flores. >> and i'm jana katsuyama in for pam cook. we're going to take a look at weather and traffic with the two people that are here. steve and sal. >> that is correct. we have a bigger fog bank out there. temperatures will cool down again. parts of lake county and mendocino county. it's a tall, tall order this time of year to cool down. unless there is a huge fog bank. well, there is a big one but it will be cooler. here is sal. steve, right now on bay bridge metering lights have just gone on. you can see the toll plaza is getting filled in. it's backed up for a five to ten minute delay. nothing major but it certainly has changed. the other big traffic story we are following crossing the richmond,-san rafael bridge. two westbound bridge lanes have been shifted to the eastbound side and the speed limit near the construction zone has been reduced to 45 miles an hour. coming up at 6:30 we'll go back

live to the bridge to talk about average delays drivers could expect and for how long. now we go to san francisco. a tree is causing a big mess in a san francisco neighborhood. ktvu janine de la vega just arrived to tell us about the cleanup and how it could impact the commute. >> reporter: it's quite a sight south here. this big tree has come falling down. it came crashing down on this gold lexus. we are not sure if the owner knows this has happened. public works crew were out here assessing the situation and they are waiting for a special talk that is able to help the crews chop this up. i want to show you the root of the tree where you can see it

completely had come loose from the ground. and we were told at least by police that the public works crews were saying this has happened a couple times in the city where it's been old or rotted and that with combination of winds is a possible reason of why it came down. now back out here live again you can see sort of another angle from lumbard street. police are diverting westbound traffic. in just about a one block area. public work -- it could take a couple hours to get this clean up. reporting live janine de la vega ktvu channel 2 news. we are also following developing news out of oakland this morning. tara moriarty is live with what police are saying and hoping will lead to an arrest in a

triple shooting outside of a club that is just a few blocks from city hall. tara. >> reporter: two security cameras are wedged up in the corners of that bar. and they are hoping police are hoping that they provide clues z to who is exactly responsible for the shooting. we are walking down the sidewalk here because bullets were sprayed all along this sidewalk. one hit this furniture store. around 12:45 a male security guard and two women were shot outside the shadow ultra lounge. they were taken by ambulance to the hospital with nonthreatenings. >> i parentally there was some sort of verbal argument inside the party. they were asked to leave. shortly after the group left is when the shots rang out. >> reporter: hours after the

shooting police were still scouring the scene for evidence. a woman inside the bar described the mayhem to us. we will tell you how she helped the woman coming up. live in oakland i'm tara moriarty. oakland police are investigating at least seven other shootings over the weekend. one killed a 17-year-old. three of the shootings happened saturday night within the space of an hour. oakland police are scheduled to announce a new strategy to deal with side shows in a news conference later today. we'll have much more on the response to oakland's gun violent and side shows today at ktvu.com and noon news. seven people including five children are still missing from friday's storms. 13 people were killed including a star from discovery channel

program. a weather channel photographer who was part of another storm chasing team said he bare leisure vied the tornadoes -- said he barely survived the tornadoes. >> i said is everybody okay? he said yes, yes. >> one of the storm chasers killed was the star of the discovery show storm chasers. his son and a colleague were also killed. three more red cross volunteers from the bayer to help out. they joined seven other people from the bay area that were already there volunteering. the storm that caused so much destruction to oklahoma has sent winds and heavy rain to northern new england. in maine, vermont, and new hampshire about 30,000 people still don't have electricity. there are also reports of a possible torpid in south carolina.

the trend is to cool it down. and into tuesday. and right back up toward the end of the week. almost 60 in antioch. 54 walnut creek and concord. san jose 54. sfo53. half-moon bay 52. it will be a cool foggy day for many on the coast. southwest 21. but gusting to 28. west now at concord. some locations have a little southeast. san jose has been in on that. generally sfo had westerly breeze. livermore southwest. you get the idea. there is more of a sea breeze in place today. the fog will will be increasing today and tomorrow. that equals a cooler pattern. cooler for most. above average if you are still way inland. temperatures anywhere from 60s and 50s to 70s and 80s and 90s.

a third victim died after being hit by fallen rock. the fourth victim was buried under a landslide. more than a dozen suffered serious injuries. san francisco's hall of justice will remain in use for at least the next ten years. this comes inspite of the building being considered dangerously unstable in a powerful earthquake. a lack of funds prohibits any action. right now the building is used by hundreds of city workers and it's home to more than 600 inmates. the hall was built in 1958 and is not up to current seismic code. new this morning a sacramento soldier serving in afghanistan has been killed in the line of duty. the department of defense says 20-year-old ray ramirez died over the weekend when his unit was hit by an.

