the span, let's go back to the desk. we are topping our 6:00 hour with some breaking news, a fatal shooting in oakland and i want to take you live to the scene, it is a huge police response, that neighborhood is cordoned off with the police tape and this is a live picture with what is going on today. this is a street in oakland and we are told, there is a number of people standing nearby and we are not sure if they are possible witnesses to what happened and there is a number of people out on their balconies to see a very active scene and this is a street near international boulevard and we understand this is a fatal shooting and we have a crew out there and we will get more information as soon as we can. all right, new this morning, president barack obama

sal, it is going to be warm to inland over by the coast, temperatures will cool down and yesterday we had a lot of 60s and water temperatures and rain lines have moved way to the north. probably through next tuesday it is going to be hot and by the coast we are dealing with heat and we will have a huge change in temperatures and 80s and 90s inland and around the bay 70s and 80s but it will be toasty by the coast and we'll see a 30-to-40 degrees spread on those temperatures. humidity is way up, it is still high but not as high. if you have travel plans over

we are still following breaking news coming out of oakland. they are investigating a deadly shooting which happened hours ago. it happened on international boulevard. we don't have much information and we are told there is at least one shooting victim and we will bring you more information on this breaking story as we get it in. happening now, george zimmerman is about to continue in a florida courtroom. we want to take you there live, the trial is proceeding and that's the prosecution's star witness and she is once again back on the stand this morning. that is rachel gentile. she was on the phone with trayvon martin before he was shot and killed. george zimmerman, there is he in court, the neighborhood watch men are accused of following trayvon martin and he

kept saying a man is watching him. >> he said why are you following me for. he is saying what are you doing around here. >> witnesses also testified to hearing two men fighting and cries for help. prosecutors are trying to prove that the person calling for help was trayvon martin and the defense said it was george zimmerman and he killed trayvon martin himself. it will possibly go to a vote later today but it will not be easy to get it through the house. reports from the washington d.c. newsroom, they are promising their own plans. harry reid expect is the senate to pass immigration reform and they say house republicans may not pass it until the end of this year and

suspected of sexually abusing a child. it was completed two weeks ago and cost taxpayers $100,000 . members of the public say they should have access to it and some council members think it is a bad idea. a story about a couple was shot to get their water -- shocked to get their water bill in the mail. they were asked to pay more than $11,000 and that means they would have had to use enough water to fill 80 tanker trucks. >> i picked it up, put it back down, 440,000 gallons, whew! >> he complained about it and the city admitted it was a mistake and they blamed it on the meter reader. that $11,000 bill was canceled
