friendly. mayor ed lee reopened jefferson street. it now has twice as much sidewalk space as before for walking and biking. this is the first phase of a four block project along jefferson street. police asked for the public's help in solving the case of a homeless man. police say on june 9 he was assaulted under highway 87. he is still in the hospital and unable to speak. police are looking for the victim's family and friends and information about the attack. three bodies found burned in a stolen car and now a 72- year-old man is accused of killing them. firefighters discovered the bodies a week ago in a burning car. all three victims had been shot and the car had been stolen from sacramento. yesterday sheriff's deputies

arrested a local man, donald clark and he is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow. three police departments say they want the public to keep an eye out for a burglary suspect. he is suspected of committing burglaries. investigators say he lives in san francisco but has ties to the east bay. he should be considered dangerous. new at 5:00 p.m. a gas leak in pleasant hill after a contractor hit a gas pipeline this morning. that leak was capped and the road was opened before noon. it is not clear why the crew hit the line but part of the problem may have been imprecise information on where the pipeline was buried. ktvu's consumer editor tom vacar is live to see what pg&e is doing to come up where better records.
