maize. we are -- this is a look at the bay bridge toll plaza. the traffic is moving along pretty well. we are following breaking news in san jose after one person is dead. ktvu janine de la vega is in san jose with more details. >> reporter: i'm here at the intersection of pearl and hillsdale. you can see it is blocked off because of this accident. you can see there is a car right there. a toyota. its top has been ripped off. this accident happened at 2:00 this morning. police say it appears a toyota avlon which was driving at a high rate of speed lost control and crashed into five parked cars. the 18-year-old driver survived but was rushed to the hospital with injuries. >> when officers responded and got on scene, they found a victim trapped on the passenger

welcome back on this monday morning. waking up with partly cloudy skies. it's a cool start. subtle changes in the afternoon as the cooling trend deepens tomorrow. all eyes on the supreme court this morning to see if today is the day the justices hand down their ruling on proposition eight the ban on same sex marriage. they won't say when the ruling will come. we do know it will either be this morning, thursday morning, or one day next week. the justices have just 19 cases left before the current session ends at the end of this month. a group of nuns traveling around the country to push for immigrationly form will make a stop in the bay area today.

they are urging support for education for the estimated 11 million undocumented immigrants here in the u.s.. this afternoon they have a meeting with silicon valley technology leaders in santa clara. two fremont police officers are on the leave this morning for a man who stormed through his own home with a knife. >> he was out of control. he was throwing things. taking pictures off of walls. overturning furniture and throwing furniture out rt window. >> police say the 53-year-old man stabbed his mother and brother and confronted officers who arrived to help. there are no details on how he threatened police but two officers did fire their weapons killing the man. the relatives stab wounds are considered minor. they had been to the home several times for similar disturbances. now 4:45. a natural gas leak near san

francisco's most cone knee center tied up traffic and forced several hundred people to evacuate. it happened about noon when construction workers hit a pg&e line. along with the museum of modern arts, and some nearby apartments. they helped move seniors to a nearby church. >> we started smelling gas there. 5,000 people are shut out of the conference including my daughter-in-law. >> pg&e's response to gas leaks has come under scrutiny since the pipeline explosion killed eight people and destroyed 38 homes. pg&e says crews were on the scene about 20 minutes after the leak was reported.

welcome back. time now 4:52. a woman intentionally lifted the lid off a concord storm drain and jumped in. witnesses called police after watching the woman jump feet first into the ten-foot describe. a sheriffs deputy said she was looking down at her when she ran down a sewage tunnel. that is when they were lowered into the drain to track her down. the woman was hoisted up and taken to the hospital for evaluation. the man of steel was the man of green at the weekend box office.
