there is santa rosa 49. 37 up in tahoe. i will tell you i know somebody who lives in truckee once august hits that temperature starts to dip. 60 in sacramento. 80s down on the desert. system right there will begin to cool us down. it's already beginning to pick up that fog. 90s for these temps. 70s for some. 60s and 70s. 80s and 90s away. temperatures will they be the same tomorrow? start our cooling trend then. here is sal. the livermore valley once again is a mess. we had an earlier crash. we had a couple minor crashes. the crash is gone but the damage is done on 580 if you drive from tracy to livermore. the yellow indicator is where the accident was blocking lanes for about the better part of the last half hour. and you can see traffic is still very heavy. now this might be kind of

something for you to consider. if you get on the road let's say west of livermore. if you get on the road in dublin there is a big artificial barrier holding people back. you might want to get ahead of the crowd and take advantage. that crash has been cleared soon. the entire valley will be filled with people that are running behind. let me move the maps a little bit before we move on. 880 from hayward to fremont looks good. a couple of crashes in san jose. most serious one is northbound 101. in the backup northbound 101 at story road we have a report of a noninjury crash. let's go to interstate 880. live picture here shows traffic off to a good start here. no trouble at the bay bridge toll plaza. although the metering lights are on and there is a backup stretching to the 880 over crossing. let's go back to the desk. 6:03. the latest on the breaking news coming in from alabama. two hours ago a ups carbo plane

crashed. look at the pictures on your screen. local reports are saying the pilot and co-pilot were killed. there is a website that track flights it says four minutes before that crash the plane plummeted more than 9,000 feet within two minutes. the cargo plane crashed into an open field. there is no word that anyone on the ground was injured. again this is breaking news coming in from alabama. we are keeping an eye on this story. we will bring you the latest information as we get them coming in. we're also continuing to follow that developing news near san lorenzo where a man was shot to death early this morning. claudine wong joins us with what deputies are saying about the victim and their investigation. claudine. >> reporter: good morning, pam. within the last hour we have seen the crime scene technicians arrive on scene. there is a couple of vans down there as they continue to investigate this. they expect to be out here processing the scene for the next couple of hours.

police started getting calls just after midnight about multiple shots being fired. they got on scene and found a 33-year-old man outside suffering from gunshot wounds. paramedics tried to save him but he was pronounced dead at the scene. >> he's about 33 years old. >> reporter: does he live if this neighborhood? >> he does not live if this neighborhood. >> it's unclear what he was doing here. >> reporter: residents of the neighborhood trying to figure out exactly what happened. we saw three men trying to get back to their cars after working overnight only to find their cars in the taped off area. >> they are like it's a shootout. they said go eat somewhere or come back later. we really can't come back later. we're trying to get home. >> reporter: you are just going to sit out here and wait until they let you no. >> most likely. >> reporter: they were eventually let back into the

area around 4:30 this morning where they were able to go back to their cars and homes. this is the 1800 block of rob scott way. just west of ginger avenue. this -- last thing we heard it could be a couple more hours before they open it back up. claudine wong ktvu channel 2 news. investigators in east palo alto believe a domestic dispute took the life of a beloved member in the community. police say they discovered the killing an unusual way. the suspect was arrested on drunk driving charges. investigators say he told them he she was the bay beof the and

out of cairo this morning. egyptian security forces bulldozing through two separate camps. they used tear gas and fired weapons at supporters of ex- president mohammed morsi. 28 were killed in cairo. another 25 were killed south of the capitol. but the muslim brotherhood claims at least 200 demonstrators are dead. just last week senators john mccain and lindsey graham visited the country. they are pushing both sides to come together for peace talks. i contacted the state department and we also spoke with my contact at the white house this morning to get reaction. we are still waiting for their response. but i will have the very latest developments on the deadly clashes for you when i see you at 7:15. live in washington kyla campbell ktvu channel 2 news. time is 6:16. baby monitors are supposed to help parents keep a close eye on their kids. but a mom and dad said a baby

welcome back to the ktvu channel 2 morning news. time is 6:24. this morning a wild fire has burned a dozen homes near a mountain resort in utah and threaten 250 others. the rock port fire about ten miles northeast of park city is just 5% contained at this point. it has burned 4,000 acres. hundreds of homeowners had just a few minutes to gather they belonging before evacuating. >> we were able to get in and get the most important things our pets and some documents. and so just didn't have too much time. but to get out. >> firefighters say that fire was sparked by lightning. time is 6:25. a hostage standoff at a louisiana bank ended with both a hostage and the gunman dead. investigators say the 20-year- old suspect had no intention of robbing the bank. they say he went into the bank yesterday, he did have a gun, and he took three captives. he later freed a female bank

teller but just before midnight as a swat teams are moving in, he shot two is national rail safety month. some northern california roller derby teams want your blood. they say it's all for a good

lorenzo. a man was shot to death during the night. claudine wong is in unincorporated san loren sew. they are still investigating that shooting. >> reporter: this investigation still under way this morning as you can see investigators leavingth taped off area. if we come back down the street you can see if we push all the way down there is still a few vehicles. that is the area they are focused on where the shooting happened. crime scene techs are out here. they have been out here for the last 90 minutes or so. i also want to show you video we -- it's un-- think is a pea 3e-year-old latino man. people started calling 911 just after midnight. paramedics did what they could, but could not save the victim's

joseph naso. 79-year-old naso is representing himself. he's accused of killing four women in the 1970s and 1990s. a doctor is recovering after being choked by a prison inmate. the department of corrections says it happened on monday during a medical. the inmate grabbed the doctor by her hair and started choking her. the doctor activated a personal alarm device. other staffers grabbed the inmate. they say he had a weapon made from razor blades. 90 minutes from right now a group of striking workers in hayward plan to be calling out city leaders. they say they are being ignored despite they say they have given back millions of dollars in wages. ktvu tara moriarty is in hayward. this is day two of this three- day walk out. >> reporter: these workers are here already and they are

starting the chant and walking around here in front of city hall. we just received word from union reps they will be issues a challenge to the mayor, city manager, and other. these workers are among the 280 public workers picketing to protest the proposed labor contract. work eres asked for a 5 -- workers asked for a 5% raise increase but the city wants to ax raises and have them contribute more to their pension. >> this would cost me $400 a month which to a family of five is a lot of money. >> we ask they forego raises for five years. >> city fishes at if -- union

channel 2 morning news. we want to get you up to date on breaking news. a cargo plane went down killing the pilot and co-pilot. brian flores joins us from our newsroom. >> the ntsb just held a brief conference a moment ago. they are sending an investigative team as we speak to alabama. they are expected to arrive there around 8:00 a.m. our time. they also say the local authorities will handle the pilot's deaths but they are hopeful they will recover the black boxes. they were on their way from louisville to birmingham, alabama when it crashed halfway from the runway. now the crash happened before dawn this morning and many residents report hearing two loud explosions when the plane hit. it's still unknown what cargo was in the plane at the time.

the plane landed in an open field and no structures were effected only power was caught off to 140 residents in the area as a precaution. according to the website flightaware.com says this trip was only 45-50 minutes in length and the plane went through the same route yesterday. ups has also released a statement about the incident it says the incident is very unfortunate and our thoughts and prayers are with those involved. we will immediately ebb gauge with the national information safety board investigation and we will work exhaustively on response efforts. that is from mitch nichols. of course we will keep you updated throughout the morning. brian flores ktvu channel 2 news. san francisco police are looking for more suspects in the connection to the city's largest drug busts ever. investigator found a stash of more than 30,000 pills and
