bargaining table. they're wondering if come monday morning they'll need to find another way to get to work. the deadline to avoid a strike is midnight tomorrow, 11 p.m., both bart and the unions are under pressure from the public and politicians to get a deal done when bart workers went on strike for four days. last night's bargaining session wrapped up at 10:00. the general manager met with union leaders all day yesterday. we were told she'll be at this morning's meeting and her presence is helping it along. >> they're telling us their concerns. it's been positive. >> we're bargaining and it's something both sides have wanted. i think the next day or so will tell. the good news is there's serious discussion and real bargaining going on. >> bart and its union workers

temperatures will be slightly warmer in some areas. this will make a similar trek to what we've seen recently. this will not bring us any rain. we could see a few showers into the sierra, if this is your plan for the weekend. outside of that we're looking at mostly sunny skies and temperatures on the mild side, below average for this time of year. 65 sausalito, the temperatures are like yesterday. 65 in oakland, 75 for pleasant ton and livermore. you're looking at 71 san jose. 70 degrees for sunnyvale, 69 san mateo and 64 stand fran. your extended forecast for your weekend in view. notice we begin with more of a warming trend as we get into the second half of the weekend and it lasts into midweek wednesday with temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s.

[ singing ] last night a vigil was held to honor the toddler's life. the boy was allegedly beaten to death by his mother's boyfriend. they're considering new charges against the suspect, casey reports. >> reporter: a two-year-old boy reportedly a son of running back adrian peterson has died in a hospital in south dakota and a boyfriend of the child's mother is under arrest.

police responded to the emergency wednesday night. >> it was a call of a child who was choking. the child was unresponsive. he was taken to a hospital for treatment. once he was at the hospital, the medical examiners found that he had some injuries that were not consistent with being accidental, but they were actually consistent with being abused. police arrested joseph peterson described as the boyfriend of the child's mother and charged him with aggravated bat i are -- battery and assault before the child died. they confirmed the boy was the mvp's son. the relationship with the boy and his mother is unclear. peterson was absent from the practice on friday dealing with undisclosed matter. >> this is a private matter, and i'm going to ask you employees just respect my

and unions are expected back at cal trans headquarters to continue negotiations. that's where allie rasmus is live for us this morning with more on where talks stand as the countdown to yet another strike continues. allie? >> reporter: mike, as you said, sometimes in the next 30 minutes, we should see union leaders and bart management heading into the cal trans headquarters here in downtown oakland. 9:30 is when both sides are scheduled to be back at the bargaining table this morning. we've been told bart is prepared to present a new offer to the union this morning. if no agreement is reached by sunday night, bart's union says their workers will go on strike come monday. bart general manager attended yesterday's negotiations and union leaders say they were very encouraged by that. both sides have hinted at progress in the negotiations so far. >> i think the next day or so's going to really tell. the good news is that there's serious discussion and there's real bargaining going on. >> reporter: in the meantime, bart passengers are thinking

about making alternate plans to get to work on monday, in case there is a strike. some passengers this morning told us how a bart strike would impact them. >> i just won't go to work. i won't be able to get to work. >> how are people going to get to work, school? trying to even get over to the city from here, just, you know, not going to work. >> reporter: bart management and the unions are facing increasing pressure from the public and also political leaders to get a deal done. several east bay legislators were at cal trans headquarters yesterday. they weren't taking sides. they wanted to be there to remind everyone involved that a strike should be a last resort. back out here live, looking at some of the people involved in the negotiations heading into the cal trans building. again, the plan is for both sides to continue negotiating throughout the weekend in order to avoid a strike come monday morning. but you just saw a couple people heading in because talks are scheduled to resume here at 9:30. live in oakland, allie rasmus, ktvu channel 2news. well it, appears many bart

passengers have already made alternate plans, fearing a bart strike. ridership dropped sharply yesterday. by midday, it was down 20,000 passengers compared to recent fridays. transbay fell by 11,000. with the threat of a bart strike, it seemed many commuters found other ways to get to work or school. stay with ktvu for continuing coverage on the bart negotiations. as tomorrow's deadline nears, we'll have updated information on air, website, twitter and facebook. . new this morning, a costco in south san francisco is recalling nearly 40,000 pounds of rotisserie chicken products that may be contaminated with salmonella. most products being recalled include kirkland signature foster farms rotisserie chickens, kirkland farm and rotisserie chicken soup. they were sold at the store on el camino real on september 11 and september 23. this is a class 1 hazard situation where use of the product can cause serious

