101 is light. let's go back to the desk. we begin with a fire for parts of the north bay and it is not the heat firefighters are concerned about. isolated thunderstorms and lightning is what they are worried about. several coming overnight and this photo was taken north of vacaville. lightning is being blamed for a grass fire and the fire burned about four hours on pleasant valley road before they were able to put it out. cal fire called extra firefighters on standby just incase they broke out. and in grass valley it was ready to be dispatched at any moment and firefighters are responded to 2000 fires across the state. meantime firefighters are trying to put out a fire in

riverside county. so far it has burned 1,300 acres. firefighters say it is causing a lot of problems in the valley. we have breaking news where an early morning fire is now being called a crime scene. joining us with what they found they brought in an arson investigator and police. >> reporter: the narcotics san francisco task force is out here and what they have been doing over the past few hours is loading hundreds of marijuana plants, all of them were discovered inside of this home earlier this morning. the fire started in the city's richmond district and when crews came, they found smoke coming from the ground and they

noticed a large number of illegal plants and it appears to be a large grow house which includes an addition to the back of the house. the fire battalion said it was difficult for his crews to walk inside the house. >> hiding was going on inside the building and there was a lot of electrical wiring. >> now there is no word on exactly how this fire started at this point but an arson investigator has been called in to try and pinpoint the exact cause. there was electrical wiring discovered and that will be the focus of their investigation. it is unclear if anybody has been arrested in connection with the grow house and earlier san francisco police appeared to be wrapping up their

investigation at this point. i happened to be hearing back from them shortly. live in san francisco ktvu channel 2 morning news. well, it was a scary incident in the east bay and it is bringing back terrible memories -- terrible memory. a limo packed with women heading to a party and it happened in the city's retirement community. seven elderly women and three caregivers were heading to a party in sonoma when the limo burst into flames and the driver pulled over and ordered everybody to get out. >> after we got out, i backed them up and the black smoke was billowing out of the car. >> everybody was shaken but nobody was hurt. it appears an electrical

problem started the fire. now this comes one month after that deadly tragedy five people came trapped and they are investigating both the cause of that fire and the response by the limo driver. and they are looking into a crash which happened by a woman and the driver. she was riding with her husband when the driver hit them from behind. she hit them and sheered off a light pole. the woman died at the scene. >> they happened upon the scene and tried life saving efforts as well. >> the husband was treated for a leg jury and also a bus

collided with a truck in oakly the contra costa times had showed they were apparently running in the beak's path. and at stand it monica college, -- santa monica college a shooting victim was pronounced dead. he shot and killed his father and brother before heading to the college and opening fire on students. yesterday marcel low frankco guide from her injuries and she was riding in a car when he shot them and her father also died in that attack. >> my husband was a very wonderful husband. he was my husband. >> three people were shot and killed by police. a vigil is planned for today at

santa monica can campus. time now, the man accused of killing seven people at oikos university is due back in court this afternoon. a judge in alameda county will get a ruling on one goh. he was not competent to stand trial and is currently being held in a minute tall hospital and the judge has suspended all legal proceedings against him. there has been agreeing number of drive by -- a growing number of drive by shootings in san pablo many near the border of richmond so now they are making plans to install high tech cameras in the city's high crime areas and they will be able to even identify people inside the car. they are holding a public
