ahead. >> typical pattern. low clouds here in the bay. 60s, 70s, inland temps, some really rocket it up. 90s and stronger sea breeze today and slightly cooler here. not one, but two crashes on the east shore. these are reported westbound 80 at central. the others reported west 80 at cutting. one appears to be an on injury crash and other is an injury crash and could turn out to be the same thing. sometimes when people report things, one person may not have gotten it right. the other person may have. we try to decide, but if you watch out for slow traffic in this area that could cause the east shore freeway. looks good. former napa wrestling coach on child pornography. what we're finding out about the investigation that led to a raid on the man's home. >> reporter: he was a part-time

photographer and a wrestling coach. the most recent place he worked was at this high school. here he is. 43-year-old richard rachfal, also went by scott. facing charges for selling, sending, and possessing child pornography. napa police investigation determined he shared child porn on july 4th and 5th through a peer to peer site. is a part-time photographer with a web site called scott shot me photography. there's wedding and high school students and he's been commercial photographer for more than 14 years. found child porn on the home computer and say five years. he never took any child pornography videos or pictures. at high school in 2008 until february of this year and also

said he was the coach wrestling in st. halena's high school. i checked to see if he's in custody. it didn't say so at this time. napa police need your help because if you know anything about the investigation, the children are linked to this, give them a call. i'm paul chambers, ktvu, channel 2 news. time is 6:02. left the scene of the dangerous gas leak in alamo that's now been capped. now some of the neighbors say they were not properly warned. it all happened yesterday morning on danville boulevard near stone valley road. part of danville boulevard was closed for most of the day. left the scene within the last hour. they left yesterday. markings indicate safe places to dig weren't accurate. nearby homes and businesses had to be evacuated. one man said he signed up for

emergency texts for the neighborhoods, but didn't get one. >> if no one knows what's going on and people drive cars and things going on, sure, it's a huge issue. >> the county said it sent land line calls to a targeted area and people in alamo. other alerts sent countywide, people outside of alamo. county officials say they will be investigating. bizarre skipper is scheduled or the formally charged next month. u.s. coast guard arrested david mccormick in the waters near saucelito on sunday. u.s. law requires the public be informed about crimes committed aboard cruise ships. but a new report finds only a handful of creeps are made

public. coming up at 6:15, a breakdown of the types of crimes being committed on cruises. well, it's a new way to ride in the south bay and new competition for taxis. ktvu's janine de la vega with more on how much it costs. >> reporter: i spoke to another private car service company. he's wondering how much service it will bring. yabber just launched in silicon valley. roughly cheaper than taxi prices. now, those who need a ride can request the car or by using a mobile app on their phone to get anywhere from san jose, palo alto to san francisco.

while uber uses pricier town cars, there's a mid range. it takes away a share of customers. it's for those who want a cheaper alternative to taxis. show you some prices here. some south bay prices for uber, $60 and sunnyvale, palo alto to mountain view costs $25. and back out here live, i was able to briefly talk to a taxi driver off camera. he didn't realize this company was doing service here without town cars because that's what they were using before and now again use mid range cars. he said he is concerned about how much business it will take

to alert public about the crime aboard the ships. kai la campbell in washington why passengers are not getting real numbers. kaila? >> reporter: they only require those no longer under investigation by the fbi and only have to report specific types of crimes but the sbi gets the full scoop. let's look at the crimes committed during 2011 and 2012. the fbi investigated three deaths. seven missing u.s. passengers. 13 assaults with serious injuries. 71 sexual assaults and more than 800 other crimes. the commerce committee said the cruise line industry less than what was shared with the public. the incident is small considering the large number of passengers. commerce committee found a discrepancy with how minors are

welcome back to the ktvu channel 2 morning news. 6:21. this morning t fresno county sheriff's office will resume search for four missing hikers. deputies say the four women used a cell phone to contact authorities tuesday night. they said they got lost in sierra due to smoke. no word on names or where

