>> there's a specific reason they are in boston. the last time we checked in with charles trippy, he had recently had surgery to remove a tumor from his brain. now that surgery was successful but according to doctors, they did leave a small sliver of that tumor in his brain. as a result he started having seizures again and charles now needs a second brain surgery. >> and they're going to keep me awake so when they're digging they don't screw something up. >> you make it sound like they're going to go in with a pick ax and a shovel. >> we see him getting prepped for surgery, all the while maintaining an attitude that is remarkable. >> get the stupid brain slug out of my stupid head and kick it to

the curb and stomp on it and run it over with steam roller. >> i wonder if they'll have him actively tweet while his brain is open. >> they will let him have the cameras during surgery. >> his wife said the surgery was a complete success and that he is able to move his left arm and that was a concern. she said he's cracking jokes with the staff and being his goofy self. >> what you doing? >> what you're seeing here is not some new fangled mud bath. it's a chinese woman stuck in the mud. get this, she got stuck overnight down there. she was walking along a riverbank.

she slipped and fell and had to spend the night there. fortunately she's able to keep her face and head before the surface there. somebody passing through noticed her the next day. that's when they were able to send firefighters and police officers out there to rescue her. you can see them wrapping ropes around her. you see this guy in the green pants. he's all the way up to his calf. they rope her up, lasso her up and get her out of there. whentrethe mud. i imagine it's one of those things where you struggle and you get tired and dig down deeper. >> you never know what you're going to catch on video. i have two of them that are pretty wild. we found this video on wplg. you see man leaning over the

newspaper rack. another customer walks in and that guy goes to walk out the door but turns around and grabs the gold chain the man reading the newspaper was wearing. amazingly the guy's gold chain didn't break. >> somebody tries to rip the jewelry right off your own neck? i wonder if that means it wasn't real gold? >> no, that means it was solid. there's actually a picture whatever it cost. >> it was worth its weight in gold. >> there is a shot in the parking lot. you see the man run to his car and drive away. you see some chasing after him. he did get away. >> this is in brevard county and on the indian river. it looks like it's a rescue, right? no. this guy is a suspected burglar

news chopper two over breaking news. someone is shot as an vision turns into a shooting. >> sewage is leaguing into -- leaking into the dugout. the curveball the a's players are facing as they continue in the playoff hunt. >> a ride home turns into a horrifying event. good evening. breaking news in the east bay. authorities have surrounded a gated community. we're there with late information. >> reporter: i just spoke with

a representative s.w.a.t. teams are in place and negotiation teams are in place trying to speak with the gunman. this is as far as we can go. we've done a virtual walk with the gps up the hill, we're two blocks away walk up the hill two blocks and look to the right. that's where the home is. police are keeping us back, the man is armed and has fired one shot. deputies were on scene to serve an eviction on the home. when they received no answer they asked a lock smith to remove the lock. that's when a shot was fired from in the home. hitting the lock smith in the leg. the deputies did not return fire they backed away from the home and called for reenforcement. the information is that the person is still in there.

he's hunkered down, they are trying to establish communication. some neighbors were asked to leave their home for safety sake. others are asked to stay up doors. others are reporting to see dozens of cops. this happened when deputy arrived on scene to serve an eviction notice. the home was being foreclosed. one shot was fired through the door. police believe the individual that fired that shot is still indoors. we'll bring you updates throughout the evening.
