7:02 am
a short time ago. the b.a.r.t. trains have stopped moving and so have negotiations. there were no face-to-face contract talks yesterday and no new talks are scheduled today. however, negotiators for both camps are now holed up at an oakland hotel. it's possible talks could resume at any time. we have team coverage. tara moriarty will tell us how b.a.r.t. is trying to help passengers this morning but we begin with sal castanedo and the commute. especially the east bay, right? >> that's right. tori, it seems to be worse as you mentioned today coming in through all of the east bay. i want to show you all of the road sensors. you can see that there's quite a bit of red on the maps, especially if you are driving on 80. i want to push into 80 here. you can see the traffic in richmond is terrible. got a couple of tweets saying 80 is a mess and people are trying to use the richmond bridge to go to the golden gate bridge to avoid the bay bridge which, of course, is going to

7:07 am
riders haven't had a pay raise either in this economy. one san francisco owner says a strike caused many of her staff to come to work late or not show up at all. >> there are a lot of people out there out of work who would be very grateful for a job like that. >> we hate to do this. this is my second one. i didn't like it the second time. >> it's unfortunate that we have to suffer. >> now, striking b.a.r.t. workers say walking off the job was their last resort. 7:07. right now, police are investigating a double shooting in oakland. alex savidge is at the wing stop on lake park avenue where police are hoping surveillance video would lead them to the suspect gunning down two employees. >> reporter: homicide investigators are going over surveillance video, both from this wing stop restaurant where the shooting happened last night and also from some of the businesses nearby that have

7:09 am
by the increase in robberies. it's not just crime prevention but also community awareness and education. >> reporter: in response to this crime, a police spokesman told me a department would be holding two meetings with business owners. police have not set the times up yet for those meetings. police are also saying the two victims in this case, both men, both in their 20s and they both lived in richmond. alex savidge, ktvu channel 2 news. >> thank you. let's get you to where -- do our best to get you to where you need to go. sal, you're busy, you and the chopper. >> we have new buses about the buses. temperature those buses are -- those buses are filled to capacity. west oakland buses can still take people. but again, the buses are full. don't bother going to those

buses. you can go to oakland buses. you might want to think about casual carpooling, making other arrangements or going do west oakland where the buses are still available for you. let's take a look at the richmond bridge. a lot of people have been asking about this. can i use the richmond bridge into marin county and avoid the been? well, it doesn't look that bad. as you look at the richmond bridge, it has not been that bad into marin. remember, the golden gate bridge is also $6 heading down to the city. if that's what you want to do, i think it would probably be a decent alternate. there have not been that many people in marin county and the people in marin county have a little bit of room to share with you. i'm sure they will be generous with your freeways. let's take a look at the bay bridge toll plaza. this is what people are trying