they're from. there's a bizarre tragedy involving two hikers. in may, they were able to rescue pregnant woman and friend who were lost but the women died a short time later after the rescue when the accidentally drove their car off a boat ramp into the ocean. the time is 6:21. oakland family forced to sell home because of high medical bills from overseas accident. maya was in italy to perform with the young women's chorus of san francisco. she was? hotel room when she fell through the hotel skylight. >> thought that outside was a balcony but turned out to be a skylight and i fell through it. >> i got the call no parent wants which said your child has been severely injured. >> maya has serious injuries including three fractures to her pelvis. she spent three weeks in an italian hospital and the family had to pay $48,000 to fly her

derail in northern spain. already 77 people are known to be dead. 141 more were hurt. that train was the high speed train that jump the tracks of the city of santiago de compostela. it went around a curve and then derailed. it's the deadliest train accident in spain since 1972. crews try to put out big fire in coast of indiana. it's following a big explosion and fire following tuesday night. all 44 were evacuated before the fire broke out. natural gas is leaking but not expected, we're told, to have a big effect on the economy. former high school wrestling coach was arrested

for a child pornography. ktvu channel 2 reporter paul chambers in napa this morning to explain the charges the man faces and the schools where he worked. paul? >> reporter: good morning, pam. according to napa police, he was a wrestling coach in several schools here in napa county and also a part time photographer. we can fake a look here at his picture. he's 43-year-old rachfal who went by scott. he was arrested by napa police tuesday morning at his home and faces charges for selling, sending, and possessing child pornography. a napa police investigation determined rachfal shared child porn on july 4th and 5th this year through a peer to peer site. is a part-time photographer with a web site called scott shot me photography. it's pictures of high school students and has been commercial photographer for more than 14 years.

behind in plans. the current extended contract expires august 4th. brought in during the last strike failed to keep up with demand and caused huge traffic delays. i spoke with one commuter who rented a car during the strike earlier this month that sent around 300 dollars frustrated with bart's ability. >> i can't rely on bart and i have to be here so early that it's difficult to catch the bus here. >> reporter: will likely bring in charter buses again if there's a strike. we learn how many and what locations will leaf from. one board member estimated it would take 8,000 buses to match the capacity that bart handles daily. coming up in the next five report, why commuters say the bart union workers should not be allowed to strike and i'll explain what it would take legally to prohibit a strike.

sienna high school in napa until february of this year. also this morning, we get details on what may have caused a passenger train to derail in spain. 77 people were killed. 141 were hurt. that train jumped the tracks near the town of santiago de compostela. the secretary of state said the train may have gone too fast and then derailed. back home, police trying to figure out who shot and killed a beloved pet nanny in the east bay. she was driving near her home and someone opened fire. standing by in oakland right now, tell us what we know about the victim and what happened during that attack. brian? >> reporter: well, dave, the police do say there are a couple of things that may aid in their investigation but it will take time to process on that and in the meantime though, as you can see, some people have flowers and candles here as residents and family

members shocked at what happened. neighbors identified the victim as the 66-year-old judy solomon. neighbors say she was well known if the neighborhood. constantly seen walking around here as the dog sitter. just before 1:30 yesterday afternoon. she was in her gray subaru just a few blocks from her home when somebody opened fire. solomon's car was hit and then rolled backwards hitting another parked car. nobody was injured and no other houses or cars were hit. as reported, solomon lived alone with pets and well-liked in the neighborhood. one man came by the memorial this morning and shared his thoughts. >> generally, i feel safe that this person being so innocent in broad daylight, 1:24 in the afternoon. i don't know. shouldn't be the case for anyone. >> reporter: the silver lining in all of this is two people

looking at this. first, beer bottles left at the scene. they may have clues on who the shooter was or perhaps the firsthand witness. because the shooting happened at nearby cemetery known to have cases of legal dumping, o.p.d. said they'll look at footage to see if there's information out there. back out here live and again, neighbors and residents shocked at what happened. judy was also interested at forming a neighborhood watch program because she was concerned about the safety here in the neighborhood. we'll have much more on morning 2. ktvu, channel 2 news. 82 retired methodist pastors say they'll defy the church and perform same-sex marriages. they gathered and announced they would defie church doctrine and marry gay couples if active pastors decline. >> we refuse to treat some people as interior and second class children of god v.
