from the peninsula. skyline community college is on lock down because of a suspicious person. police are searching the idcampus building by building -- the campus building by building. someone was spotted with a potential weapon. that person was seen in a hiking area near the college. the college just updated an announcement, it states the campus is closed as of 5:40 p.m. tonight and classes are canceled tonight. hours ago san jose police announced a arrest in the shooting death of a student. she was shot saturday morning while riding in a car in san jose. police say an experienced officer was on patrol in san jose last night and spotted a man who was believed to have been at the scene. police pulled him over and arrested him after finding a loaded gun. police don't know what role he played but he was not the in--

she was not the intended target. >> the fact that she was just an occupy in a vehicle and one minute she is there, next minute she is gone. tough to come to grips with. >> police haven't said if they are looking for more suspects but they will go wherever the investigation takes them. within the past hour san francisco police arrested several union protesters outside a hotel. protesters say workers have been trying to unionize for five years. no word on how many people were arrested. a banker today pleaded guilty to stealing $2 million from her clients, many who are elderly. she was a former branch manager at a u.s. bank and president of montclair village association. she was charged with bilking 2

dozen people out of $2 million. a judge can -- a judge is expected to sentence her 12 years and pay restitution to the victims. investigators are on the scene of a police shooting that killed a man. when it was over police found a second body. ktvu's robert handa has been on the scene all day now. he is live with why officers responded in the first place. robert? >> reporter: the coroner's office is now on the scene and as you see public safety is also still here trying to come up with answers that led to the murder and an officer involved shooting. public safety extended a huge fire latter over the house taking pictures of the crime scene where police slot and killed a man during a

happening now, fire crews are sending resources to riverside county to help battle a wildfire. the fire started yesterday afternoon. officials say 15 structures have burned. 3 people injured, including 2 firefighters. 11,000 acres burned, 1500 people have been forced from their homes. the results are in for california's star testing and scores for students are down for the first time in several years. ktvu's ken pritchett has the explanation from officials and also why this standardized testing is on its way out.

>> reporter: they are on a road trip, tourists before back to school. how she is taught will change. >> really different. i think that is a good thing. for the last 15 years kids have been taking the star test, standardized testing and reporting. today officials said 2013 scores were down but said also the star test is an old test. >> a new focus in learning. more on critical thinking. >> reporter: instead of a pencil students will use a computer. this is a sample of the field test. it will be rolled out next year to replace the star test. students like the idea. >> i feel like it is more easier using technology than, you know, circling circles. >> reporter: parents like the style of teaching. >> i think a lot of, you know,
