police are searching for the suspect who opened fire at a birthday party, killing two men. new information from ktvu's ken pritchett, he spoke with investigators and joins us now live. >> reporter: at least on the surface it would see police have little to go on, just a vague description of a man who fired and walked away. >> reporter: at noon today it looked peaceful. unless you spotted these flowers. he says last night this was a different place. >> i was getting in the bed. i heard shots and seen flashing lights and helicopters. >> the shots were fired at a birthday party across the street. police say four people were shot around 11:45 p.m. the two men who died had multiple gun shot wounds.

>> reporter: how many shots did you hear? >> 5. >> 5? >> 5. they are unloading. >> the party was taking place in the garage, police say the shooter was on the sidewalk. >> they walked up and started shooting into the crowd. >> reporter: the suspect is a latino male -- latino man, 5' 8", 20-30 years old with a goatee. >> after the suspect shot he walked away. >> reporter: police don't have a motive or indication the victims were targeted. she knows the dead, they are fathers who have homes doors away. >> it is sad. the kids come over here and plays. never been any problems over here. >> reporter: police don't have any indication gangs were involved. if anyone spotted someone walking to or from lin field drive before or after midnight.

ken pritchett, ktvu channel 2 news. woman made a discovery while walking her dogs this morning. a suspicious device, turned out to be a bomb about 7:30 a.m. the woman used her cell phone to alert authorities. >> got my phone, took a picture. called in and e-mailed the them they came out. probably half hour or so. >> experts took a look and cleared the area. it was a water bottle filled with fire crackers. the device was rendered harmless and the area was reopened. happening now, the first full day of construction on the bridge and drivers are warned to expect delays. ktvu's lorraine blanco is live at the toll plaza and says it was slow going this morning.

>> reporter: that's right. traffic is expected to move slowly here westbound. this morning it was a huge mess. this evening it is moving more smoothly. tomorrow, though, you should give yourself an extra few minutes. >> construction crews on the bridge shifted westbound traffic lanes to the eastbound bridge deck causing a big delay. >> traffic was sat 2 miles, took an hour to go 2 miles. >> reporter: it won't be as bad tomorrow. a 5-8 minute delay for three months while it replaces the bridge decks. the western drive on ramp is closed to traffic and there are four lanes on the eastbound side. >> we have narrower lanes and a traffic shift. we need have people observe that speed limit.

by using a detour. bigger trucks weighing more will have to take a 9-mile detour. woman was killed after her car crashed into a creek about 3:15 a.m. on 101. police say the woman was speeding and went through a fence. the vehicle ended up in a creek. she was under water for 10 minutes and they could not save her. she was the only person in the car. authorities haven't released her name. continues coverage on the most recent round of severe weather to hit oklahoma, missouri. res dependents continued digging out of the debris left behind. over the weekend they saw tornadoes, thunderstorms and flash flooding. many of the people who died were in their cars. oklahoma city's mayor said cars are the worst places to be. the death toll from the storms

. a car plowed into a cafe this morning in san francisco. the cafe was closed at the time and nobody was hurt. police got a call around 6:15 a.m. that a car was stopped. when police arrived the car sped away and crashed into the cafe. police found two men standing outside the cafe on mission street. it is unclear whether it was an accident or intentional. police have their hands full with three shootings that left four wounded. one shooting happened after 10:00 p.m. officers found two victims suffering from gun shot wounds. both were taken to the hospital. 10 minutes later shots a few

blocks away? juring another man and a woman was hit by gunfire. all of the victims were stable. so far police haven't made any arrests. also in oakland, police are planning to announce new ways to stop side show activities. yesterday morning one ended in a shooting that left three people injured. it was the latest in a series this year. most in east oakland. san jose police gathered for an emergency meeting to discuss the wave of violence after another homicide friday night. the fifth one in just one week. the police chief called in officers yesterday to discuss ways of curving the violence. this comes despite a crime crack down launched on friday with beefed up police patrols over the weekend.

faith leaders are planning a vigil on thursday to honor the victims and families touched by violent crimes. thousands gathered for free food and music and a march promoting peace, community and religious tolerance organized by a sikh center. >> reporter: drummers led the peace march in berkeley this morning. the sikh center organizes the event. more than anything they want oprah mote a sense of community. -- want to promote ashiness a sense of -- a sense of community. they gathered to sing and pray. leaders hope events like today's will dispel confusion.

19-year-old man feared dead after being swept over a water fall in yoko deign in yosemite national park. he was swimming in the merced witnesses saw him get pulled to the edge of a 594-foot nevada fall. >> a lot of people went there and i guess he was the only person that slipped away. they didn't think anything bad would happen. >> california highway patrol helicopter helped with the search today. this is the first time tragedy struck on a church trip. in 2011 three people were swept over the edge. emergency team in sacramento county called off the search for a 16-year-old boy missing in the sacramento river. the boy and a 13-year-old

in san jose work crews tried to clear out a massive tree that split in two and crashed into vehicles and two people. one side fell on parked cars, the other on a lawn bowling
