destroying her reputation. the district attorney has the dna to prove george shirakawa is guilty. >> the dna from the stamp matched george shirakawa. >> prosecutors say george shirakawa turned himself in this morning, booked and released. a run off election has been set for july 30 in the race to replace george shirakawa. she fell short of the 50% required to win during yesterday's election. she received 41% followed by another who had 31% of the vote. elections officials say they are still counting some mail-in ballots but not enough left to put her over the top.

sunk. >> a diver helped the man to the shore. he is 50 years old of san francisco and facing vandalism, evading arrest and hit and run. police are looking for a man who went on a crime rampag he is 5'9", 200 pounds and considered armed and dangerous. police say this surveillance video shows him walking into a auto shop holding a gun yesterday afternoon. he tried to carjack a car out front. investigators say that was part of a string of crimes that included two shootings, three carjackings and three kidnappings. reports of an argument and death threats led to a police shooting. an officer opened fire on a man living on a boat.

a late development in that horrible crash where a car was ripped in half killing a three- year-old boy. we have just learned sad news about his mother who was also in the car when the crash happened. ktvu's rob roth is live with that. rob? >> reporter: frank, police have confirmed a second member of the family involved in the car crash on paseo padre parkway between chadbourne drive and dorne place has died. it is the mother joie gil. >> people brought flowers to a sidewalk memorial where the car hit the tree.

the car struck the tree with such force it flung a child into a fence strapped in his car seat. the boy was angelo gil. neighbors are in disbelief. >> we had a garage sale and they were chatting up with us. walkingwalking with their son and using his outfit walking. >> reporter: also killed was angelo gil's mother p, joie gil -- mother, joie gil, who died today. the father, gilbert gil who police say was the driver is expected to survive. police say they are still investigating the accident and haven't determined whether they will bring charges against the father. >> i see him out with his boy. he would like to be in the garage playing with the puppy. yeah. >> police also haven't revealed how fast the car was going. witnesses said 100 miles per hour.

police rushed to the school. a police officer testified he saw 4-6 males running from the scene. he found the victim un bench, mostly naked. she moved her head and let out a moan and i knew she was alive. he testified about a man who was detained after the incident. he was animated, agitated. screaming at the officers. he said he transported him to the station and he talked in a rambling fashion about the victim. she didn't know what was going on. i wasn't the only one. she wanted it. he testified at the scene he had to tell the victim's father what happened. i let him know his daughter was raped. the officers testified and none was asked about the suspects on trial. the prosecution is laying the ground work in the case against
