pam cook. >> nothing boring about our weather. >> well, in the last 72 hours, it was incredible and you may not see a pattern like this and we go from blazing heat to really cool and the lightning show is impressive especially to the north, sonoma and parts of the east bay, it is starting to pick up along the peninsular as well and cloudy storms, winds breezy and cooler, here is sal. okay, excuse me. i did not know a thing, katie, thank you. >> you have lightning near menlo park, thank you. >> we do and it has been quite the show and we know it has been hot and dry and i will step out of the way and show you, that dark band of clouds is where we have seen the lightning strikes, we have seen some horizontal and we have seen cloud-to-ground lightning

somebody called 911 and firefighters got here and knocked out a small fire and found a good sized marijuana grow operation inside this place. they found the area loaded with marijuana plants and it is all worth several $100,000. this grow was discovered at the 500 block of 35th avenue and after going inside they found a dangerous electrical set up even an addition to the back of the house and all of that created challenging conditions for fire crews. >> there is a lot of electrical wiring and obstacles, a lot of ventilation and an and rat russ -- an apparatus is put into the building and it makes it difficult.

the business news in just a bit. >> we will smile and say good morning, it is monday june 10th, i am dave clark. well, mother nature is putting on quite a show this morning and hundreds of lightning strikes have been spotted all over the bay area. fire agencies are definitely worried about this and katie joins us from menlo park. >> reporter: well the morning commute is definitely illuminated by some of those lightning strikes. my photographer says oh, there is is another one and it is starting to clear up a bit and let me show you, for the most part the storm is delivering dry lightning without rain which is particularly dangerous and several areas has dried up the grass and the fire watch covers parts of the north bay

tips ktvu channel 2 morning news. >> all right, katie, 632, san francisco police are searching for the owners of a house which burst into flames just hours ago and they are telling us what they found as they were putting out those flames, alex? >> they responded to reports of a house fire which is behind us and they saw smoke coming from this place but they found a small fire and a good growing marijuana operation. this place quickly grew to a crime scene as they loaded everything into the back of a pickup truck. this grow was uncovered after the fire started at the home just before 1:00 this morning and this is on the 500 block of

. we have heavy rain over san jose and we have a possibility of thunderstorms to the north and things could really pick up. here is a quick look at some of the top stories at 6:43, just hours ago, police removed hundreds of marijuana plants from a burping house in the richmond district. they called to put out a fire in the rear of that house and it is still not clear who owns that house. a fire watch is covering many bay area communities this morning, thunderstorms and light lit are a big concern. in fact the lightning is blamed for a grass fire just outside of vacaville and it burned for about three hours before it was put out. a 58-year-old dublin woman was hit and killed after riding her bicycle. the woman as husband was also hit by the car but only

suffered minor injuries and the 18-year-old driver was questioned and then released. >> happening in florida, the trial starts for george zimmerman, the neighborhood watch man charged with shooting and killing trayvon martin and a jury selection is set to begin, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, pam, i will bring you up to speed as to what is happening right here and at 9:00 things got underway an accident accident's attorney essentially asked the judge to delay the jury selection because they wanted to talk more about evidence in this case but the judge said no, we are going to go ahead and start with jury selection and so that is where we are right now. court is in recess and they have now handed out questions to potential jurors.

>> well the limousine burst into flames and they were shaken up as you can imagine but luckily nobody was hurt. in fact the ladies went on to their birthday party and right now it appears an electrical problem started that fire. this starts as one month after that deadly tragedy, after five women going to a wedding celebration were killed when they were trapped in the back of a limousine town car. they are investigating both of the causes of that fire and how the drivers responded. they are trying to put out a wildfire in riverside and so far, it is 15% contained. it is causing a lot of fire and no word on what started that
