it broke out before 8:00 a.m. and took two hours to get undercontrol. fireworks were heard in the area but there is no evidence fireworks caused the fire. emergency crews were able to remove a liquid propane tanker that over turned. it was one of two on a tandem trailer. it over turned at 3:00 a.m. this morning as the driver was turning. the tanker had just been filled. a small leak was patched. earlier gas leaking from the hull was vaporizes and a hotel had to be evacuated. >> we evacuated the hotel, that the what we felt was the most important. >> the chp is investigating the cause of the crash. san jose state university is checking to make sure they don't have a problem with rats on campus after a rat tried to

shut down after a pg&e worker expressed concerns. ktvu's rob roth has been talking with pg&eking leaders and city leaders about the safety of the line and rob is here with us. rob? >> reporter: pg&e says it has taken the gas line out of service but residents want pg&e to do much, much more. >> reporter: under a court order pg&e reduced the pressure on the line by 2/3. >> if that is what they did, great. but i think the community and the city, everybody needs more information than just saying we relieved the pressure, that is fine. tough to live with that. >> reporter: the line came under concern when officials read e-mails from a pg&e

engineer stating i have concerns about this pipe, are we sitting on a san bruno situation, on friday they declared state of emergency and got a court order demanding pg&e shut down the line. >> we have isolated the line and it is not in active service. >> reporter: but officials aren't convinced. they asked for records about the line and haven't heard back. >> how much information do they have optheir -- on their own pipe? >> the concern is a repeat of this, the san bruno pipeline explosion three years with ago. eight people died. dozens of homes destroyed. >> we commissioned a report earlier this year that inspected this pipeline. we know it is operating safely. >> reporter: he isn't buying it. >> our corts are telling them to turn -- courts are telling them to turn it off. they are saying they don't need to. you know, sounds sketchy to me.
