food afternoon, i am tori campbell. >> a worker was killed at the construction site while unloading his truck. >> we are joined live with the developing news to explain what happened. good afternoon, ann. >> good afternoon. work is halted while the accident is under investigation. it happened at 6:30 on the south side of the stadium. according to the cal osha, he was a subcontractor. his truck was being unloaded when a bundle of rebar fell and crushed him. emergency crews were called and the driver was transported to a local hospital. he later died from his injuries. meanwhile the project's general contractor turner devcon released a statement saying our thoughts and prayers go out to his family during this very difficult time. now the driver's identity has

not yet the been released and no word on when construction can resume at the stadium. live in santa clara. ann rubin, ktvu news. thank you, ann. they learned of the worker's death and said our sincere's thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends and coworkers affected by this tragedy. this is not the first deadly accident during the building of levi stadium. >> 63-year-old elevator worker donald white was killed after he was struck in the head. that shut down work for two days. now to the looming bart strike. trains are running and there is no new contract between bart and its unions. right now. they are reviewing what bart said is the best and final offer. >> we are joined live from outside where they are meeting right now to let us know what this means for bart riders.

good afternoon, katie. >> good afternoon, we have seen one person so far. we have not yet heard from the atu or bart and with the strike deadline looming, we are not sure what is going on inside the negotiations which means we could see a strike at midnight. >> it is very, very serious. >> they said they are still talking about a resolution and if bart does not retract or change the offer made last night, there will be a strike at midnight. the offer from bart came at four and specifically called their last, best and final offer. it includes a 3% pay raise per year for four years. also include as 4% pension contribution and 9.5 for medical. >> the bay area is tired of going to bed at night and not knowing if bart is going to be
