that is where ktvu's jade hernandez joinses live with neighbors concerned tonight and what deputies say was an heroic act by one employee. >> reporter: the woman we spoke to owns a business cross the street and learned about this attempted armed robbery via text as a warping. the owner of boulevard burger behind me, also wants the community to know about this incident. so she put up a sign, but for a very different reason. the chalkboard sign recognizes the valor of alameda county sheriff's office and last night a boulevard burger employee ran outside of the restaurant after an armed robber snuck inside and flagged down a deputy, settling a routine traffic stop outside. >> the employees took it upon themselves to attack the robber, and had a pretty significant struggle with him. >> reporter: sergeant nelson says one of the employees put his hand up to stop the suspect from firing at the deputy. deputy in response shot and killed the robber, who was carrying a loaded .357 revolve every. >> well, you have the female

lights. we have a real problem out here with people trying to stretch the yellows into orange and not stopping for reds all. >> reporter: all three adult were airlifted to john muir medical center, the driver of the charger cannot survive. children were rushed to oakland's children's hospital and investigators are looking into whether distracted driving or other issues may be to blame. >> we would look into impairment being involved, we would like into maybe if there was a medical issue that happened. >> reporter: cara liu, ktvu channel 2 news. investigators are trying to figure out what caused a single car crash in emeryville that left two young men dead. the victims were in the car when it veered off the road and hit a tree at 12:40 a.m. police say both victims were 22 years old. investigators have yet to say whether speed and alcohol were factors in the car. >> many marin county investigators say say fire at a commercial uniform service appears to have origin yeatsed

in the pile of rags. at aramark the fire was reported this afternoon. firefighters say a large container of rags caught fire outside of the building. >> a hundred feet by hundred feet, large area of fire, threatening some of the were able to quickly extinguish the fire with our engine-mounted deck guns. crews say several nearby buildings were threatened before the fire was put out. investigators are still looking into the cause. in san rafael, smoke billowed from a garage. firefighters say when they got there just before noon, someone who lived in the house was trying to put out fire. the gulfstream was full of blownings and the fire spread quickly to the attic, but crews were able to keep the flames from spreading further. police returned to a vacant lots a day after officers in