former intelligence analyst bradley manning is being tried in maryland at fort mead more than 30 miles from the white house. manning says he leaked the documents to raise awareness of civilian casualties in the wars in iraq and afghanistan. he faces life in prison in convicted. this afternoon the acting commissioner of the irs will face tough questions from congress. videos surfaced putting irs wasteful spending in the spotlight. as kyla campbell reports questionable videos were used for training purposes. kyla. >> reporter: not only did the irs pay for somebody to teach own video tape employees learning the dance called the cupid shuffle. >> i saw a ship. no, really i saw is a ship. >> reporter: and inspector generals report due out tomorrow is already being leaked to the media. this spoof and another track one called $60,000. the irs irs says they were for

training purposes. and $50 million spent on irs conferences in just a three- year period. the inspector general says irs employees attending one conference in california never negotiated lower hotel rates and paid $1500 to $3,000 a night for presidential suits. acting commissioner danny was not working for the irs when this happened but he will have to answer questions at this afternoon's hearing and another scheduled for thursday morning. we found that nearly three minute long video of the irs learning that dance. live in washington kyla campbell ktvu channel 2 news. a $1 million action is coming up tomorrow in santa claire real county. voters are being asked to choose a replacement for supervisor george who resigned on march 1st. shirakawa was convicted of corruption and gambling away public money but with six candidates to choose from analysts say it will be tough

extra police officers were on patrol in san jose over the weekend as part of an effort to reduce violent crime. larry held an emergency department meeting on saturday to discuss ways to deal with a serge in violence. it comes after five people were killed last week. the mercury news reports that faith leaders are calling for a prayer vigil at city hall on thursday to recognize the victims and their families. there is an app for just about everything. even crime fighting. a new app called my pd will allow people who live in dixon to report crime tips and syped in pictures. users can also e-mail police officers directly. dixon police is one of six agencies state-wide using the app. her personal struggle has inspired women all over the

world and brought a new awareness to hereditary cancer. yesterday she was with brad pitt for the london premier of his new movie world war z. she made the bold decision to under go surgery because she had an 87% chance of developing breast cancer. >> i feel wonderful. i'm very, very grateful for all the support. >> jolie also suffered the loss of her mother and aunt to kansas we are surgery her chances of breast cancer have now dropped to less than 5%. right now the oakland a's are looking like the hottest team in baseball and it continued with a hot streak this weekend with a sweep of the white sox. white sox pitcher chris has not allowed a run in 23 straight innings. that is until yesterday. they would snap that scoreless streak at 28. crisp goes for the run from

channel 2 morning news. it's monday, june 3rd i'm brian flores. dave clark is off today. >> and i'm jana katsuyama. pam cook is off today. three people were rushed to the hospital after a shooting at a nightclub. tara moriarty is there to show us the damage. tara. >> reporter: someone was spraying bullets down the sidewalk and two of them struck this furniture store. you can see one of them hit the tile right here and another went through the window. remanence of last night's shooting that left three people wounded. this happened around 12:45 in the morning. a male security guard and two women were shot outside the shadow ultra lounge. they were taken by ambulance to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. now there were hundreds of people outside the bar. it had been packed to capacity. about 300 people were having a private 18 and over party. >> i was having a conversation with a good friend of mine. and it just seemed like chaos.

just all of a sudden ruptured. i saw a young lady laying in the doorway. at the moment i didn't know what was happening. but i found out she had been wounded. >> reporter: she says she rendered aid by grabbing a jacket and pressing on the woman's gunshot wound. hours after the shooting police were still scouring the scene for evidence. back here live you can see there is two surveillance cameras at the bar. police will be looking at those to see who was responsible and if we get a suspect description from police we will pass it along to you. live from oakland i'm tara moriarty ktvu channel 2 news. oakland police are also investigating at least seven other shootings over the weekend. a 17-year-old boy was killed in the shootings and 11 others were injured. three of the shootings happened saturday night within the space of an hour. police have not made any arrests. oakland police are also scheduled to announce a? strategy to deal with dangerous

side shows today. the announcement comes after gunfire during a side show early saturday morning that left a woman in critical condition and wounded two men. people who live near 106th avenue and mccarthur says side shows are a problem almost every weekend. police believe the victims were spectators. we'll have much more on the response from oakland's gun violence and side shows today at noon and at ktvu.com. happening now cal trans crews are preparing to get to work on the richmond san rafael bridge. ktvu katie joins us live from the bridge that drivers will be noticing. >> reporter: we just drove across the bridge westbound and things are running rather smoothly. i want to show you the lanes that are closed down. you can see the eastbound lanes are blocked off and that is funneling traffic down into left lanes and there is also

the barricade so there is no shoulder. drivers are a little bit uncomfortable with that change this morning. so it is slowing things down. drivers say yesterday's change caused major delays. >> last night imparticular coming back from marin it took an hour to get here. >> reporter: the lane change won't cause those delays today.

