rescue said he was driving by the house on saturday. he noticed the place was on fire. with no hesitation, he went over and kicked in the front door of the home and understanded up saving the life of the map who was sleeping in one of the bedrooms. this photo shows the home exploding in flames moments after joe trapani pulled the man outside. he saw the huge fire and he knew he had to help. it was a split second decision. >> if i was thinking about it a lot, i wouldn't have done it. i reacted. firefighters told me he would have died if i didn't get him. joe doesn't speak english but he gave him a a handshake and a nod. >> he looked like he was glad to get out of there. very surprised. probably a rude awakening for him. >> his son said he is grateful.

>> of course, yes. >> you know. >> someone just try to go and save people. >> reporter: trapani, a former emt went back into the house a second time to make sure no one else needed help. they said his bravery was inspiring. >> that was a touching sight to see. such an act of heroism. >> reporter: they broke into applause. he simply said he saw someone in trouble and stepped up. >> it is a good feeling. people do this every day. firefighters do it every day. police do it every day. i don't really think i am a hero. >> reporter: the fir department believes this started from an engine in the car and there will be a full investigation. the family will have to find another place to live. but they are thankful one of the neighbors was driving by at the right time and decided to

and pried open the window there. and got in and stole 128 laptop and desktop computers. >> it is devastate something really. our students rely on those. devices to access the internet to do research and it has a tremendous impact on the quality of their education. principal contrier rah showed us how the cabinets were pried open. it is located on fleming avenue in the maxwell park neighborhood. and the thieves broke into the main school building and trashed the computer there. the loss is worth at least $35,000. the computers came with the help of grant money. the principal said the school does have an alarm system. but it is unlikely the school will be able to replace the computers any time soon. so the people most hurt by all this, the students.
