hours ago. he said progress is being made. he said it's time for someone from the outside to take a look. this morning we watched as a b.a.r.t. police officer helped a rider. visibility and outreach, just one of the bowls of b.a.r.t. police. although -- goals of b.a.r.t. police. one rider told us he's not sure why he doesn't feel safe. >> i'm really actually not sure. i don't feel safe or comfortable. >> reporter: it's been more than four years since oscar grant was shot and killed by police. three years since rainy took over and promised change. >> we're further along than i expected. done some things that i didn't expect we would be able to do. but certainly, there's some things that i wish we would have made more progress on and we haven't. >> reporter: but the chief admits more can be done. some said police response was lacking when the naked b.a.r.t.

being played tomorrow in oakland at the grand lake theater. the film was shot in the east bay and was directed by ryan kuglar. at the sundance film festival "fruitvale" was the big winner. a man accused of running a brother with his wife is due in san francisco this afternoon. agents raided the apartment on mcclelland drive. bags of evidence were removed with what authorities are calling a mulety-state prostitution thing. 35-year-old zhi liu and his wife are accused of trafficking women from boston and new york to brothels in sacramento and san mateo counties. >> tomorrow afternoon, there will be a hearing to examine the source of funds, such that a person cannot use ill-gotten gains to boat their own bail -- post their own bail. >> his wife is still on the run. authorities say the couple

operated a brothel from the san bruno apartment before moving it to south san francisco. a third girl is accusing a former coach of molestation. prosecutors have filed new criminal charges against 51- year-old barron edwards. a judge raised his bail to more than $34 million. edwards faces 39 felony charges. he coached for several years at kennedy high school in richmond. he's scheduled to enter a plea on july 2nd. two san francisco landlords are going to prison for harassing their tenants in a deal the district attorney announced this morning. in a story we first brought you five years ago, kip and nicole casey were accused of cutting the floor beams in one of their apartments and threatening the tenants' lawyers. >> i think some of you named this landlord, the landlord from hell. i think that was a very appropriate name. >> the couple will plead guilty to burglary, stalking and grand theft and each be sentenced to four years and four months in

prison and receive two strikes under california's three- strikes law. he was famous for the catchphrase, "you're gonna like the way you look. i gashty it." now now george zimmer has been out of -- now george zimmer has been ousted from the company he founded. janine de la vega is live with what employees had to say. good afternoon, janine. >> reporter: well, workers are surprised. they say that george zimmer used to come in the store from time to time. they describe him as very likable and friendly. used to see him on the dance floor at company corporate parties. now it's unclear if we'll ever see his familiar face on tv anymore. >> i guarantee it. >> reporter: zimmer has been appearing in commercials for men's warehouse since 1986. he founded the men's clothing store that specializes in suits in the 1970s, starting a small store in texas. it grew nationwide to more than 1100 stores. the company's executive offices

are in fremont. no one there would speak to us on camera about zimmer. the company released a statement saying zimmer is no longer chairman and the shareholder meeting today was being postponed. we just received a statement from zimmer which says, "over the past several months i've expressed my concerns to the board about the direction the company is currently heading instead of fostering the kind of dialogue in the boardroom that's been attributed to our success, the board has chosen to see rent me by terminate -- ter -- silence me and terminate me as an executive officer." >> that's gonna be -- that would be strange if the two are not connected, seeing him and the way he talks. >> i've always been very pleased with the warehouse. >> reporter: the company says

the union representing concession workers at at&t park is urging fans not to buy food at the ballpark. they say they are fed up because they haven't had a raise in years. ktvu's brian flores joins us live to explain what's going on today. good afternoon, brian. >> reporter: good afternoon, tori. well, it's much quieter than yesterday. you will recall from yesterday that 44 people were involved in a sit-in during the giants' game from yesterday. ten people were arrested. again, nothing like that, but the union representatives say the same message needs to be heard today. these are not concession workers here. some are members of unite here local 2. there are fans who support the efforts of the concession workers. about 300 people pictured outside of the -- picketed outside of the park. about ten people were arrested later released for not

following the fan code of conduct and not leaving when authorities told them to. but the day after the message is the same from the union. they want a raise which they say has not happened since about 2009. they are looking for job security protection and fair health coverage. >> we need job security. we need to keep our health insurance for these workers and we need a wage increase. gas has gone up, public transportation. parking here to come at the ballpark has gone up. >> reporter: we spoke with center plate. they say that the union who is not coming to the table in good cape and they say they've tried to bring the issue to the table and have can offered -- and have offered the union a fair contract. >> they've been trying to negotiation with local 2 to come to a contract agreement. what they have on the table does include a raise increase.

