ago. both of them said they were shocked and disgusted by today's double homicide. >> absolutely unacceptable that we have children being shot while they sleep in their bed. >> we are putting out as many resources as we have to, in these neighborhoods. >> reporter: the two spoke in east oakland, where they listened to concerns of the youth about violence in the neighborhood. and from here, it's just about a five-minute drive from where that father and his baby were shot and killed. >> it's crazy. shouldn't no baby deserve to die. >> reporter: the crime scene tape went up. the investigation soon got underway. the time was just about 2:45 this morning. >> that's my family. i love him. he was a good guy, only 20 years old. i don't know what happened. >> reporter: one family member of the victims took us into the back bedroom, where sleeping next to each other were 20-year- old andrew thomas and his one- year-old son, drew jackson. police say a gunman snuck no
