101 and caesar chavez is where this fire broke. it broke out around 1:30 this morning. two engines responded and crews were able to snap up the flames with in 15 minutes. we're very close to hospital curve and it's a very dangerous bend in the roadway. chp had to shut down the freeway while firefighters got the flames under control. that person was later released. however, an arson was called to the scene. probably under an information, it came in as a small grass fire. it was probably about ten yards, you know, by ten yards. and then it caught a couple trees on fire >> no one was hurt in this fire. the chp was allowing traffic by 2:30 this morning.

witnesses. starbucks is changing its gun policy in stores. they're asking gun owners not to bring their guns inside. that's a reversal unlike many restaurants. starbucks said it would go by local laws being carried in plane sight. it helps gun owners will go along with the new policy, but it will still serve in people who bring in guns. outside city hall over contract negotiations with city. the workers have been without a contract since april, and in july, city leaders declared an impass and stopped negotiations. hayward's assistant city manager says the city needs to forego raises but the workers say they've given up $7 million during the last four years. happening today, contract talks in the bart labor dispute are set to resume at 9:00

the fire destroyed 68 businesses in two towns. investigators now confirm the fire was sparked from an old electrical system damaged from last year's super storm sandy. there is concern there could be damaged wiring on other board walks. authorities are urging business owners to have inspections done on properties. investigators are looking into the possibility a fire in shasta county may have been deliberately set. at least two ignition points for the fire were found. a 56-year-old man died in the fire. the flames also destroyed 68 homes and burned 12 square miles >> the chp is still investigating the series of events that led up to a deadly crash on interstate 880 in oakland. early sunday morning, 35-year-old jose curiel was riding his motorcycle.