>> reporter: where do we stand right now? the union met last week with the employer but nothing came out of it. as fors the fans attending the game today, they basically will not see any effect as food and drink vendors are open. but the union says they will continue to pressure their employer for new contracts. we're live here in front of at&t park. i'm brian flores, ktvu channel 2 news. >> thank you. redwood city police announced the arrest of three burglary suspects in a mini crime spree. the three were arrested on june 13th after a traffic stop. police say the stolen goods in the car and their homes link them to a series of burglaries in palo alto, redwood city and in san mateo county, all on that same day. the three suspects were booked into the san mateo county jail for residential burglary and conspiracy. san jose police are just telling us about arrests made in the deadly stabbing of a 56-

year-old man. robert alvarez, cassandra race and a third person were arrested on saturday. the three are accused of stabbing the man several times on checkers drive. he later died at the hospital. police say the attack was gang- related. the suspects face murder charges. fire investigators are trying to determine the cause of an early-morning house fire in berkeley. it started at the home on the 2800 block of milvia street. investigators say the fire started in the basement and quickly spread all the away up to the attic. one woman called 911 when she first smelled smoke. she called 911 a second time when she turned on the lights to her home. >> the first time i didn't smell it as much as i did. i hadn't you turned the lights on. when i turned the lights on, then i saw it.

>> it took firefighters about an hour to get the fire under control. no one was injured. no estimate on the amount of damage. tension is higher today between pin nome officials and the -- pinole officials and the firefighters' union. the city turned down a federal grant last night to open the shuttered fire station. they cited associated costs and a pending unfair labor practices complaint by the union. the two have been engaged in a war of words with feisty exchanges between the union president and the mayor. san jose leaders are playing the role of firefighter in a training session called "fire ops 101." the fire department tweeted this photo. they are doning fire suits, doing a visibility search and using the jaws of life to rescue someone. firefighters want someone to

experience the sweat and stress that they experience every day. a lot of sunshine today across the entire bay area. the wind, still a factor in our forecast, we'll hold onto the breeze for this afternoon. here's our live camera looking out towards san francisco bay. san francisco out in the distance and typically this time of year we're talking about fog, at least in june. but that's not happening for today. in fact, you see clear skies up and down the shoreline. here is the satellite. the clouds are up to the north along the north coast, closer to cape mendocino. we have a lot of sunshine in the forecast for this afternoon. temperatures beginning to recover somewhat. we're talking about 70s out to santa rosa. downtown san francisco, 62. san jose in the upper 60s. latest on the wind speeds, not too much of a factor right now but by mid to late afternoon, the winds will pick up near the bay and the delta but the winds at this hour, nothing too extreme. sfo out of the west at 18 miles an hour and san jose wind out of the north at 15 miles an

hour. forecast headlines for today -- a lot of sunshine, thursday and friday will be warmer, the warmest weekend day will be on saturday and then we thicken up the clouds by mid to late afternoon. we'll cool off the temperatures. but as i mentioned today, we still have the pretty good onshore breeze with winds around 15, 20 miles an hour throughout the day. high pressure is strengthening offshore, it will build in over the next few days. you can see the end result. we warm things up for tomorrow, thursday, friday and saturday. so basically -- looking pretty good over the next few days. saturday will be the warmest day. temperatures inland on track to reach the upper 80s. as the system moves out, we cool things off by sunday. you will notice this -- clear skies. overnight the fog re-forms near the immediate coastline. this is thursday morning at 7:00 and then gradual clearing. some forecast models hinting at the possibility of some showers here in the bay area late sunday night and into monday

stocks falling just over an hour ago, the federal reserve gave a slightly more optimistic outlook for the u.s. economy which investors took as a hint that the economic stimulus program would be reduced. the dow is down 134. the nasdaq is down 24. s&p down 14. tesla is recalling some of its model s sedans. the electric carmaker says it's discovered an incorrectly mounted bracket on a rear seat latch. tesla says all of the affected cars were manufactured between may 10th and june 8th of this