illnesses or death. the state is looking to fill 7000 openings at corrections department. this morning, 500 people are undergoing grueling physical tests at a training facility in sacramento county. the test include what you see there, running with dumb bells. officials say the jobs are competitive, as they are physically demanding. only 2 to 5% of applicants will be hired to become corrections officers. there is a big need, with 1800 officers retiring every year. well, happening today, legislators in both chambers of congress are holding rare saturday sessions. the house is meeting at this hour. this is video taken a short time ago of lawmakers discussing the ongoing budget stalemate. over at the senate, legislators will vote on a democratic bill to raise the debt ceiling through the end of next year. republicans are poised to reject the measure. they have come up with a budget plan that raises the debt ceiling through january and repeals a tax on medical devices as part of president obama's affordable care act. >> let's put this hysterical

talk of default find husband and -- and find solutions. >> it would be a black mark on you are our reputation, and that is a gross understatement. >> house republicans proposed increasing the debt zealing for six weeks in exchange for pending cuts and entitlement reforms. president obama and house speaker john boehner talked to each other late this afternoon, with both men vowing to keep working this weekend to reach an agreement. several states concerned that the shutdown is hurting tourism have struck deals with the interior department to reopen famous landmarks. the state of new york will pay more than $61,000 a day to fund park service personnel, so that the statue of liberty can open. arizona will pay $112,000 a day for the grand canyon. and south dakota has worked out a deal to reopen mount rushmore beginning monday.

a stanford student faces several charges in connection with the deadly crash in south san francisco. 24-year-old zachary katz was booked in the san mateo county jail on wednesday, but has since been released after posting a quarter million dollars bail. he was booked after spending several days in the hospital. investigators say he was drunk and driving northbound in the southbound lane of highway 101 when he slammed into a taxi. a 62-year-old passenger in that cab was ejected and killed. katz is scheduled to appear in court next month. he was booked on several charges, including gross vehicular manslaughter and drunk driving. community groups in berkeley are hoping to raise awareness about a rising number of sexual assaults, with sexual assault awareness day. it is believed to be the first city-sanctioned event of its kind and comes as the state audit of cal's response to sexual assault cases is under way. one student who says she was sexually assaulted by a man who had ties to uc berkeley says

she wants to help others who have been victimized. >> in the end, she told me there was nothing that the university could do. >> a lot of sexual assaults that occur, they are acquaintance assaults. it's with people you know. >> organizers hope that today's workshops will be the first in a series of events to prevent sexual violence on and off campus. the event is free and open to the public from 12:30 until 3:00. it is being held at trinity united methodist church, located on bancroft at dana street. there will be workshops, rape myths, reporting and survivor support. more than a hundred people are cleaning a park at international boulevard in oakland, facing on a 51-block area between lake merritt and 51st avenue. i think that's probably not a 51-block area. it's a different, smaller area. volunteers are removing crash illegally dumped, cleaning up

. welcome back. a live look at the oakland estuary. it's a great start, patchy fog reported around the bay. visibility down to a quarter mile in santa rosa and napa. a south dakota community is mourning the loss of a 2-year- old boy who is believed to be the son of minnesota vikings runningback adrian peterson. ♪ >> last night, a vigil was held to honor the toddler's life. police arrested joseph patterson, whom they describe as the boyfriend of the child's mother, and charged him with aggravated battery of a child and aggravated assault before the boy died. peterson was absent from the vikings practice thursday, dealing with an undisclosed private matter, but was back at practice yesterday. >> this is a private matter and i'm going to ask you all to please just respect my privacy and not ask at all about the situation at hand.

>> authorities are now considering new charges against the suspect. peterson says he will play in the vikings game against carolina tomorrow. just a few minutes ago, we learned that one of nine teenage boys missing in new mexico has been found. police say they went missing from a ranch for troubled youth. yesterday, police tried to serve two warrants at the ranch, but there was no sign of anyone on the 30,000-acre property. police are still searching for the rest of the boys, who range in age from 13 to 17. they are also looking for scott chandler, the man who runs the ranch and is accused of child abuse. >> i've never been a witness to any of that, and i've been up on their place. >> an attorney for the ranch says all the teenagers are safe and have been returned to their parents, but police say there has been no sign of them, their parents or chandler. they are calling chandler a person of interest in the disappearance of the boys. security is being added for tomorrow's chicago marathon. it is one of the six world

