off 880. i want to show you the scene from news chopper 2. it was 4:15 this afternoon. the boy's mother works at a fruit stand you can probably see in the parking lot. this is a parking lot outside of a vacant building. she sells fruit there. her son was playing nearby in the parking lot when a man driving a pickup truck accidentally hit him. that driver remained at the scene after the crash and he's been cooperative with investigators. police say it doesn't appear the driver was going very fast. >> it's a situation where the boy was playing, appears the driver was in the parking lot with his vehicle and at this point it appears that the driver just an unfortunate accident. >> ran over the little boy.
