboard and entertainment abound. this kitten is like wait, the windshield wipers. >> what's going on? coming after me? what's going on? >> terrified and playing at the same time. >> it needs to be rescued a few times as it almost slips off the dashboard. the cat rolls off.

nick, if i were about to show you a video of a guy on a pedal bike doing tricks you you'd say we've seen that before a million times. you haven't seen tricks like this from tim knoll. he does all sorts of crazy stunts in this video, stunts we've never seen before. ♪ >> he's using things around him to incorporate into the tricks like sliding under that rail. never seen that. >> the bike is upside down and using it almost like a skateboard. >> grinds on the rail a little bit. >> like limboing under trucks. >> see him come up to the pa parking sign. grabs on and hangs on and spin around the entire time. back flipping over the hood of the car.

[ screaming ] >>s this is the coastal carolina baseball team. their nickname is the shantaclears. not celebrating like a home run or grand slam or anything. they are celebrating the fact they found out they're going back to the ncaa tournament. they're watching it on tv. yeah. there are 64 teams that make it to this tournament and they're chosen by a committee. so like, for example, coastal carolina didn't know they were going to be in the tournament until this moment right here. you can see the team at the beginning of this video very intently watching. you don't get to hear their name. >> connecticut -- >> you hear virginia tech will host connecticut -- but then in the graphic they were showing on the tv, their name popped up next. they were celebrating before the guy could say coastal carolina is also going back. >> that's awesome. everybody celebrating the same thing. >> i can't even tell you the last time i was like this excited. >> go. >> it was matt stoney's 21st birthday. instead of bingeing on booze,

he's going to binge on his 21st birthday cake. we've had him on the show before, he eats stuff, lots of it. this time he wants to break a record that was set in 2005 by rich lafever, by eating five pounds of cake in five minutes and 26 seconds. >> five pounds of take. >> this was approved and sponsored by major league eating and the international federation of competitive eating. get to it. >> this is like one of those generic grocery store cakes. not even like a fancy cake. >> just over four minutes he is three quarters of the way through. >> better hurry up, dude. the bad part about this is if you don't break the record you ate all that cake for nothing. >> the camera pans over and you see people in uniform. those are emts there just in case. >> just in case his stomach splits open. >> and he explodes.
