ktvu's alex savage is live at the double tree hotel with the search for the attackers. >> good morning, police say this was a scary attack for this woman. she's a housekeeper here at the double tree hotel. she was sexually assaulted at knife-point while she was cleaning one of the first floor rooms that has a patio adjacent to the parking lot. she was out on the patio, according to police mr. when a man came up from behind, grabbed her, put a knife to her throat and forced her back into the room. this happened at 3:45 in the afternoon as she was cleaning this room. police say the attacker tied up the 37-year-old woman and began to sexually assault her. the housekeeper imaginaged to fight the man off, screamed for help and that's when the attacker ran off. now, some hotel guests told me this morning they did hear about this assault, but one man was surprised when i told him what happened. >> that's a little disturbing.

hotel worker. the woman managed to escape, but police are searching for the person responsible. ktvu's alex savage is live with more on what police are saying. >> >> a disturbing crime for many hotel guests as a woman, a housekeeper is sexually assaulted at knife-point cording to police and it happened while she was on the job. yesterday at 3:45 here at the double tree hotel, the housekeeper was cleaning one of the first floor rooms that looks out onto the parking lot area. she was actually out on the patio at the time this happened. the man came up and grabbed her from behind, then put a knife to her throat and forced her back inside of the room. police say the attacker then tied up this 37-year-old woman and began to sexually assault her. eventually, the housekeeper managed to fight the man off and scream for help. that's when the attacker ran off through the parking lot area and off the hotel

property. police are trying to pull surveillance video from the hotel and neighboring businesses they hope might show the attacker. some hotel guests said they have heard about this. >> it makes us a little more careful. we'll lock the doors when we are here at night and yeah, be a lot more careful. >> and this is the description of that attacker that was given to police by the victim in this case. he is described as a black man in his 30s. 5'10 inches tall with a distinctive tattoo of cursive writing on the side of his neck. during yesterday's attack, the man was wearing a white button down shirt with black pants and he had on gloves. i left a message with the hotel

"chopper 2" flew over the area. officers were on their way to stop a dui checkpoint. investigators say the driver off an s.u.v. turned left into the path of the two motorcycles. >> they were bleeding. they had bloody -- one had a bloody face. bloody arms. >> and then i walked up and looked at the motorcycles down and i'm like holy mcroll, you are lucky, very, very lucky. >> police say the driver of the s.u.v. was sober and cooperative. she was question a and allowed to brave away. chp is looking into whether the driver was distracted by her cell phone or a gps device.

a separate crash seriously injuried a woman who reportedly works for the freemont police department. investigators say the 29-year- old was on a motorcycle riding down freemont boulevard just before 4:00 yesterday afternoon when she hit a pickup truck and then a patrol car. according to the tribune, she is a police civilian employee who has been with the department for the past 18 months. a viewer sent us this photo of the accident scene. the woman was the only one involved in the incident, but she is expected to recover. >> >> new this morning, antioch police say speed was a major factor in a crash that left one western dead and another one critically injured. it happened on sterling hill drive. police believe both men were