honoring slain gay rights pioneer harvey milk. milk's nephew, stewart milk, made the announcement on the harvey milk foundation's facebook page. the stamp is going to include a picture of milk with the message, hope will never be silenced. this is reportedly the first time the postal service has issued a stamp in honor of an openly gay politician. the stamp is expected to be available next year. a new poll reveals residents in walnut creek are happy and unaware of the city's financial troubles. according to the poll by emc research, the number one complaint was traffic. number two, nothing. 76% of the city's residents say walnut creek is headed in the right direction, but city leaders say this is a mixed blessing, as walnut creek is actually facing budget problems. the city manager is predicting a 2 to $5 million deficit starting next fiscal year. today, the san francisco 49ers will induct john mcveigh into the team's hall of fame. mcveigh joined the team back in 1979 as director of player personnel and also served as

vice president and general manager during the glory years when the niners won five super bowls. in total, mcveigh spent 21 seasons with the franchise. he will be recognized during tomorrow's game at candlestick against the cardinals. the team boarded a flight yesterday, destination, china. it's part of the nba's global games, an attempt to promote the league worldwide. the warriors will play the los angeles lakers in two exhibition games, one on tuesday in beijing, the second one to be played friday in shanghai. >> the most important thing is to show these people respect. go over there and play as hard as you can and show them what we're trying to accomplish here with the warriors. >> warriors say china is a very important market. the team has actually launched a couple of chinese language websites to attract more fans. warriors will host a basketball clinic in china and will also get a tour of the great wall. new this morning, students in pleasanton could soon have

less time for summer fun and more time for school books. over the next two weeks, the district's calendar committee is going to be discussing proposed changes to the academic calendar. the committee is considering moving start and end dates, possibly starting classes in late july, then ending in late may or early june. yes, that does mean summer vacation would get a little shorter. school officials say it's all part of an effort to improve learning conditions for both students and teachers. meanwhile, oakland public school leaders are trying to get more students to graduation. last year, 62% of oakland's high school seniors graduated. this year, the goal is to raise the rate to 64%. in four years, the district wants to have 80% of its summers getting comploam makes, but so far, it's not clear how the district plans to reach those goals. students at a stool in new hampshire are no longer going to be allowed to play the game of tag. the principal at charlotte avenue elementary in nashua in

. the space shuttle endeavour is proving to be a big money- maker, one year after it was retired in los angeles. the shuttle is on display at the california science center. it has drawn a record 2.7 million visitors so far. that is nearly 1 million more than the museum averaged before its arrival. you may remember endeavour drew enormous crowds when it made its way through the streets of los angeles last october. i remember. we brought it to you live right here on mornings on 2, as it was delivered to the science center. the national transportation safety board is sending a mechanic to monterey to determine how a door fell off a plane and landed on the roof of a motel. it happened shortly after the private plane took off on thursday afternoon. airport officials say they searched all around the area for the door and it was found yesterday on the roof of a motel. nobody was injured, including the people on the plane.

billboards showing jesus covered in tattoos are causing controversy in one texas town. 59 of the billboards have gone up in the city of lubbock. >> people found out that they have scars and they have things in their past that they haven't let go of. what's cool is christ will take that from us, and so through tattoos is the way we use the imagery to show that. >> some critics of the billboards say they are sacrilegious, but the group that paid for the ad say they are part of a campaign to show that jesus loves everyone. the vatican is recalling thousands of commemorative medals after it was discovered that jesus was misspelled. in the upper right-hand corner of the coin, jesus is spelled with an l instead of a j. the coins were produced to commemorate pope francis being named head of the catholic church. 6200 coins were made, but only four were sold before the mistake was discovered. >> wonder if the four coins are going to be very valuable or if they were asked to return them. what do you think? >> i'm sure they were asked to

are you expecting it to be a very long day today? >> yes, let's hope so. everyone is hoping to goes very late. the general manager will be at the table today. that's good news. mediators asked us to keep what's said at the table at the table, and we honor and respect that. the goal is to come to a deal or at least inch closer as we approach the sunday night deadline. >> reporter: and both sides talked yesterday about a move towards progress. >> it was very productive in the sense that the general manager's at the table, listening to the unions, asking what's it going to take to get it going back and forth again. in that sense, it's been very productive. >> reporter: have you been inside during the negotiations or have they been relaying to you what's going on? >> those at the table are just the team. the spokes people aren't at the table, no. >> reporter: what sense do you have that things could wrap up today? glits really hard to say. it's impossible to say. usually it goes down to the wire for whatever reason. maybe we'll break all of everyone's expectations and get something today, but it is too

