eventu eventually you see him start to slow down. that's because officers have put down stop sticks. pulls a u-y. and then he starts going in residential areas. watch, he pulls right past them. one officers tries to back up. he almost hits that guy but he keeps going. cops continue chasing. you hear officers radioing in exactly where he is and eventually, an officer with another set of stop sticks. >> now the on-foot method. >> exactly. >> equally as unsuccessful.

>> and how far into the woods did he get, beth? >> he did not get that far. police were able to get him and the 36-year-old was arrested. he faces severity charges, includingry recysting police. >> this professional free skier was shooting this commercial for ford, but the camera crews captured an endorsement for something completely different. watch this. they had been scouting the locations for days, figured that everything was fine, they had some fresh snow early that morning. you see imar climbing to the peak of this mountain, getting ready to go down. here he goes. soon after he drops in, he notices the entire mountain start to break away. and before you know it, he's right in the middle of a full-blown mountain avalanche. >> that's huge! >> it is huge. >> can't ski out of that one.

>> he tries. you see him trying to keep his ski tips up. you see that ledge there. he's on his feet but once he reaches that short ledge, that's where it completely knocks him down and he goes tumbling the crew in the air capturing the entire event as it unfolds. ski poles, everything goes flying, he's cart wheeling down. the whole mountainside erupts. >> he's ungulfed. is he wearing the right equipment? >> you better. he's wearing an abs air bag. the system has two, one on either side. it's a big back pack system. he was able to pull the rip cord as he was tumbling down the mountain. he believes that's what saved his life. he got out of this with barely a few scratches. >> unbelievable, to watch it

work in an avalanche look that. he looks completely buried and then to see him on top of it all, unbelievable. >> if you blink, you'll truly miss what happens. in new orleans, the man is walking up the sidewalk, handling keys, gets to the door and tries to open it. quickly someone else is running to catch up to this man. when he turns around to open the door, this man very quickly pickpockets him and takes his wallet, takes off running down the street. the man tried to chase after this guy but he still got away. >> how do you not hear somebody running down the street from you? >> people run down the street at all times. it only took within send to get his wallet. >> look behind you once in a while. >> this other video is from

i recently brought you this video. this footage incredibly difficult to watch. you hear the screams of a man. >> i have one of the craziest updates we've ever had on the show. >> police have released the footage. can you see the alleged arsonist douse the area with gasoline and you see the explosion. this shop owner trapped in the rubble, officers with no protection went in to help rescue this man. >> is this the shop owner who set this fire? >> yes. >> oh, gosh. >> that is the crazy part. the man trapped in the rubble is

the same man who started the fire and police did identify this man man as the 36-year-old shop owner. he's the one who created the fire. the headlights in the left-hand corner, that was the police officer. he walked away so he wouldn't be identified. and in those few moments, the vapors escaped owe whso when he back, it was basically a vapor bomb. he's been charged. >> was he just tired of getting up for the bread delivery at 3:00 in the morning? >> that's the other crazy part. his family said he was up at the store waiting for the bread delivery. that isn't true. he was only there with the intent to start this fire. >> innocent people risked their own lives to save this guy and he's the one who set fire in the first place. >> it's even more chilling to go back and look at the video
