-- extension the possibility of another strike. ktvu's cara liu has more. >> reporter: a spokesperson believes a strike can and should be avoided. union leaders told us they were still bargaining. negotiations started around 9:00 a.m. this morning here in oakland. leaders told us things were going well till the chief negotiator came back to town. bart acknowledged they needed to make changes but says workers need to contribute to the cost of their healthcare. meanwhile thousands of commuters are awaiting the outcome. >> i am very stressed out. makes me angry too. >> not nice. not very nice because lot of people need to survive. to do like that is killing everybody. >> the possibility of another bart strike is increasing anxiety for lot of commuters.

talking with witnesses. he joins us live again. eric? >> reporter: a woman said she could feel the explosion a few floors up but there is no evidence this was a bomb. a neighbor reported cell phone video of a bomb squad robot checking out a fedex truck in this alley. the driver called 911 when he heard and felt a blast from the back of his truck around 2:00 p.m. police and firefighters diverted traffic but they found nothing and now suspect someone through a fire cracker. one man heard a similar blast on monday. >> sounded like it came from the other side of the street. >> reporter: what did you think today? >> same thing.

women on july 12. the owner was seriously hurt. prosecutors say he attacked the employees because he thought he was over charged. goodwill warehouse remains shut down after bedbugs were found earlier this week. today a special bedbug dog found no traces of the pests. they say they probably came from donated items. one woman was planning to shop when she saw it was closed. >> i heard there could be bedbugs bedbugs and people are investigating and i am not going to risk it. >> goodwill had to trash much of its stock. the charity is looking for financial donations to cover the loss. it was out with the old to make way for the new. parts of an old shopper center

the zodiac killer terrorized the bay area. new at 6:00 p.m. investigators in lake tahoe think the zodiac killer who has never been identified may be linked to a decade's old case there. >> reporter: why did south lake tahoe nurse disappear and was she the 12th victim of the zodiac killer? >> it captures one's imagination. it was such an intriguing case. >> reporter: she signed the work log book inside at 1:50 a.m. in the morning. after she left here she was never seen or heard from again.

43 years and finders of evidence later, investigators aren't convinced how or if she died. >> we don't know. >> reporter: here is the twist. 6th month after her disappearance. they received this post card. investigators believe it was sent by the zodiac killer. last was his 12th victim and she was buried in the sierra. a possibility that hasn't been discounted or led to the case being solved. >> stranger things happened. we have seen it with jaycee dugard too. we never give up hope. >> reporter: one investigator told me his hunch is the zodiac killer is not linked however he admits he doesn't have any evidence to prove that. san francisco police said today they have made an arrest

in a shocking attack during gay pride vehicle. investigators say christopher porter-bailey pleaded not guilty to the assault on june 30. police believe she the man seen kicking a woman in the head during a robbery captured on surveillance video. police say the victim has now recovered. >> vicious crime. you know, people that saw this video were absolutely disgusted with what they saw. >> some people who leave near the neighborhood said crime is on the rise there. a forum is scheduled in 15 minutes. the case of a teacher accused of lewd acts with his students has gone to the jury. attorneys delivered their closing arguments today. he was a teacher in east san jose. he was arrested in january of

last year. frustration in the east bay as oakland's police department struggles to solve three sad crimes. at the same time the city is still reeling from violent protests. ktvu's john sasaki is live with word on what is being dune keep the city -- done to keep the city safer. >> reporter: as they propair for another -- prepare for another protest tomorrow they are still contending with three unsolved crimes. first the case of a missing baby who was reported missing three weeks ago. they have been searching for her ever since. next is the killing of a girl two weeks ago today. she was killed by someone who knocked on the door and opened fire and a 66-year-old was shot and killed last week as she was shot and killed.

but the strange thing is training, gettin, nobody's really getting in shape for anything. the only reason that you're getting in shape is that so you can get through the workout. so we're working out so that we'll be in shape for when we have to do our exercise. this is the whole thing. the other thing i don't get is why we're so careful about locking up our dirty towels and smelly jockstraps. i got a lock you could put a bullet through, and it won't open. that stuff is safe.