where lanes are shut down on southbound 242. chp says it is on the scene of an accident involving a cement truck. the accident is near the highway 4 connector. both of the right lanes are blocked at this time. no serious injuries have been reported. a street sweeper is currently on the way to the scene. traffic, though, is backed up at this hour. an officer-involved shooting is under investigation in vallejo this morning. it happened around 1:30 on lincoln road. the officer saw a stolen vehicle parked at a motel. the driver exited the car and the officer then tried to stop him. that's when police say the suspect ran. now, the officer says he saw what he thought was a silver weapon in the man's pocket. and when the man reached for it, the officer then deployed his taser, but that did not work and the officer says he fired his gun. the suspect was taken to the hospital with nonlife threatening injuries. that officer was not hurt. new security measures have been put in place at san francisco general hospital following the death of a patient in a stairwell.

hospital staffers are now required to check stairwells daily and when alarms sound. the changes come after lynn spalding was found dead in a stairwell on tuesday, 17 days after she was reported missing. spalding was being treated for an infection in the surgical unit before her disappearance. new this morning, in his weekly address, president obama says it is time for both political parties to get back to work for the american people. >> our government is closed for the first time in 17 years. a political party is risking default for the first time since the 1700s. this is not normal. >> the president says the ongoing shutdown is threatening the future of the nation's economy. he met a group of small business owners who he says lost contracts, customers, and put hiring on hold because of the uncertainty over what is happening in washington. pro football hall of famer mike ditka says a mistake he made altered the course of

history. he says in 2004 he had the chance to run as a republican against then-illinois state senator barack obama for a u.s. senate seat, but ditka passed on the opportunity. he now says he regrets the decision, adding that he probably would have won and president obama would not be in the white house today. ditka calls his decision not to run the biggest mistake of his life. the shutdown could also force two national laboratories in livermore to close their doors on october 21st. 6500 workers at lawrence livermore national laboratory could be furloughed. the facility tests nuclear arms and conducts research in alternative energy. it has been operating on funds from current contracts. the other facility that may be forced to shut down is the livermore campus of sandy and national laboratories. a thousand workers there, including researchers, scientists, and engineers would be furloughed. the cupertino city council is scheduled to vote on apple's headquarters. plans call for apple's new

campus to be 80% open space, surrounding a space ship-design in the center, to encourage collaboration. the campus will eventually be home to 7000 fruit and olive trees. a final vote on the project is expected next month. the scheduled blue screen of death, familiar to many pc users has made its way to apple products. some owners of apple's new iphone 5s say apple's i work app has cause the phone to freeze, then show a blank brew screen before rebooting. the problem can reportedly be avoided by disabling icloud syncing for pages, keynote and number apps. it is the first time the blue error screens associated with the windows operating system have been report order apple products. the iphone 5s and 5 c have only been on the market a few weeks, but c net reports the iphone6 is in development and may have a larger screen. the iphone 6 could be unveiled

sometime next year. well, your picture could soon appear in google ads if you have a google plus account. users who post positive reviews and comments on google sites could show up in ads starting next month. users, though, can opt out by going to their google plus settings page. your facebook picture could also show up in an ad if you like a company on facebook or post a positive review on its page. a federal judge has handed down a split decision on san jose's lawsuit against major league baseball and plans to move the a's to the south bay. the judge rejected san jose's challenge to baseball's antitrust exemptions. the city wants the oakland a's to move to san jose and it had argued that antitrust provisions cover their relocation of teams, but the judge disagreed. san jose was allowed to move forward with other claims against major league baseball and still hopes to eventually get a new downtown stadium for the a's. the ruling comes as oakland is trying to keep its pro sports teams from leaving. next week, the city council is set to discuss a proposed coliseum city that calls for

building a new stadium for the raiders, a's, and golden state warriors. city officials are hopeful because some investment firms with deep pockets are reportedly interested. mild fall weather in the forecast for your weekend. giving you a live look at mount diablo, a few mid and high level clouds drifting overhead. some of us dealing with low clouds this morning and even patchy, dense fog. let's start out with that. along the coastline, half moon bay reporting visibility, about 2 miles. sfo reporting visibility now about 2 miles. santa rosa, we can't see it here on the map, but santa rosa, still reporting patchy fog, visibility down to half mile. napa reporting visibility down to quarter mile. it's been along the east bay sea shore the entire morning, and oakland and heyward reporting visibility between 2 and 4 miles. it's a little thick in some areas and quite thick in others, especially near napa, still reporting visibility down to quarter mile.