speeds are reduced even further down to 25 miles an hour. heavy and large trucks may also have to take a detour under the interstate. construction is expected to last around three months. crews have not begun work quite yet. they are expected to start in the next half hour. traffic is picking up. things could get even thicker around 7:00 a.m.. this is the first weekday morning commute with the lane changes. you will want to give yourself a little extra time. now to sal. good morning. right now traffic is getting busy almost all over the place. around the bay area. once you get to san francisco southbound 101 looks good. there is a road jam on northbound 101. they are clearing up road work here at the airport. my advice to you is to use 280

we turn up the heat again. maybe not set on broil or thinking but it could be hot by saturday. thank you, steve. we are following that news in china where a massive fire at the poultry plant has killed at least 112 people. investigators say a ammonia leak may have caused the fire. there are now concerns that syria's civil war will grow to become a regional conflict. thousands of syrians are believed to be trapped as progovernment forces battle rebels close to syrian's border. the u.s. and russia have been trying to convene peace talks. but no date has been set. president obama has rejected a

plan to arm the rebels but the u.s. government has sent other aid including medicine and food. the trial of two suspects suspected in a gang rape is scheduled to begin gwynn with opening statements today. while as many as 20 people watched. two others suspects have accepted plea deals and two more are awaiting trial. the victim is also expected to testify. park rangers in owe semisee will resume -- yosemite for a teenager that was swept over a 600-foot water fall. the sacramento resident had gone to the park with his church group. officials say swimming above the falls is not illegal but the river is marked with signs

warning people of the dangers. san francisco muni says plans to improve service after posting another slow performance rate. muni's light rail trains had an on time performance rate of just under 50% in may. the transit agency blames old trains and rail tracks for the slow service. muni plans to make rail repairs, adjust the turn around and high more supervisors. transit officials says seismic work on the golden gate bridge is going according to plan. there have been no major problems on the bridge. the bridge should be able to withstand an 8.3 magnitude earthquake. major progress being reported from southern california while a wild fire

tower below and fog up above and low clouds are rising. we are seeing that fog bank up a little higher. here's a quick look at the top stories we are following right now. oakland police are searching for suspects in a triple shooting outside of a club just four blocks from oakland city hall. two women and a security forward were hurt. they are all expected to survive. intellect a new report says the irs spent more than $50 million on conferences between 2010 and 2012. that included more than $50,000 spent on videos of employees playing characters of tv shows. drivers could be delayed around 5-8 minutes. a downed tree is causing problems this morning.

blocking a street in the san francisco neighborhood. janine de la vega is live on lombard street to tell us about this. janine. >> well yeah a public works crew arrived. just one man here. he has a little saw in his hands. we are not sure how much this is going to do it. this tree is blocking all westbound lanes of lombard street. you can see where it came down and trapped the back of this gold lexus. we are told the triphone down around 4:00 this morning. a police officer who talked to a public works person was told it was likely old and rotted and winds may have contributed. fort nayly no one was injured.

a lot of people in the neighborhood say they didn't hear it come down. here's what one had to say. >> it's really shocking. i'm surprised they didn't do anything about that tree sooner because people have complained about it. >> and back out here live you can see police officer is blocking lombard. they are diverting traffic. it's just a one block area that is being blocked here by this tree. we do have a public works crew out here. and they've been assessing the situation. they did mention to me another crew is coming. police officers were not too concerned about this. you can take the side streets

out to go ahead and get around lombard. we will keep monitoring this situation to let you know what is happening. that is all we have here from the scene. janine de la vega ktvu channel 2 news. continuing coverage now on the wild fire in southern california. containment doubled over night and the fire is 40% surrounded. the fire is burning in steep rugged terrain. evacuation orders are in place. firefighters say cooler temperatures and rising humidity overnight helped firefighters build significant line around the fire. >> the parks forward commission will study how to revamp the park system for 18 months. the group of private sector business leaders will come up with recommendations to how big the park system should be to ideas on how to generate more

revenue. we have an update on a dog that touched hearts. the following photos are photographic. about a year and a half ago the dog lost her snout after throwing herself in front of a motorcycle to save two young girls. she has been given the okay. while it was not possible to reconstruct the upper snout the team was able to seal the wound preventing future infection. the police department will have a special sendoff for some of their four legged officers. three police horses will retire this morning. chief greg suhr will honor the horses for their service outside of lefty o'douls. hammer and rebel served between 1-2.5 years. time now is 6:48. we talk about some of the lane configurations that may be causing delays on the richmond

san rafael bridge. sal is keeping an eye on everything. is everything looking okay? >> things are busy. traffic is moving along pretty well in some areas and not so well in others. and traffic is going to take awhile to adjust to it. bay bridge backed up to a 25-30 minute delay. we have emergency road work on the peninsula that has become a big problem. now the southbound lanes are okay. northbound is not. northbound by the way across the bay northbound 880 there is an accident clearing from one of the lane there is. let's go to steve. sal, thank you.

fog bank is much, mump bigger here. it is really sold out on the coast. not a lot is pushing inland. it's going to impact many locations. stay with cooler weather. 50s. upper 50s to almost 60 degrees. much deeper and much thicker. there is another one right off the coast. that is really helping ramp it up. so fog and sun and cooler. 60 and 70s and 80s for many. not much change if anything.

new this morning police are investigating the death of a woman found at a santa rosa park. two girls discovered the body while playing at happy valley park. the body has not been identified but police say the woman is white and appears to be in her 50s. so far police say there are no signs of trauma and foul play either. an autopsy is scheduled for later this week. mookie could face more charges in a deadly crash.
