not been yet officially suspended. but we're following the investigation. just ironic that melky cabrera would be in town tonight. he could be a repeat offender facing a 100 game suspension. every time you think it's over, it comes up again. >> this is remarkable. this is what baseball doesn't need and these are some of the biggest names in the game. >> huge names. it impacts the bay area with bartolo colon. >> thank you. there is new video tonight of an act of sabotage at a pg&e substation in the south bay. authorities say whoever did it knew exactly what they were doing. new at 6, robert handa got ahold of that video. what does it show? >> reporter: what's important for the sheriff's department is what the video reveals about the attack that took place at this substation and other attacks nearby. the attacker has done

everything with an expert hand. the sheriff says she hopes that insight will help the public help investigators. a number of security cameras are situated around the substation in santa clara county. today the sheriff showed some of the video from april 16th around 2:00 a.m. when someone shot up the system with a high powered rifle. you can see sparks fly. laurie smith says what this and other unreleased video reveals, the shooter is able to stay on the fringe of the camera shots. >> we're releasing the video tape today because it reinforces, we want the public to keep giving us information. the fact that we don't see the perpetrator. the person knew what they were doing. >> reporter: the person has unusual knowledge of the layout and nearby at&t lines. smith reminds the public of the expert sabotage that took place minutes before that set up the

gunfire. >> we have the suspect or suspects opening two separate manholes to go down to hit the at&t power lines that knocked out police communications. that was just a few minutes before the shots were fired. >> reporter: investigators are still examining other video pictures. >> we have shadowy pictures. at least one. we're trying to work on getting descriptors and get some identifying information on that. we're working on that. >> reporter: investigators have not said when they might release more of the surveillance video. at&t has offered a $250,000 rita williams ward in the case. reward in the case. developing news out of fremont. a horrific crash has killed a toddler and injured at least two other people. the accident happened about 1:00 this afternoon on paseo padre parkway. that street is still closed at this hour. cara liu is there.

you spoke to a witness. what did she see? >> reporter: she tells me when she ran up to try to help she found a toddler lifeless, still strapped to his car seat just a few feet away from the back half of this car here. to give you a sense of the scene, a lot of it is still out here now. the front half is in the street. the impact from this crash was so violent it split car in half. the back end landed some 15, 20 feet away from the front half. debris is scattered. the red honda was driving down paseo padre when it hit a tree so hard the car split. a woman who lives nearby says she saw the car speeding moments before the crash. she found the man lying in the street, a woman trapped in the passenger seat and the toddler in his car seat in the back half of the car. >> i was spooked. i have my own son. you shouldn't speed at all. there's no point for it.

>> reporter: investigators tell us an offduty doctor stopped to help and started cpr before firefighters arrived and took over. paseo padre has been shut down since just before 1:00 and could remain closed to traffic for at least another hour. police have been measuring skid marks and crepting evidence. they'll try to find out how fast this driver was going y ha the influence. you can see from news chopper 2 how bad this crash was. this investigation has been going since about 1:00 this afternoon in part because of how far and wide this debris was spread. >> it's covering portions of three homes. if you can estimate on a street three single family homes, it's at least spread out that wide. there's debris in the front yards of three homes. >> reporter: this is a family headed to a nearby water park. the toddler was killed in this crash.

both the mother and father suffered major injuries. we are hearing the father has just now gone into surgery. a run away suv caused serious damage to a home this morning and sent one person to the hospital. take a look at this. emergency responders say the driver apparently lost control on a steep hill and then slammed right into the garage of a home on keith street. a passenger in the suv was taken to the hospital. no one in the house was hurt. police say someone drove up alongside a van just before 11:30 last night and fired multiple shots. the 30-year-old driver of the van was killed. a female passenger was shot and would bed. another man was hurt when the van slammed into a power pole. no arrests have been maid and police say they don't know of any motive. a broken water line shut down the main oakland police station today. a spokesperson says the high

pressure line broke on the third floor. professional cleaners were called in to handle the mess. no evidence was damaged. the building is reopen tomorrow. the city of san francisco is suing a start up that allows travelers to rent out their own cars at sfo instead of paying for parking. flight car refuses to pay the airport 10% of its profits and $25 per rental like other rental car companies are required to do. flight car says it's exempt because it's not a rental car agency and doesn't operate on airport property. medical marijuana dispensaries will have to pay a 10% tax on sales. pot clubs have been paying 7% tax, not all of the city's clubs have been contributing. the city expects to take in an