so again, something to at least make worth noting. 42 degrees in napa right now, 46 in novato. climbing out of the 30s in some places. it was really, really chilly over parts of the north bay this morning and to the east, where temperatures are now in the 50s. many of us woke up in the low to mid-40s. so a nice rebound taking place, especially if you have the sun shining. 54 in pleasanton right now. low 50s at lafayette, as well as orinda. pittsburg reporting 48 with mostly sunny skies. this morning, fog, breaking away to partly cloudy skies. it will be cool along the coast, mild around the bay and inland. tracking the system here right now currently over the state of washington, it's going to be diving south and east. so it's going to slide to the south of us. it's going to bring a few scattered showers to the sierra late tonight, into tomorrow, perhaps even snow down to the

pass level. it won't be a whole lot, maybe an inch or two, but we'll see it happen over the sierra. for us, it's going to lead to breezy conditions sunday through tuesday. so as the system moves to the east of us, ridge of high pressure building in, and the two combined will bring us breezy north winds at times. we'll be watching that. but for today, the winds generally light, not too bad. 74 in sonoma for the afternoon. 71 san rafael. upper 60s in sausalito. upper 60s, low 70s for the east bay. 69 in oakland and heyward. mid-70s for pleasanton. 74 for danville. in case you're wondering, temperatures a lot like yesterday, perhaps slightly warmer in some places. 71 san jose. 71 cupertino, as well as santa cruz. along the peninsula for the afternoon, you're looking at 70 degrees redwood city. 64 in san francisco. low 60s along the coast. and your extended forecast there, with the second half of your weekend in view, upper 70s in the forecast by tomorrow. then we will see just a gradual, modest bump in temperatures as we get into the

let's recap top stories this morning. negotiations are resuming in the bart labor dispute. they were scheduled to begin 15 minutes ago at the cal trans building in oakland. the unions say they are pleased that bart general manager is at the bargaining table. workers will go on strike on monday if no deal is reached by tomorrow. a costco in south san francisco is recalling nearly 40,000 bounds of foster farms rotisserie chicken products that may be contaminated with salmonella. they were sold at the store on el camino real between september 11 and september 23. the united states senate rejected a democratic plan to extend the debt ceiling through next year. both chambers of congress are holding rare saturday sessions in hopes of ending the standoff over the budget and debt ceiling, with ceiling deadline october 17th. this just in, word that a casualty of the government shutdown has just reopened. the owners of the cliff house in san francisco opened at 9:00

this morning. while the restaurant is privately owned, it sits on national park land and was ordered to close because of the partial shutdown. but we just got off the phone with the owners, who say they have been able to reach an agreement and are now back open for business. frustrated truck drivers are staging a protest in washington, dc this weekend. about 30 trucks plan to circle the 64-mile capital beltway in eight-hour shifts until tomorrow afternoon. it's called the ride for the constitution. truckers say it's to protest what they call unconstitutional actions by the federal government, including the new healthcare overhaul and the patriot act. more fallout from that partial government shutdown. the head of the national transportation safety board says 1500 investigations are now on hold, including the asiana crash at sfo last month. more than 90% of ntsb employees

are furloughed. the agency also postponed an investigation into a recent battery fire involving one of tesla's model s sedans. the government shutdown even has an impact on boaters at lake sonoma. the army corps of engineers has jurisdiction at the lake and it is closed to public launch ramps. boaters can't go onto the lake, despite paying fees of $350 a month. >> it is a nice weekend this weekend and we have the chance to go out and yet we can't. >> the sonoma county sheriff's department is enforcing the law. 11 gun control bills have been signed into law, but gun control advocates are still disappointed with this year's session. brown did sign legislation requiring that guns be locked up inside the homes where the mentally ill and convicted

felons live. >> the purpose of both these bills is to increase safety in our communities, prevent gun violence, and to give our public safety officials and others more tools. >> the 18 bills put on the governor's desk for consideration were all in response to the newtown school shooting. gun rights groups have threatened to launch recall campaigns against the lawmakers who supported the legislation and say they are considering legal action. governor brown also signed legislation making california the first state in the nation to ban hunting with lead bullets. the law requires all ammunition for hunters to be made from copper or steel by july of 2019. environmentalists say lead bullets can poison wildlife, including the endangered california condor. governor brown also signed legislation to improve safety in limousines. a new law requires limousines to have two additional emergency exits and limousine drivers will have to brief passengers on safety measures.

