police arrested christopher porter-bailey as the man seen kicking a female robbery victim in the head. it took part last month. >> we need more street lighting. nobody is out walking. >> reporter: they have seen a series of armed robberies and assaults last month. residents feel targeted by criminals. a public safety forum is set for tonight. not far from where they were shoved to the ground and robbed -- ground and robbed earlier this month. >> he told me to give me the wedding ring. >> reporter: he said more police are needed on the streets but he is glad there has been an arrest in this case. >> anytime we have that kind of crime and we catch someone it is a huge relief.

killed his 8-year-old sister. they hired a private investigator to find that person and attorneys say it produced a mountain of evidence and the court granted them more time before a court date is set. >> we want to get this case to trial as soon as possible. i don't know when. i would love it to be this year. >> the boy's family attended the hearing and left without saying anything. the hearing was continued till september 18. two men accused of holding a girl captive and using her as a sex slave appeared in court today. the judge assigned attorneys for the two. the two are charged with conspiring to grow and distribute marijuana and using a minor in a illegal drug operation. they forced a 15-year-old girl

the war in afghanistan is taking a toll on civilians as their troops take charge of security. the united nations said the number of civilians killed by bombs has returned to 2011 levels. a growing number of the victims are women and children and calling for greater efforts to protect civilians. the report comes after forces plan to exit afghanistan. >> the number of civilians killed rose by 23%. compared to last year. >> officials are working on a security agreement with afghanistan so it is not clear how many troops will remain past the end of next year but the number is expected to be below the current level. why transportation security -- transportation security
