have been killed this morning. the man killed 63-year-old elevator worker. ktvu is joining us live to explain what went wrong and what's happening right now. katie. >> reporter: within the last hour, people apy have arrived on the scene. the very intense and emotional union here on the construction worker and the family as they're being informed. the investigators have been going in and out of the stadium. and you know there is been so much dpiement in this new stadium and now the mood has been taking a drastic turn of a lost of an experienced worker. >> we are deeply sadden. >> just as the workday began around 6:50 this morning. turner-devcon is the company in charged of the project. noo the person die on the ground floor of the stadium on the east side. >> a

santa clara city spokesman says a man killed crushed at the bottom of the elevator shaft when another worker took the elevator down. why he was in the shaft remains unclear. >> an elevator worker can be on a can or in the shaft, they can be in the pit or they can be working at an elevator machine on the roof. so those are the locations that we have yet to know that from the investigators. >> project managers sent home more than 1000 construction workers hereafter the accident. now, finishing the stadium is not the priority. >> we'll check with them ly restart. the. >> instruction leaders say safety and not construction speed is their goal. >> last week we gave out words to

morning. ktvu terry is live in napa. >> a young reception has opened a letter that's claimed to be laced with a blood of a person. she notified another worker and they called 911. this is all unfold ld shortly after 8:00 this morning. dozens of employees were being evacuated. the doctors company on the website on the website is the nation's largest physician owned medical malpractice center. the woman who opened the letter, 25-year-old a new bride who was immediately put into ambassador teen, we spoke to her husband by phone. >> it is unbelievable that someone would do something like that as far as ascending a letter that's blood filled and i am shocked. >> this materials crews have isolated the letter and contained it in plastic. >> the

cause. a milpitas father caused o of a car crashed that killed his son. 34-year-old gilbert gil was arraigned yesterday of two charges in connection of the june 4th of south pay driveway. police say two cars were racing when they crashed on gregory lane near cars avenue just after 12:30 this morning. one drive was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. the driver of the other car also went to the hospital and she was arrested there. police say she's facing charges of drunk drivinge scene of an accident. no words on other drivers were to face any

charges. 48 south bay members of a major prison gang. 39 men and 9 women were named of the indictment. the others are charged with crimes included armed robbery and drug trafficking and attempted murder. the indictment represents three years of work by local state and federal law law enforcement officers. >> we spent thousands of hours with hundreds with agents and individuals and law enforcement officers and prorts to investigate these crime and bring these individuals to justice. >> the charges were handed down following testimonies from dozens of witnesses before the santa jand jury.

continue to slenten our borders. >> senate majority read says he hopes to finish voting on the bill before july 4th. police are searching for a gunman after two men were shot not far from san monica college. the victims were shot multiple times but their condition rs not known, investigators are trying to figure out if this shooting is related to another near by shooting that wounded a cyclist on sunday. this violent event comes after the friday shooting that killed five people near the campus. an individual was held at the school last night. tonight's graduation ceremony will double for the memorial victims. investigators say they have determined the motive behin shooting but they're not releasing it to the public.