extra $1.5 million from the tax hike. marijuana collective the say they hope the city will now approve regulations to allow them to operate above board. >> i really hope the council puts reasonable regulations in place. >> today the city council approved a separate ordinance that would allow it to go after businesses that don't pay the tax as a public nuisance. another case of hepatitis a is being linked to frozen berries. a 22-year-old santa clara woman was hospitalized after eating the frozen berries. she is recovering well. this is a third reported case here in the bay area. more than 30 people in five states have become ill. police say dna evidence has led to new rape charges against a man serving prison time for an attempted rape. 32-year-old francisco hernandez

marietta was convicted in an attack in june of last year. now police say dna from a swap test has it linked him to an uninvolved sexual assault in 2010, also in walnut creek. one in five californians depends on med-cal. right now you're looking at cleanup of this massive rally -- >> reporter: if they took effect it could mean higher bills for individuals or hundreds of layoffs at a well known san francisco nursing hospital. bus after bus, 100 of them from all over california bringing thousands of people to the capital steps. their demands. >> no more cuts to med-cal --

santa clara county voters have until 8:00 tonight to cast bat ballots. the election is to replace george jr. who resigned after admitting he misused taxpayer money. we saw one polling place where only three voters stopped by in two hours this morning. if none of the six candidates gets 51% of the vote, a runoff election will be held in july. for the first time we are hearing from the daughter of oscar grant. oscar grant was shot and killed by a bart police officer in 2009. only on 2 continue, rob roth is here with how his daughter is preparing for the upcoming movie about her father's death. >> reporter: a block party is just getting underway here in oakland's diamond district. among the participants is oscar grant's young daughter who is

helping pass out movie posters and cards for the hollywood film about her father. it isn't christmas but it felt like it for at that tatiana grant. >> it makes me happy. >> reporter: why? >> because i never had so much posters. about my dad. >> reporter: the movie is about the events leading up to the death of her father. the film is expected to open up next month. tatiana's family doesn't want her to see the film until she's older. >> it's up to her when she becomes a teenager. >> reporter: oscar grant's death was captured on cell phone video. grant was on the ground of the bart station when bart police officer shot and killed him. he has said he thought he was

using a taser, not a gun. the incident sparked outrage in the community. tatiana was just 4 years old when her father was killed. >> we're fortunate our story is being told. it happens to a lot of people nationwide. >> reporter: quote, i just open the anger is gone. i hope the movie doesn't engender that kind of anger again. the family still wants her to experience the excitement surrounding the movie opening >> i just want her to be as much a part of all of this as she can without seeing the movie. and to be happy. >> when my family goes to watch it we all remember from back other years when we were little. >> reporter: the film won the grand jury prize at the sundance film festival early this year.

today was the second day of a gang rape trial of two men in richmond. they are on trial at the same time with two separate juries. they are charged with taking part in the gang rape of a 16- year-old girl outside of a dance in 2009. today prosecutors say he raped the girl but his attorney said his client only got on top of the victim. >> what mr. montano did in jumping down and then jumping back up and leaving, was that good behavior? absolutely not. we don't want our kids doing that. >> cameras were not allowed in the court for witness testimony, but the victim's father did take the stand today. he described seeing his daughter as she was wheeled from the scene and said there was a footprint on the side of her face. palo alto police have released this sketch of a man who they say attacked and groped a female jogger sunday morning. police say the woman was able

to fight the man off and he ran away when two bicyclists came by. the suspect is described as latino or latino and black man about 20 years old, 5'8". anyone with information is asked to call police. the fbi says a pair of men has hit three bay area banks in a series of take down robberies. the first happened at a wells fargo in san francisco on april 19th. yesterday the same men robbed two banks in the space of two hours. investigators say the armed robbers held employees and customers against their will while they were committing their crimes. their get away car is described as a light colored older model ford taurus. amazon is reportedly getting ready to bring grocery delivery service to the bay area. the company has been offering delivery for about five years. sources say the service will come to los angeles as soon as this week and the bay area