state senator alan corbett of san leandro introduced the bill after the deadly limousine fire on the san mateo bridge in may that killed five women. the law goes into effect for new limousines in 2015. existing limousines have until 2016 to comply with the law. a cup of coffee at starbucks could now come with a political message. on thursday, the company started a nonpartisan petition called come together. representatives from the company say the hope is to help end the partial government shutdown. the petition is demanding leaders open the government, pay the debt, and pass a long- term budget deal. the starbucks in san jose has already filled a page with signatures. >> if you buy something in a store and the service isn't good, you can return it. let's return congress. let's ask for a refund. >> a political expert with san jose state says it can be risky for businesses to take political stands, but she also says she doesn't expect starbucks to see much opposition because so many americans are frustrated. the petitions are going to stay

posted in the stores through sunday. and jetblue is offering a deal for friends and family. the airline has announced that it's going to let friends and family members pool their frequent flyer points together to earn free travel. the airline is going allow up to seven infrequent flyers to share their points. other airlines usually charge members to transfer miles or points in its loyalty programs. a diet pill is being pulled off store shelves nationwide after officials say at least 24 people who took it suffered liver failure. all the cases have been reported in hawaii. one woman, a mother of seven, has died. >> take it off the shelf! do not wait! >> the fda is investigating. symptoms of liver failure include fever, fatigue, loss of appetite and abdominal pain. the stanford football team is in utah today, trying to extend its 13-game winning streak, the second longest in

the nation. but utah has given two strong pac-12 teams tough challenges this year. kickoff at 3:00 this afternoon. cal bears also on the road down in southern california today, taking on ucla. this is the fourth time in its first six games cal will be taking on a top 25 opponent. last season the bears enjoyed a nice 43-17 victory over the bruins. kickoff tonight at 7:30. san jose state also on the road today, playing colorado state in fort collins. nothing to worry about for the 49er fans. quarterback collin kaepernick will start tomorrow's game against the arizona cardinals, despite a foot problem. his status is listed as probable in the team's injury report. he has been taking all the snaps during practice. coach jim harbaugh says the niners are complying with league rules about listing the injury. one programing note, you can watch the game right here on ktvu tomorrow at 1:25. the san jose sharks are looking to keep their winning streak alive when they take on the ottawa senators at home tonight. sharks have won every game this season and they are hoping to

. a swedish zoo welcoming three additions, these african lion cubs born last month. after making their zoo debut last week, well, they are very popular. the public can't get enough of them. the one female and two male cubs have been named alice, antione and arbot. the cubs are doing well, walking around right now, and the zoo is watching their development closely. well, a homeless man has touched the lives of some west oakland residents so much that they donated more than $6000 to help him find a home. 63-year-old james boatner is more commonly known as cleanup. that's because he does spend most of his time sweeping up the sidewalks in front of homes and businesses in west oakland. a local artist painted this mural of him on the side of the building to help tell his story and help get him a place to live. >> it means a lot, because it lets the people know somebody really cares. >> cleanup has been homeless

for the past 15 years. despite facing hard times, he says he's always tried to give back. at the bottom of the mural is a website, sidewalkstory.com, where people can make donations to help get boatner off the streets and help write a book about his life. a 6-year-old boy is recovering at children's hospital in oakland, after being attacked by a family dog. it happened on thursday, around 7:30 p.m. in his family's backyard. the retriever bit the boy on the face. so far, there have not been any updates on the boy's condition, but the dog has been quarantined until a hearing officer determines whether or not the dog should be considered a threat. your time now, 9:56. we've been talking about the cool morning. let's go to rosemary one last time to see how things are warming up. rosemary? >> yes. we're shaping up nicely. we still have a little patchy dense fog out there, but that be dissipating in the next half hour or so. temperatures also beginning to climb. widespread 50s in the forecast as we get into the 10:00 hour. by noon time, mostly sunny
